2 days later - tell wife that they have a $200 pack that lets you play 2 days earlier than the guardian, but you just cant justify spending that much money

10 minutes after telling wife that - Wife state's "If you buy the more expensive pack, I will leave you!"

11 Years ago - Marry a woman that appreciates my gaming, but doesn't game herself

10-5 years ago - produce 3 children (gender unimportant)

3 weeks ago - Look at schedule of early release and ensure you are off on the Hero launch.

2 weeks ago - tell wife that you are buying the $60 guardian pack.

2 days later - tell wife that they have a $200 pack that lets you play 2 days earlier than the guardian, but you just cant justify spending that much money

10 minutes after telling wife that - Wife state's "So your off that thursday and other people will be online but you wont. So now i will have to hear you whine and complain that you cant play for two more days. Just go buy the more expensive pack"

3 minutes after conversation with wife - Purchase Hero of the North founders pack

Day before launch - Head out to buy a sundry of snacks (chips/salsa, pizza bites, 2 bags of peanut butter fudge batter (for wife to bake), 12 pack of cream soda, 6 pack of Dos Equis (after all i'm the most interesting man on this forum currently), and whatever else ends up in the basket.

Spend 4 hours on forums making sure nothing is new that i need to watch, read, listen or post.

Ensure a solid 9 hours of sleep, waking up 2 hours prior to launch

Take shower and groom self really well (understanding it may have to last for 2 days)

Ask wife to make you breakfast

After rolling of the eyes, run up to McDonalds and get a #11 with medium coffee (2 cream - 2 sugar)

Clean Man Cave (i know, if the kids all have computers in the room it doesn't really count as a "man cave" but let me dream for a sec) furiously for the next 20 minutes - ensure all items are clean and do a quick restart on computer to ensure everything is up to date.

Train 9 year old son on how the basic's work in the game - Appoint him as /AFK BIO captain

Have wife bake the first batch of fudge

Tell the children not to eat it

Appoint the 5 year old girl to tell me if her two older brothers eat any of dad's fudge.

Find out 2 older brothers bribed younger sister with larger portion of fudge.

    Have wife bake 2nd batch.

Commense to 48 hours of Neverwinter gaming!

    Can I be your friend?

Haha, good stuff. But indeed the wife feels a bit underappreciated.

    Happy gaming to all!

You have a great wife. I want some peanut butter chocolate fudge. It sounds great. Best part about your post was the kids scheming to consume the fudge.

    Better plan than that.

    1. Be a girl gamer.
    2. Date only gamers. Or be single (at least this way you don't have to ever pick up socks off the floor haha).

Much shorter plan. And there's like 100 places that deliver restaurant quality food if I get tired of snacks.
Now if only I had a job that paid me less so I would actually feel inclined to give away my 8 hours today. But I think of it as... today paid for my HOTN pack and zen.

No what you need is a job that you are on call all the time but you get paid obscene amounts of money, also they only call you in on Mondays for about 3 hours 1pm-4pm and wednesday for about 4 hours 10am-2pm

I married my gamer. I had to give him the pouty face in order to justify getting the Hero of the North pack. At least now he knows I'll be happy and occupied while he's at work today! ;)

Made my day. I tried to talk my wife into rearranging her work schedule so that she would not work this weekend, but my pleas fell on deaf ears. I should have started sooner with the planning - 12 years would have been about right.

I hate on-call, brrrr... IT on-call is basically... go put out the fire at midnight. No, thank you, sir.

Oh maybe add step 3: make more money than the hubby :P.
Though when a gamer spends 100+ each month on Steam and Xbox, they have zero to whine about a 300 dollars once in a while haha.

She gets to do that often enough. Someone once asked me "Sir, you make a bit of money, how much do you make?" i replied "That's a great question, let me call my wife!"

If you have a wife that is cool with your gaming that be sure to hold on to her and be thankful. Different women have different ways in which they feel loved. Some like to be told, some like to be touched. some like to be just like for you to be near. Some like it when you do little things for them some like it when you give them things. and often it is a combination of the above and other things.

Figure out what she needs to feel loved and then make sure she gets it. You do that and you will likely have all the gaming time you need.

HAHA! Now you are either a girl trying to play with our minds or a bloke trying to think like a women!
Either way, I had a good laugh :)
It all seems so simple when you put it like that mate!
