Well you misunderstood again. I was never talking about custom assets. Terrain deformation in NWN2 exterior areas does not involve any custom art assets. I'm not sure what you are talking about, but I'm talking about raising and lowering the terrain to make custom outdoor landscapes as apposed to selecting premade tiles. Look at the difference between
NWN and NWN2 exteriors. No one is talking about custom art assets.
So sorry I was responding to someone else who interepreted your statement. The answer is in this thread by crypticmapolis. I'm assuming the meshing you are talking about would be handled by the heightmap editor that he indicates.
here is what he said:

For exteriors, we will have Cryptic made zones and quest areas saved out for use, as well as a large library of blank premade terrain heightmaps (with no objects on the map) to start with. We do not have a heightmap editor in the Foundry currently, although it's definitely on our wishlist.
Sry im a bit off-topic in this post but i was checking the Craig Zinkievich GDC presentation and im a bit worry how xp rewards will be given in foundry. (check from -30m to -24m)
I was watching the video and i was worry about the exploit part, it seems XP will be given according to the duration on the foundry mission and people in STO used that to exploit the system by doing fast quest and deliver them 1h later (which will give u the max XP)
Now, they fix it with a 4h max UGC XP reward and that rly worry me more lol
So i still can exploit the system, do some 10 fast quest, do cryptic content and deliver the UGC quest some hours later to maximize my reward, thats the cryptic explot fix ?? I know Craig metion that by doing it they will keep exploiters to login every day BUT they are still exploiting In my personal opinion thats not a good method to fix the exploit.
Another thing that worries me is that good players are not rewarded, i mean if i have a exelent group of players that actually finish the UGC fast all they will got is less XP than, lets say, an average group which will take more time to finish the UGC content but they actually get more XP ??
I know thats from STO but im rly affraid the same method will be used in neverwinter foundry aswell, im also not a STO player so might be wrong.
Let me know what u guys think about it and let me know if i understood it wrong.

Cryticmapolis (translates: cryptic his city) has already clarified it and I am satisfied that it is not exploitable.
Loot in chest is based on average time for the mission, not on how much you take.
XP is only based on monsters killed.
Loot in chest is capped also with many other safeguards.
In short, if you kill monsters, you get XP - doesn't matter you kill inside a quest or outside in open areas.

Guess i missed that, so the XP on UGC will be always depend of the amount of monsters u kill if i understand right.
Hmmm, what if the UGC dont have combat ?? Like a pure dialog box some devs metions on videos, do we have any answers for it ??
Aside of non combat, thats fair enough for me. I was a bit worried after seeing that video, i trully was.

You can read the post by cryptic here. I understand as I was also worried after watching that video but the video does not explain all very properly.
Foundry is actually very difficult to exploit. I believe best way to level up would be by playing official quests and killing mobs in open areas as soona s they respawn - which is fair as it would be boring and there needs not be a race to level but enjoy the game.

I'm not sure if I added this video (and since I'm currently fighting the flu I'm not going to review them all:)) so I thought I'd add it here. You can add stairwells etc as Andy discusses here its under the "teleporter" tab in the foundry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxKBOo062mw&feature=player_detailpage#t=972s

Yeah it's interesting that Andy called the STO foundry beta .5 in that vid, I can do quite a bit with that already, I can only imagine what version 1.0 will be capable of.
As I browse through the various offerings here, something came to mind. I don't know if this issue has been addressed or not, so please bear with me.
Can the Foundry and UGC be used to design PVP settings? I realise that very little is known about how PVP will be implemented in the game, but this issue really seems to be something that should be looked at. One of the main problems in current MMO's is the lack of variety in PVP settings and the mismatch of experienced players ganking newer players. If the Foundry can be used to create PVP zones and limits placed on what level players can enter at any given time, this could be a way to expand the PVP portion of this game.
There are some mechanics that would need to be worked through but I do think that given what we know about the Foundry this could really set the PVP aspect of the game into a realm all its own.
I'm sure that brighter minds than mine can address the various issues this topic raises, but it is something to ponder.

I am guessing this, but I believe this is a feature devs want but it won't be present at launch.

Will there be a way to report Foundry missions we see that seem designed for exploiting for moderator review, and a way to report bogus ratings/reviews of Foundry missions meant to artificially inflate/deflate their ratings? I think this is going to be essential, since it seems Foundry missions will be able to be published immediately after creation without any Cryptic review.
Without some kind of report system, author's friends WILL try to artificially inflate scores of UGC to try to earn bogus rewards from Cryptic, and UGC WILL receive sabotaged rankings. People WILL try to exploit the Foundry system.
There needs to be SOME kind of check in place for players AND moderators to spot and report this kind of activity.

There is already a system to check missions like these in STO, so NW's quest should also have it.
However, I have heard from many people that the system of reporting is not very effective for the quests that pass the review already. We don't know how effective it will be for NW foundry. I hope it is because UG quests are more centric to NW than to STO.

Lets go through this.
PvP Foundry is currently wish-listed. Reporting exploited Foundry missions is normally not needed as per the review board who would look for this and copyright/offensive issues before approving the mod by a minimum of (I think) three different reviewers. However, if a public mod is found to be exploiting, the standard in-game option to write a ticket as per all Cryptic games (on main menu often hit by the Esc key) does have a report option for such things.
Well ... this is a great thread. I am glad to have finally found it (and I can't believe I missed it all this time!!). Do we know/have information relating to the following ideas/questions:
Will we be able to save Foundry "stuff" offline so we can share things we make with others? Or is there an online way to do so?
Will we be able to re-use custom assets that we make within different missions/quests (whatever they are called)? Or do we have to re-make them every time?
I am mainly asking because of what I read here from the STO Foundry forums.
Thanks in advance

Adding this it was uploaded on the 9th of November its Craig doing a presentation on UGC at the China Game Developers Confrence
Excellent, very helpful video guide! Can't wait to get my hands on the foundry at the next alpha test. And I promise to NOT make the object to get at the end of the mission/quest a golden manticore statue! Haha!

1) No. Online Sharing/collaboration is not yet implemented but would be something devs said they will look into after launch. You can import foundry script to your computer but it is only for troubleshooting purposes and has no utility in collaborating or other such stuff
2) There was a talk of ability to copy your quests and maps. How it is implemented is yet to be seen in action.
You can collaborate by a number of ways though. You can agree to use a free flowchart program like yEdit or you may choose to use MS-Access for flowcharts. The you can make designs like these to share the logic amog a newsgroup or guild friends.
This way you can share the logic of Dialogs and Story Board.

I was looking through all these posts and I may have missed what I am looking for, so here it goes...
In user-generated content, to the missions/campaigns you create "scale" to the character level of the individual who wants to run the mission OR is there a preset in creating the mission in The Foundry that allows one to set the level of the mission? I only was able to experience the game during the last beta weekend and The Foundry wasn't available to create/play/experience.
