The Old Mage, Stinkbear, Doombringer of Mystra, The Great Oversorcerer, Old Sage
The Old Sage/The Old Mage
Stinkbeard
Doombringer of Mystra.
Personally, I figure "The Simbul's Squeeze" would also fit. And Didn't he as a young mage have a nickname based off teleporting into the toilet? Or was that one of his allies? *shrug*
Yes, but he has nicknames as well. Especially since, as one of the several chosen of mystra (which is why I wouldn't call "Chosen of Mystra" a nickname) he can (or at least in the past, he could) hear his name spoken and the next seven words (and knowledge of who spoke, or at least enough to scry somewhat easily on them, IIRC).
Therefore use of nicknames to keep him from spying on you. Doubly useful when planning a surprise party.

Elminster Aumar has many nicknames......The Old Mage, of course the Sage of Shadowdale, The Great Oversorcerer, Stinkbeard, Old Sage, Doombringer of Mystra......and if you are lucky enough to actually meet Elminster in person, (Ed Greenwood) and have him sign one of his books, he will use the nickname....Greybeard......hehehe
