Does anyone who follows the PnP faithfully (I'm a dabbler at keeping up) if they have plans to put out other sourcebooks for FR before D&D Next comes out?

I don't think so. They have it all on D&D-I now and they had concentrated all their efforts on it. It is a nice place and the way they have digitized their adventures (after a few hiccups) is amazing. If ever were my group to break up completely, I would shift to D&D-I and then start playing PnP on computer with others.

The one thing they don't "reproduce" in D&D I is the detailed background and lore (I mean background as in history not the character background mechanical options) including monster info. If they are ever going to faithfully fully copy access for D&D I users is unlikely and will simply go digital download (likely PDF) and keep the details for the character mechanical info.
As for if new books will come out for 4E. I have no idea, as we don't know how long the beta testing and (under NDA) Alpha testing (before released for groups to try out,) of D&D NEXT will take before it "takes over" as the open next edition. Until then, 4E is the current edition, and you won't see WotC selling D&D NEXT items, but that could take at least a year from this month.
Updated:
Added a link for fluff seeking people. The WotC explains they have supervised every change in lore, including increase of height of monsters to look them intimidating as camera higher than the player etc.
BTW, "resource constraints" actually means that dreaded A-word. That is the reason for long pause.

Ah yes that link is in my interview list of videos
Edit: weird thing can't find anyone who did gameplay at Gen Con like zero videos even though there was a playable demo.
Edit 2: As an aside you know what I don't get they have PHB 4th ed 1,2,3 yet in in certain source books they reference Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms...aren't they just duplicating things (for the most part)?

It was released one by one. Its a complete mess with all the information everywhere. Some of it is in some obscure corner of dragon magzine, some of it in this book and some of it in that book. Then you come to know, "Oh! That book is for Greyhawk, not Forgotten Realms!" And everything you have to redo...

A fighter that fights hard rather than fight smart. The focus is to deal out as much damage as possible using big two handed weapons.
Best ability stat is STR with CON preferred as secondary ability.
(CON gives bonus with some two handed weapons)
Guardian Fighter
The focus is to fight smarter and thus fight better. Offense is usually traded for superior defence abilities and a heavy shield with one handed weapon is used - like longsword, flail and battleaxe.
Best ability stat is STR with DEX preferred as secondary ability (or sometimes WIS is used instead of DEX).
...
P.S.
You can also use forums to find people who play similar to your style. Just explain in the post which kind of groups you want. They are usually classified as:-
Static group - One group is made and they always play together, and only together.
Semi-static group - A pool of players (e.g. 20 or 30) is formed and they create a story together and usually play together, but they level up together.
zerg - (Competition to kill quickest)
Byoh - bring your own healing (meaning everybody kind of solos except very hard stuff)
flower sniffer - (Check every line, object in quest including all items, even useless ones)
together or never - (Staying together to make sure everyone is good, teaching those who dont know)
I am eeleete - One person runs off and asks you to only heal/buff etc. him and not to do anything else("Only I will play coz everyone else is n00b" kind of comment in chat)
I am real eeleete - Real elite player lets you pike while he/she completes quest himself
Stick or die - (Unless you match your speed with general speed of group, you are on your own)
Nerfed - You play with nerfed character for challenge (usually static group)
Fake PermaD - If you die, you can't join group again or res
True PermaD - If you die, and if you res your char, you get banned from a particular guild
Quoting it here to keep list of various types of groups fresh.

why no shadowclasses???? i want my evil HAMSTER necromancer aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Guess I'd be a flower sniffer then. I search every nook and cranny because I'm the kind of DM that likes to hide really cool stuff.
Those classification refer to groups, not individual. When running a group, stating the intention is better. So when looking for members, you can advertize the group as being <FlSn> so explorers join you instead of zergers.
Something I should have written earlier, but better late than never.
Thanks to everyone who made a post in the thread for suggestions and encouragements.
A special thanks to Yvonne for the last Lycanthropy part.
Another special thanks to truth - for reasons much more than one. I can't note them down for it will be too long.
Another thanks to Andre for putting it in his thread about 4e terminology, and to zebular for making it sticky.
To evilhemmes and bitterwinter - other two old and crazy NW fans - for suggesting some additions/changes to it.
human:- Almost the same except that they are regarded as most tolerant of differences of other races. Also, there was perhaps a god to humans like moradin is to dwarves. That god was most powerful of all gods and had Asmodeus as archangel. He died though (no surprise) but it is said asmodeus is still scared of him to this day. However, we are not sure if that god's lore extends to forgotten realm too or is it just for core.
Thought you might like to update this little part - in Forgotten Realms, Asmodaeus only became a god recently, during the Spellplague. When Dweomerheart collapsed in the wake of Mystra's death, her servant Azuth fell into the Hells where Asmodeus, sensing his opportunity, devoured the lesser deity and became a major god himself.
There's nothing about a former god of humanity or anything.

You are right in that in the forgotten realms "He Who Was" is not a canon. However, a myth of a former deity who was god of Archangel Asmodeus is still there in Forgotten Realms. Hence the above should be treated as a myth (therefore I used perhaps).
The difference in Asmodeus of Forgotten Realms and core are:-
- Asmodeus became a god earlier in FR absorbing the essence of Azuth. This allowed him to become powerful and end blood war by hurling the chaos into the Abyss. Thus he seprated the devils and demons. However Blood war was only delayed and not ended.
- He Who Was is a canon in core. In FR, the former deity is only treated as a myth and never named. However those who believe in Chalice(Paladins) still believe that the myth was true.
That has been my understanding from the study of source material.
Does anyone have a reading order recommendation for novels related only to Neverwinter and nearby areas?
If not, is it something which people would want? (i.e. should I dust off my novels and search them to make one?)

I'm pretty sure the Tiefling empire of Bael Turath and the Dragonborn empire of Arkhosia are both part of the "Points of Light" setting (default 4e world) and not actually part of the Forgotten Realms. There were Tieflings in FR before 4e but no real reason as to why they are now so prominent.

Let me be terse here and state that both - the tiefling and dragonborn lore - is canon for FR and not just greyhawk. This can be confirmed by reading one of the dragon issues released a couple of years back.
As the Tieflings are the demon touched, whatever happened to the Aasimar or the angel touched?
Tieflings are descendents of human who had demonic mutation due to blood moon ceremony. Demon and Angels are unable to reproduced hence half-bloods (planar touched) are no longer a possibility.
