While Neverwinter and Baldur's Gate are the most well known cities in Faerun to your average electronic gamer, many pen and paper players of Forgotten Realms material are far more familiar with another location: Waterdeep. The City of Splendors makes being all things to all people look easy, with a robust high fantasy city setting attached to a dark fantasy city setting (Skullport), placed upon one of the first "mega-dungeons" (Undermountain) which then in turn is connected to the Underdark. It becomes necessary to provide greater detail to vast swathes of the rest of Faerun just so people will occcasionally leave town to go adventure elsewhere. While efforts were made in 4e to reduce the importance of Waterdeep and it's masked Lords, there's still nothing you can do in Baldur's Gate that a Waterdhavian can't do better at home. I'm looking forward to creating some Foundry adventures that take adventurers to the City of Splendors, and would be interested in any content packs/expansions dealing with post-Spellplague Waterdeep.

Phlan, City of Adventurers, located of the mouth of the Stojanow River which drains into the Moonsea. Anyone care to join me in locating the fabled Pool of Radiance before the Baneites?
I enjoyed NeverWinter as a city in general. I also enjoyed Baldur's Gate on occassion. If I was in a fighting mood then Luskan was the place to be. Honestly Forgotten Realms offers many great cities, so it is hard to pick just one.
Waterdeep has always been my favorite city to adventure from in the Forgotten Realms.

I'm partial to Waterdeep, but I'd like to explore anything in the Returned Abeir continent! Lots of opportunity there.

1. waterdeep--- good traditional city to start off adventuring in.
2. calimport-- if i was gonna focus on a thiefy desert type campaign.
3. moonshae isles-- ok not a city but still would be fun to start a campaign there i think.
4. luskan--- pirates, rogues, mages, plus its in the north kind of in the wilderness so lots of potential for a good wilderness campaign.
