The Forgotten Realms, which were introduced to me in 1987 by Douglas Niles, in Darkwalker on Moonshae. I promptly purchased the original boxed set of source books and maps, and the rest is history. (I still use the hex pattern transparency that came with it, even though the rest "walked" out of my house many years ago with an evil ex.)

It be the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, it be.
Forgotten Realms is the answer...the only good D&D campaign ever created. It's awesome level of detail makes it the only campaign really suited to MMOs anyway. I owned the original boxed set way back in the olden days of 1989.
Greyhawk was actually kinda cool too, but was a bit bland...it was like what a rough sketch of what Forgotten Realms might look like.
Eberron was truly awful, and it was depressing to see it ever used in a game.
Dark Sun was pretty bad as well. Deviated from standard D&D too much. They should have just made it with a different game.
Dragonlance was kinda cool, but I didn't like how it bent D&D canon so much...and the world felt kind of cramped. Not a lot of plane-related stuff.
