Chaos Chronicles combines the traditional turn-based roleplaying games with a state-of-the-art graphic engine and a dense atmosphere.

They want to revive the classical western party-based fantasy RPGs of the eighties. Games like Phantasie, Pool of Radiance, Ultima, Wizardry, Bard Tale.

It looks promising check it out:

It has been a really long time since I saw hexes. Made me remember might and magic...

Might and magic is one of my favorite. It kind of reminds me temple of elemental evil.

No disrespect intended, but what makes it stand out from the other current tactical RPG's besides the hexes?

    ... besides the hexes?

Hexes are the Powah!!!! You are not ridiculously moving more diagonally like in D&D but are equally far from any of the six side. It makes the game more tactically appealing and logical.

Turn based games are few, though an MMORPG Atlantis showed that there is still a large market for good turn based games.

This is being developed by Coreplay, the same guys that created Jagged Alliance, which was a spotlight game at E3 in 2011.
