DnD played in an age of Technology? Neverwinter Online!
Wonder what character type he played? Fighter? With that sword reference?

I remember hearing about it when he was working on his video games based on his Pitch Black movies, I will try to find the source, but he was talking about how he liked fighters, or using weapons that took both hands.

He is very articulate in describing it too, just listening to him made me want to play.
I was always a fan of the Vin, Pitch Black rocked, but seeing this interview just skyrocketed him to the upper levels haha.

I saw that video a long time ago.
I thought it was really interesting how the jock of the jocks is raving about how much he loved the geeky game of D&D. It just goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover.
Story time!
When I was in high school one day I was drawing a character of some sort in a free period and another person walked up and was praising it. At first I was a bit defensive because although we had been decent friends when we were young his family were big into sports and while I tended to get along with everybody I figured he'd pull the insults out at an obviously D&D inspired sketch.
As it turned out his brother and him are huge D&D fans and actually both DM'ed for the NWN 1 Myth Drannor Server. My jaw dropped.
Thing's surprise you every day. D&D still has an awful stigma with it which prevents most people from being proud players unlike WoW Players. I can't count how many times people have harassed me to play that game because of how great it is and yet no matter how much I say it they never comprehend that 'I know it's great because it's the game I love with some changed names and numbers.' A mock-up made mainstream.
But I truly hope one of these days D&D can break free of the old wive's of yonder year screaming devil worship and be as respected as WoW or any other Video Game RPG.
And it's people like Vin Deisel that can make that happen.
And hopefully games like Neverwinter.

Vin Diesel still remarks on his DnD experiences, as well as being current gamer. He's got a FB page and posts regularly about these things on it. Always good to see someone not so enamered with themselves that they forget their roots

Yeah then you have guys like Wil Wheton and Robin Williams who still play D&D, and Robin Williams is also a huge Warhammer 40K player...you would be amazed at who was either once was or even a current D&D player.

Didn't know about RW and WF40 K, as well as D&D currently. I'd love him just to be our NPC's
Well now that we have a cast of voice actors......
Dibs on Darryl Hannah playing me!

Well, an actual female or a very comfortable male Ms. Hannah's acting abilities
Either or, but must have green hair! =P
