I say we take off and nuke the spammer from orbit...

...It's the only way to be sure
I'm not really a John Galt,

    Open at your own risk.

It is a link to a soccer advertisement. Indeed, spam. I didn't check it for malware/virus. Just don't click it.

Very clever. Using tiny URL or other shortening service to hide the real name...

    Huh... Upgrades.

When I went to the site. Even if they were just spamming for their soccer business, this is clearly a TOS violation. Since I cannot delete this post I'm asking a dev or current mod to close/delete this thread as the URL is in violation and potentially dangerous to infection. If the direct email link I have works, reported them (until we have a report post button.)

hehe. Let me inform you as you have not been here, these kind of threads have been increasing lately. I think there was just one such thread before your absence but recently (infact last 3 weeks) there were at least four such threads I saw. One was just too hilarious - well lets leave it to that.

So rejoice. If spammers are coming at increasing rate making a username and all (so much effort) it means NW is becoming popular!

True, but I reported the [CENSORED] anyway. Here's to this thread deleting and the user being banned as well.

And trust me, when you see my name on a thread named walkthrough, you'll know it's a walkthrough!*

(*Walkthrough subject to being able to play the game. Your beta access may vary.)

Aye, until the report feature comes back, I just go to their core connect page and report them for Nudity and Profanity (closest of the few choices) and then detail the reason. I am looking forward to having some Moderators here to clean up these things. Indeed.

I bet the person who has to go through those reports is really disappointed that they're not nudity or profanity!

Yeah I know that is not true lol. I have a site that was bombed like mad with spammers. Of course now I think I put up so much spam protection they can't get in. Not that it mattered since the people I made it for pretty much never use it and it turned into a ton of posts where I talk to myself :/

That and a bookmark list of interesting things.

3 posts in a row. Cry some moar?

It has no context AT ALL. That is the issue. And it is the 1st post. That means it is little more than advertising. Guess how fond people are of wanton advertising especially when someone tries to hide what they are doing. Which also begs the question why are they hiding it? Combine that with the inclination of these types of posts existing for even more nefarious reasons (phishing, spreading viruses etc.). Hell there wasn't even a hey hello how are you. So to be blunt to hell with 'em.

Prove me wrong that that post has a more benign point of existence and I will agree with you.

If you support spam ONLY for the sake of it, I would rather not have you around any way. Now if I had to guess the next post will likely be you talking more trash instead of making a rational argument. If that is the case you will be ignored from now on. There is no point in listening to someone defending poor behavior for the sake of it. No matter how much they want to whine about it. If your into spam go roll around in your inbox with all the "Nigerian princes" and "Erectile dysfunction" ads.

Thunder, I understand your sentiment. HOWEVER...

This poster isn't a real poster. They're here to spam the forums with a link, and bail. If people were jumping on someone who had just posted something off topic, that would be one thing. But this is spam, and potentially harmful spam.

    SO

Before we get into a crazy flame war, let's first make sure we're all aware of the fact that the OP is a spambot. I can tell by the pixels, and from having seen a lot of spam in my day (bloody vikings!)

Spamming is a violation of T&C. Reporting spam is the duty of every respectable forum user. Instead of learning to spam, you should learn how to recognize and report it.

And if they only sung the SPAM song, I might have forgiven them and not reported them...NAHHHHHH!
