My client shows the server is up, but when I try to log in it says loading launcher and then craps out. Is there any news I am missing?

Yep. The news is that beta isn't out yet. You're ahead of the game. No clear ETA on when you can log in yet.
Is Anyone having problems logging in their Beta Key? I have tried for a month and it says it does not recognize my beta key, so I tried to do it in the perfect world site, and it says "this is a neverwinter beta key you need to go to the neverwinter site" ???? Can anyone offer some help?

Based on the information provided, this will probably be something only PWE/Cryptic can answer. To help identify a possible reason, however:
1) Where did you get your beta key?
2) After logging into the web site (top right), go to the main page here: http://nw.perfectworld.com/ and then after clicking on "Access Beta" (huge orange/yellow button) you should be taken to a page where you can enter a beta key. Now, before you enter your key, it should state, below the input field, in gray:
"Neverwinter [Status]: " followed by a status statement.
Does it specify whether you have already applied or that you have not applied under that field? It may have accepted your key the first time you used it. If it says you are not applied, may want to contact support: https://support.perfectworld.com/
The closed beta test for Neverwinter has not begun at this time.
Thanks,
Stormshade
Hey Stormshade. Good to see you again ((haven't seen you since you left STO forums)). I'm a STO Lifer, but I havn't seen a CBT key. Have we been sent any keys yet, or are you guys still waiting on that till CBT starts? Just curious, and anxious to start BT'ing this game.
Just a quick note on this: Please remember that we will be phasing in CBT participants, including CO and STO Lifetime subscribers as the beta progresses. This means that you may not receive Beta access on day one of the Closed Beta Test if you are a lifetime subscriber of Champions or Star Trek. You may need to wait awhile.
That said, I promise you will gain access to the Closed Beta.
Hi there, I would really, really like to be among the selected few for beta testing one day soon! Having played the original NWN from AOL in the 1990's and all the original box sets over the years (including Eye of the Beholder & all the sequels back in 1991+) I could provide some good insight and maybe a bit of nostalgia from the "early years"...b:victory

Well I got my beta key from PAX. I applied it when it was a cryptic website and all was right with the land, and then we switched over to perfect world, and then I lost it. Now Ive lost my status.
Ive tried to consult customer service and they said that they see it, and there aware of my problem and not to worry. So Im trying not to... But Im curious if I'm the only one with the problem???

You're not the only one. Apparently the website pulls from whatever account system PWE uses, and it hasn't gotten backwards compatibility. If they can see it on your account though, you should be good to go.
You may want to have a look at truthseeker's New Users FAQ (Section III, Forum Use and Access) where it points out the Cryptic/PWE account conversion question and answer.

to both you guys, i had the same issue! via a pax key, I logged a ticket, and response from support is, I posted this under website and forum Maintenance.
For those people that entered beta keys prior to merge and via cryptic account. plz see below for reassurance, reply from support ticket.
"Response Via Email (Support Staff #$) 05/02/2012 12:06 PM
According to our records, you are currently registered to the Neverwinter Beta. If this is the beta you are referring to, you should have no issue when the beta becomes active."
Now im not trying to make anyone look silly here, about a month or 2 later i decided to enter my key from PAX again (thought why not), and it entered, so if someone hit the reset button (b:laugh) but what ever you did, thanks, but there was nothing to tell me that had happened. My responses back to support, were well met and helpfull, but these issues and fixes need to be posted clearly somewhere people can see them, and read them. i have only replied with my responses to help people that need it, not make anyone look stupid.
Thank you everyone for responding! Its good to know Im not the only one. Misery enjoys company. But I wish they would hit the button for me and everyone else soon.b:puzzled
I don't even think they are remotely close to starting closed Beta. They didn't even have enough of the foundry working for even the smallest of demonstrations at E3. The foundry is what is really supposed to set this game apart from most other MMOs. It is their shining star. If they didn't have a small sample of it prepared for E3, then I am guessing it isn't even close to being ready for testing. That is just my opinion and I would love to be wrong.

I dunno man, they were nearly ready for launch last year, so the games builidng blocks were there at the start, (Jack Emmert states even he can now make a dungeon, No offense their either Jack/you said it)i think that part is solid, but they have to recode, tweak, and mix in the MMO flavours, find balances of the classes, and healing as Zeke stated in a video, churn out more Zones, adapt new concepts to keep some originality, come up with a plan for PVP, plan for first major update once the game releases and so on. we are 6months out from realese, thats still a long time away to do alot of work.
I THINK THAT WE WILL BE OK FOR CHRISTMAS

Didn't Andy point out when he was recently interviewed by Neverwinter Nights Podcast that they would be dealing out way more content info over the summer in prep for Beta which is coming up soon? And then he still indicates they are on schedule for a 2012 release?
Great interview by the way. NWNP Episode 164 Andy Velasquez. Not really any new info, but a lot of summing up of things we already know, all in one interview. It's a good reminder of what's coming, and that we haven't really seen anything of what's still to come... in very short order.
As for the Foundry, from what I understand you can play CO or STO to see what the foundry is born from. So if that's true, then the Foundry, in its base form, is already a working machine and has been for a long time. Tweaking it for Neverwinter, while I'm sure it's a load of work indeed, shouldn't be something that slows these guys down. You can tell by Andy's interview how giddy he and the other Cryptic staff are about the game. He comments at one point how they play in it all the time, and can't wait for the day they can share it and play it online with the rest of us.
I have confidence they won't hold it back. I'm expecting to see way more detail on Neverwinter this month and next.
I suppose a good point to make here is that when people start complaining that they game may not be ready soon enough, or they fear it will be delayed into next year, what they are really saying is they are barely able to wait for it's release, and fear of disappointment is getting the best of them?

One think I would like to point out is MMO was what devs wanted to deliver in the first place. If you listen to their interviews year ago, they always say that the game is just like an MMO though not an MMO and they are always excited when saying MMO. Later and recent interviews, they specifically state that MMO is what devs wanted to make and PWE allowed them to do what they wanted.
So this game is what devs wanted to develop unlike year ago when they were being tied down by Atari<<compulsory profanity>>.
This is a very important fact and that means you will now play something from devs hearts rather than just skills. It is bound to be much better than before.
EDIT: OK two minutes of compulsory profanities for taking that accused name of curse to D&D games(DDO,NW, 4e-Daggerdale) is over. Now to brush my teeth and go to sleep for spiritual cleansing...
