Let's see... Sale to Gearbox was pending and Whiteside jumped ship. Could be a similar situation.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
I am sorry for those who loss their jobs. Best wishes for them.

The part that I noticed in this (and many similar reports) is that DECA games operates older titles using a "games as a service" model. So maybe some attention will be given to the way people pay for Neverwinter and things might change in that area...
I play another game called Castle Age and that was passed around from buyer to buyer and ended-up being bought by Deca. Nothing much has changed on the front end.
Apparently pointing-out the bleeding obvious is a 'personal attack'.

They are not going to make any change that involves major developer work and involves material development costs. Changing the payment model (without securing material profit gain guarantee) is not a good bet.

If it's any consolation, after Deca took over CA it started getting better attention to ingame developments and fixes and the players were finally heard and I think they even appointed a better community manager.

Well, the only 'better' community managers were in between mod 3 to before mod 6. They would actually play the game and organize events in game in person. After that, all the "community" managers were just came in and posted the standard (virtually empty) responds such as "noted. Reported. Will pass the information to dev, ...". This might sound better than no responds but virtually, it is more or less the same in the best case scenario.

Here's a bit more details, which also includes how Cryptic is organized under Embracer.
*sigh*
