Retraining failed error message

When I login to some characters, I get the following message. No, I did not try to retrain it.

Same, on my Cleric. I have no idea what's going on, haven't touched her powers and boons in years. I imagine maybe the character got free retraining due to class changes twice, without me setting anything up in between? So it might be trying to grant the second free retrain every time I log on but it can't since I still have the first? IDK that's what I imagine it is. I haven't even tried to touch her powers and boons to see if it fixes things.

It seems that the error message occurs on loadouts that have not had a paragon path selected, whether by manually switching to the "bugged" loadout or a character with the "bugged" loadout active is logged into the game. Haven't seen the message on a loadout with a paragon path selected. Wasn't there some kind "reset" "recently" of some kind on loadouts to fix those that had too many class features, feats or something active at the same time?

Will look into this for clarification!
  • I suspect this might be related to hitting the "apply to all loadouts" button when you have only one loadout.

I did not hit any button. I just login to the character and the message shows up. I did not even move the mouse.
I did not do "apply to all loadout" before I login or after I login.

  • I logged back into both characters where I was getting the error message and discovered that on neither one of them had I picked a paragon path despite being level 20. (Yes, I have 54 characters on my account, so not all the things a dev would assume a normal player had done would necessarily have been completed on some characters.)

All the characters became level 20 automatically during one of the mod change over (from 80 levels to 20 levels). An old level 4 character (who did not do anything in its life after first reach to PE) would become a level 20 character automatically in the change over. So, it is common for level 20 storage alt characters not having paragon set. It is nothing special.

I gpt or get occassionaly still on my 3 character who is not high enough yet to pick a paragon path, she is only an 8. It doesnt seem to affect anything. I run her through the only dungeon she can play on every so often.
  • I confirm that on both characters where I had the error. Once I picked a paragon path, the error was resolved and didn't appear again. I did it separately on both to control variables. I did not have to do anything further like create a second loadout. Picked a path, zoned into workshop and error gone.
