Opening 250 Dragonslayer's lockbox

plasticbatplasticbat Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 12,399 Arc User
I usually don't open lockbox. However, I noticed there are a few things that could be useful for me this time. Hence, I decided to open 250.

The following is the result:

Disclaimer: I forgot to clear out mount upgrade token, companion upgrade token, trade bars and insignia powder from 'Riches' before I opened the lockbox.

The current balance of them (that means the lockbox did not give more that amount) are:
companion upgrade tokens: <= 180
mount upgrade tokens: <= 200
Trade bars: <= 1575
Insignia powder: < 1297

Dragonslayer's choice pack: 1 (from the 250th lockbox)

Mount:
Mythic (Bigby's Hand - account): 2
Legendary (account): 5
Epic: 9
blue: 6
green: 5

Companion:
Green: 23
Blue: 13
Epic: 1

Insignia:
Mythic: 1
legendary: 3
Epic: 5

Health stone (50): 6
Overload enchantment: 7
p-ward: 136
c-mote: 1
Genie's gift: 30

Epic collar choice pack: 10
Epic stronghold voucher: 13

Bag of holding (60): 2
Legendary Dragon key: 14

Reward re-roll token: unknown (I had thousands to begin with)

    To me this confirms that you should not be opening the newest lockbox but rather the older ones with a separate tradebar section.

    Only if you want/need the tradebars.
    I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

    To me, I have tons of trade bar and the reason I have tons of trade bar is I have nothing to buy from the trade bar store. I "tried" to buy something when there is trade bar store discount. However, I could not find anything I want to buy.

    On top of it, I don't even open lockbox often. The last time was pretty much 2 years ago. Yet, I still have tons of trade bar. I do collect and stash every lockbox (except Astral Lockbox) since mod 3.

    Not terrible loot! I hope you managed to get a few things that you wanted for yourself!!

    I'm still opening the last box trying to reach my Mythic! I opened 9 keys the other day and pulled a mythic barbed insignia and 2 legendary account mounts(manticore and black ice warhorse)

    I do satisfy for what I got (but I also did not expect much). There were few things I wanted and I did manage to get them. The main one is the account wide mythic companion. Well, it is a guarantee for 250. That is why I open 250. The price of that companion was 2 million AD in AH before I decided to open the lockbox. If it is the old lockbox (no guarantee) I would have just bought it from AH. I was on the edge of buying it from AH or opening the lockbox. I decided, what the heck, to do latter. I had (and still have) over a thousand lockbox keys.

    Well, it flooded my inventory with 3 rows of overflow (the width of my row is 21 slots) and few hours to move them to the right place in "my inventory system" and to trigger collection of my 9 active toons. Then, I remembered why I hate to open lockbox. I have no complaint for what I got though.

    Companion upgrade tokens to max some new equip power, epic insignias to salvage and upgrade insignias/collars (or if you really are maxed on those, you can sell those epic insignias for 50k AD because insignia powder is in demand). There is stuff to spend tradebars on - or to turn them into other currencies to buy something useful. Even with the worst exchange rate, nothing has less value than a currency that´s not being spent.

    I know I can sell those stuff. I am just lazy to do the process.
    i.e. find out the right price. Put that to AH. Open mail to get the AD or the return items, etc.
    I already have tons of AD and Zen. Yes, I can buy anything I want but there is more or less nothing I want to buy.
    Just to let you know how lazy I am. I still have not opened the 5th Anniversary gifts.

    You can't really be that lazy--I'm just thinking of all those mouse clicks during the Gond event. ;)

    I define my laziness as avoiding/delaying doing something I don't like to do. For the mouse clicks, my mind was on the TV and time limit also played a role.

    I have an idea - trade 1000 Reward Re-roll tokens for 10,000 Zen which can then be traded for AD. (7.5 million). Problem solved. And this would rapidly deplete the Zax exchange.

    Ever since they capped the reward rerolls at 3 per chest, I´ve been amassing tens of thousands of those tokens. 3 per alt per day (if only to sell the health potions for gold) is a net 170+ tokens per day (after spending some on the daily dungeon/skirmish). They are a reward that´s becoming worthless quickly because it´s accumulating faster than it can be spent.

    Wish they´d find a way to spend them (i.e. uncap the number of reward rerolls again but make rerolling rewards take extra tokens for each try, like 1 for 1st reroll, 2 for 2nd reroll, etc. can even be Fibonacci-like). But to turn those VIP freebies into Zen (to spend on VIP and more)... not going to happen.
