Can’t receive items in mail

Can’t receive items through the mail system. I have to meet other characters in game and use trade system to receive items.

My first character was deleted but i can still access the class specific artifact from that character. Is this potentially creating the problem?

I had heard something a long time ago about a level requirement for alts to receive mail, and some kind of bug with that. This could also be affecting my account’s inability to receive items through the mail system. None of my characters can receive items in them mail. (Example: guild contest prizes sent to any of my characters are sent back)

If you're asking about level, can I ask what level your toon is?

The artifact wouldn't block your ability to receive mail afaik.

Maybe check your settings, you might have block mail on or something

My toons are all level 20.
I’ll check the settings again. Maybe i changed it by accident but it was ok last time i checked.

Is your mail full? There's a limit to how many with attachments you can have.

What do you mean "Can’t receive items through the mail system?

Fail to mail out with attachment?
Fail to get stuff from the mail (that already shown in the mailbox)?
Fail to mail from one account to another account?
Fail to mail within the same account?
Some of the above? All of the above?

Only time I’ve noticed is when my guild or another player tries to send me something. Like the example i gave.
I’m told it “bounces back” to the sender.
I keep my mailbox empty.

Are you set to invisible?

Only other thing I can think of is to contact Support and have them check your character/account to see if it is a glitch.

I have some questions for you:

*When it bounces back, does the sender get an error message? (the message may tell us why)
*What happens if you mail yourself something?
*Were you able to receive mail normally in the past?
*Have you changed your gamertag since installing Neverwinter?
*Does your gamertag contain any non-standard characters?
*Have you recently adjusted your XBox privacy settings to make them more restricted?

I asked about the XBox privacy settings as I found they can block in game communications such as guild chat - there's a remote possibility they could affect mail

Also, you can PM me the charactername@gamertag for one of your toons if you like - I'm also on XBox so I can send you a test mail to see if I get an error message.

-I think I’m set to invisible, not sure.
-Never mailed myself.
-never had a problem until my first toon was deleted.
-never changed gamertag nor does it have non-standard characters.

So it may be because i’m invisible gamer profile i guess?

Can you successfully mail to yourself? If no, checking other stuff is moot until that is resolved.

Ok, so two things you need to try:

Firstly, try mailing yourself and see if it is received - keep an eye out for any error messages.

You should bear in mind that just because someone said you should've received a mail, doesn't necessarily mean the issue is with you until checked & confirmed by yourself and someone else (i.e. it could be a problem with the sender). That's partly why I offered to send a mail to you (spotting an error message was the other reason).

Once you've checked the above, set yourself to visible and go through all privacy settings and change them to "anyone" (you can change them back later) and recheck if you can receive.

If you don't get anything useful from the above, try adding the sender to your friends list and ask them to add you too - as a final check.

Let us know what happens - especially when you mail yourself.

Ok, I sent you two mails.

One with just text and one with a potion. I received no error, no return and my potion was taken from my inventory so the mail system at least believes it went through.

When you check your mail I do expect you to receive them but also do a test mail to yourself for extra confirmation.

If you receive my two plus yours it will mean a couple of things:

* your mail is now working
* the issue was either with your privacy settings or the person who said they previously sent you things had a problem on their side. You can check this by asking them to send you another mail.

It was from a guild account but yea.
Sounds like it was my settings.

Probably, but I don't know whether it's possible to exclude certain ranks from guild mail. If it is then it could possibly be a guild settings issue.

It'd be worth asking your guild leader to send another guild mail (or let you know when the next one goes out) to see if you get it.

*edit: oh it's worth having a look at your guild register - flag it to show offline players and sort by gamertag. Have a look and make sure your deleted toon isn't still listed as that could've potentially caused the bounce back. It's not likely but as it's quick, it's worth a look.
