Servers lag

Please actually DO something finally so that servers are stable. I mean come on, there are not thousands of players playing at any given time, what kind of servers you have that they disconnect, lag, disconnect, lag on and on?? I would expect much more stability in XXI century. It's unnacceptable to be disconnected frequently in expeditions only to get back to Yawning Portal, losing one ME (not that expeditions are worth it anyways, poor drop honestly), not good to be disconnected in the middle of dungeon especially when playing tank or healer, random rubberbanding making firing skills impossible, come on, any tech team out there? This looks like some private home small server bought for fun, definitely not fun for playing -_-

First thing is to take care of what you can from your position.

    Reboot your computer.

    Reboot your router.

A lot of times those two things will clear up a lot of lag issues.

Run a tracert to the patch server and see if you're hanging up anywhere between home and the game servers. Usually you'll find a problem with cogent.

But the problem is, at any given time, there are hundreds of people playing the game without any issues. So if the issue is isolated it is much more difficult for them to be able to do anything about it on their end either. That is why most of the times it can't/won't be fixed.

Please, don't. I wouldn't report it on forum if I hadn't done everything I could to ensure all is fine on my end.

There is your end, Cryptic end and many hops in between.
You think your end is good. Cryptic thinks its end is good.
There is nothing both side can do with whatever in between.
greywynd's suggestion is to check if there is some issue in between.

I personally do not have any disconnect for months. The only lag/rubberband that happened in months was in Winter Festival area when the instance was filled with people.

Yes, lag sucks and if there is a bottleneck somewhere it is hard to do anything about it. That being said, I can't even log in. Router reset, WAP reset, and I have almost 60Mbps download speed/6Mbps upload. I have also flushed my routing tables, just in case.

My issue appears to be with Akamai and mailout.perfectworld.com:

    Tracing route to pwigc4.perfectworld.com [66.151.133.70]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Looks like it is on Cryptic's end, or am I missing something?

Not sure why you tracert to pwigc4.perfectworld.com.

The suggested server to do tracert is patchserver.crypticstudios.com.

Note that the IP address subnet is totally different. I don't know where you went to.

    Mine goes to crypticstudios.com. 208.95.184.
    Yours went to perfectworld.com. 66.151.133.

Using DNS reverse lookup, 66.151.133.70 cannot be found.
    208.95.184.200 yields patchserver.crypticstudios.com as expected.

Thanks, I thought the address was a bit iffy. I got it from here:

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/pwi/#/discussion/1194404/traceroute-pinging-the-internet-and-you

Guess it was old data (and PWI)

I used 208.95.184.200 and got this:

    2 24 ms 20 ms 16 ms 10.30.0.1

don't know what's going on, tried two different computers.

I switched to the US proxy in the options dropdown and that seems to have worked.
