Empowered runestone defensive bonus isnt working

The defensive slots of companion gear, when equipped with Empowered runestones, aren't giving the player the HP bonus they should (with companion summoned and bondings equipped).
If we don't receive hitpoints from empowered runestones, then it shouldn't say so in the empowered's tooltip.

Empowered Runestones now state that their HP gain does not apply to augment companions.
