when I started this game in mod 12 paladin was the class I played, and I leveled up and then got the chult mace, and I was really upset that all the options for paladin were maces, I didnt want a mace, to me a paladin is like a knight with a SWORD, a mace is something for a cleric, not a paladin, I really don't know where they crossed their wires on this.

Anyone can swing a sword. A knight has to train twice as hard to wield a mace. The leverage point is your elbow, if you do not loosen your arm and let the head of the mace take the swing you can shatter your own wrist or arm with the blow. The trick is to let your elbow pivot with the weight of the weapon and let the mace use the rebound to naturally swing back to it's start position, readying itself for a second blow. ;)

I did not check but does the vendor in Underdark have a lot of old gear to sell for transmute purpose?

Update; That underdark chap has a haul of weapons! Well I'll be... tnks! :)

The trouble is I like the look of that mace +2, as a Kelemvorite Justicar.

    Spare the rod... ;)

Did you check AH? There are mace which are cheap.

Currently that is my major source of maces, but as they tend not to drop any more I do wonder how long my supplies will last. Professions could use an update so I can manufacture them as needed.

I don't understand what you mean by not dropping any more. It drops enough so that people could put them to AH. Some of them are "must drop" from mod 16 campaign quest. Look for the mace between level 71 to 80 (these are new drop since mod 16).

Hmm. Interesting. I've not seen one drop recently and I've spent some time looking. Tnks for that. I've seen many +4's on the market, but not so many +2's. It involves people actually putting them on which does not make them a reliable commodity. (Although they're so cheap I can buy them in bulk) I'd prefer a crafted one...

Go the AH. Choose Equipment. Choose Main Hand. Choose Paladin if you do not login as Paladin. In Level, put 71 to 80. Do not choose 'Usable by me'. I have just done that and there are 114 available. All these are dropped after mod 16 live and none of them has +4 (or +whatever).

Lots and lots of frilly maces. Nothing that looks like it'd be good for bashing demons or dragons. (and if I'm looking for cosmetic reasons it's got to look the way I want it) Gamblers mace is the one, and there was only one when I looked!

Lots of armour and cloaks but no weapons, if you're thinking of the one I'm thinking of. There are no weapons in the weapon vendor in Neverwinter... very few anywhere else.

The Gauntlgrym Supplier and the twisted ichor weapon merchant both sell just one mace. Just one in the Tradebar store too.

Gamblers came from campaign. That is some paladin got one from the campaign quest and then decide to put that to AH (instead of turning that to RP). If you want Gamblers, I suggest you to get as many as you can because it will be less and less when majority passed mod 16.

The one in the trade bar store is frilly. I'm not wanting to beat orcs to death with a doily.

There is a ceremonial mace in the Houses of Parliament. Your standard, combat mace would contain less floral decoration and more spikey bits, mostly because all the floral decoration had been flatened and broken on the head of a troll... :)

I shall check these out. Tnks.

I never knew about those ceremonial maces - really interesting.
    And you're right. They're ludicrous.

Have you seen the mace of the U.S. House of Representatives? You'd think it was a gag. That's no mace. It's a pole.

There is a +2 mace (partisans mace) in pirates skyhold for Blackdagger Gold Coins that I found while exploring Gauntlgrym, so there are maces out there. Why oh why are they so hard to locate Devs?

Wizard of the Coast; "How far should this wizard walk for good loot?"
Warlock; "No more than 50 feet"
Wizard of the Coast; "Ugh, a Paladin. How far for this one?"
Warlock; "400,000 cubits or more... depending on if they've already covered half that distance, fought at least one level 50 troll, inflicted 50,000 points of damage or more and brought a key. ;)"

I wasn't going to help derail the thread from "The Problem with Paladins" to "Where can I get Mace transmutes?", but since it is mostly the OP derailing his own thread I guess it's OK.

Several of my characters have a bunch of oddball weapon transmutes I've never used, including the Paladin. I don't recall exactly where they came from, but I believe most of them came from opening parcels during the Christmas event, and purchases from the CTA store when CTA events are running. Bluefire and Deathknell and Savage weapons, that kind of stuff.

Next time these events roll around you might want to take a look and see what you can get.

If you identify and remember where Mimics are found, they are a good source for OOP equipment items. I make a point of checking the one Thayan Magical Shelter whenever I run it. There are others. One Soshenstar patrol has a chance at a mimic.

    Runestead has a mimic too.

Yeah, double troll since its far from the normal area you run through.

It is slightly off topic, but I did actually mention it as an off topic in my opening post and it is a problem, with paladins. I've found no other class that cannot shop in PE. Yet, as paladins, we are required to fight and slay to get basic loot... locked behind area coinage.

    Questions of Paladin oathkeeper

    1- question:
Paladin had a beautiful thing in Neverwinter, his aura of healing (Bond of virtue) radiated to the ground, by far everyone knew that he was a healing paladin, now after the MOD 16 all this has disappeared :(
What I want to say is that I would like you to bring back, as a mechanic, (since the paladin justify has 3) the aura (only the aura) that existed in MOD 15 (the same visual effect, without buff) when you activates the Virtue Bond (when playing the paladin's devotion). only that.
It was beautiful that wave of aura that came out of her feet and shone all over the floor.

    2-Question:
Is it possible that the Monk class comes to the game? Please tell her she'll come? we are good to play.

    3-Question:
Paladino came from the mod 6 (evil elementary) and as he never had quests of his class, why?
Is there a possibility that you can put it on?
Obs: There is no quest for this class either in the game or on the official neverwinter wiki.

Who me? I may be a disciple of Kelemvor, but even that might be beyond my reach... ;)

    1. A lot of people hate it although I am not one of them. I am indifferent.
    2. Not this year. When? No official concrete response.

... and while I'm on the subject... where are all the maces? You... forget to put them in the game? At level 80 I can either have a generic mace, the wooden mace in the PVP building (a wooden mace!!! :) buy for astral diamonds, pick a lower level and buy (beat up weak bad guys) or hope that something drops, or get a sword! Come on, find a space for some cool looking maces in professions, please? ;)

Have you tried the vendor NPC's during events? They sell all kinds of transmutes.

Not to rerail the thread, but,
I've been spending a lot more time with my paladin and feeling better about it.
I don't feel as guilty about low contribution if I can keep aggro without getting really beat up. At the end of a match I look at the damage sustained scores, and if my score's low, but everyone else's score is even lower, I know I did good.

I've been focusing on encounters that don't use divinity, and free Bane. I've also resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be spending a lot of time wailing away with my at-wills so I've been using Sacred Weapon a lot. I've also been looking at companions with player bonuses that give a chance with each hit at some extra damage. Have a Death Slaad at the moment - not great, but trying to get five stacks gives me something to do while I hold down the at-will button. Still debating whether I should spend my Xune on that character.

The cool down for some of the non-divinity encounters still seem a bit too long, to me. And I would like to see a few more hybrid slots for the companion bonuses. Only one offense slot really limits things.

I wouldn’t mind it if tab would give about 25% of you’re hitpoints as temporary hitpoints and increased aggro by a little. Also have like 3 charges that take a long time but short notice inbetween fights

I like free bane, but it is really difficult when you're constantly looking at your shoes to see some of the special attacks... and sometimes a free bane will trigger a free bane. Always nice. But still, 300 second cooldown on encounter powers!

I'm currently using winter wolf as my companion. I like wolves! :)
I like the way that small groups of combatants will pause... when they see me. I like to think they are thinking "Oh. This one's pretty HAMSTER! Can we take it?" I'd love to know what it is that's causing that...

I'm still trying to get myself to use it.
Turns out I'm a divinity hoarder. Have to remind myself, you can't take it with you!

I have to say too, Relentless Avenger gives me such joy - swooping in like that. It's a beautiful thing. You can initiate block while you're in mid-air. Nice when you're throwing yourself into folly. You hit and land shield up.

I use up Divinity all in one shot, nearly all the time.
I wait 'till the enemy clusters around and burning light them. Then Bane them. (Sometimes I free Bane them again) if any are still standing I use the Gond Doohickey grenade on them.
Sometimes, depending on where you're fighting, there is still some hard dude still standing.
Daily Judgment and just at-will whaling time...
