To one-shot or to to not one-shot...that is the question

I don't know if this qualifies as a bug per se, but one really annoying aspect of doing Dragonflight is getting oneshotted by splat attacks where the attack hits either right as the red area appears or even before it appears. We run Dragonflight in our alliance every weekend and one huge gripe from everyone is the constant oneshotting at the hands of the red dragon with zero warning. You might as well not display any red area, because it does us no good when we're already dead.

    I'm experiencing the same thing in the Illusionist's Gambit skirmish.

    It doesn't happen all the time but when it does, something is one-shotting me. What makes matters worse is that I do not know what is doing it. In one case, all of the npcs in the arena were dead, but my character suddenly dropped dead from unspecified inflicted damage. There was no AoE marker - just instantly dead.

    I second the OP.

    The "stealth" one-shot in the red dragon fight is really beyond annoying and frustrating.
    And its not in one particular part of the graveyard, its all over.

    If I go to take out an empowerer... i get it there.
    If I'm on the steps... its there.

    What is probably the worse.. is if I'm moving to avoid the breath attack or another splat zone... I'll be out of those and then get one-shotted, because a splat zone appears that wasn't there before.


    Please address this.

    It's happened since the early days in lots of places, the smallest circles on the blue dragon are my pet hate, as they usually only appear after I'm dead. I haven't done eLoL for a while but the rocks that drop in the final room had that issue (I last did it after it was claimed that was fixed, but no different for me).

    Similar problem with giants in SKT, the rock damage appears to hit me after I'm a mile out of the area (which appears a little late), then I'm visually on my feet but the game thinks I'm still knocked down, which makes timing power use difficult. In the zone it's merely annoying, in FBI it's fatal and one of the reasons I don't do that dungeon.

    Thanks! This isn't a rare occurrence. It happens so often we've taken to counting how many times it happened to us in a single fight. I think the highest I've seen is 8.

    It doesn't happen all the time but when it does, something is one-shotting me. What makes matters worse is that I do not know what is doing it. In one case, all of the npcs in the arena were dead, but my character suddenly dropped dead from unspecified inflicted damage. There was no AoE marker - just instantly dead.

    One of the modes there is reflect damage, and since most of us do more damage than we have hitpoints we get one-shotted if it reflects. It's easy to miss that it has switched to that mode.
