Guild donations

Just wondering if they could implement I donation rewards system for the Guild Hall coffer. It seems like not everybody in the guild it's keen on donating or knows how to donate with a reward system players rewards would be based on a donation tier. At the end of each week the tier would reset the rewards would give people more of an incentive to donate.

The direct incentive is in the market place and whatever you can purchase in SH using guild mark. The indirect incentive is guild boons.

One may argue the stuff you can buy from SH needs to be improve and I agree. To improve the incentive, the stuff you can buy should be improved.

On the other hand, it is guild leaders/officers' job to inform their members why they should donate and what the benefits are.

If they added too much incentive it would lead to a great deal of abuse. The Guild Mark system is good. It could probably be improved in a few ways, but as a whole, it's a decent system.

The biggest thing they could do is to make marauders and DF fun and relevant. Rewards for marauders are not worth doing more than the minimum, and dragonflight gives nothing worth having any more.

The coffer is a mess, getting frozen currency for example is a complete pain because nobody wants to do IWD any more.

For 100,000 to the coffer, your guild needs to do 134 Biggrin. Each Biggrin gives 50 coins which is 750 to the coffer without bonus. I used to run Biggrin for 5 toon for weekly AD each week. If your guild can run 30 Biggrin per week, you will get 100K in 5 weeks.

Yup, but we need 900K+ to advance a tier for our overflow guild on our R14 SH (up our GH by 2 and other buildings by 1), that's the best part of a year at that rate.

Guild marks are pretty wothless for pre lvl 10 guilds that are not in an alliance with higher level guilds. Sadly (as most hings in Neverwinter) when dragon flights became reduntant and sh gear became useless there was no alternate use for it for all players just for some.

Actually you find a sympathetic higher rank guild that will allow you to temporarily join to spend your guild marks, is how I found the R20 guild I'm in now a long time ago when they had access to the original guild armor and my guild didn't.

Well, GMs are absolutely critical for Masterwork crafters. I had been collecting stuff for a while and donated enough to get close to 100.000 GMs during the current 2xGM event. Quite frankly, I don't need any more motivation to donate - the GMs make a very significant (but indirect) contribution to my income.

Stop waiting, spend boatloads of character time in the Neverwinter Siege for frozen, tyranny, dark and infl. voucher drops (up to 4 hours a day and then it drops off.

This is true. I must say i am in a big alliance that helps out greatly. The problem is when ... say a guild leader leaves a guild to spend currency in another guild. guildies might not take it that well o see their guild leader leave the guild

When we were pushing hard for influence, we would occasionally run a guild contest - each time you donated your daily influence (400), you got an entry. At the end of the week (or two), we did a random draw, and then let the winners grab from our contest tab in the guild bank. Everyone who donated got a chance to grab something, and it ranged from purple mounts and artifacts, to green of the same.

Of course, this assumes you have generous people in your guild, willing to forgo the AD of such items.

That is only one of many reasons. Guild should only get what it is willing to receive.

Coffer donations are logged and can be exported to Excel. As a guild leader, I never use the donation logs to "punish" members (it's a game, people should enjoy playing it) but sometimes use them as a reward. For example, if we need an Influence or Frozen Treasures push, I'll run a guild event like, "Every point of influence you donate between now and the end of Sunday (pacific) earns you one raffel ticket in a drawing to win a [Insert a decent but not extravagent prize]."

Wait. What? So, you're saying that large alliances primarily (only?) invite guilds in order to donate to their coffers? I can't see this as being true ... probably for anyone. Between my and my wife's characters, we can supply our guild with all the labor, gold, gems, surplus equipment, and astral diamonds that it requires. Due to this, I've disallowed alliance members donating those resources to our guild. Why should they donate it to us when there are other guilds in the alliance that may need those resources? After all, we certainly do not need them. Even if another guild in the alliance doesn't require those resources immediately, they're rarely at the coffer maximum and would probably still be appreciated by that guild's members.

I suppose the only time I can see this being true is if there is an alliance of only L20 guilds and they choose to invite a lower level and/or smaller guild to the alliance to give themselves something more to do.

I don't even see that would happen because there is a better/easier way to do that for the 'pure donation' purpose. They can always create a dummy guild for donation purpose. Trash it and make a new one when its coffer is filled up.

Yeah, large alliances normally invite other LARGE guilds, they are often full of labour, gems, surplus for long periods. The reason for inviting a small guild (and dropping their discount) is to be able to donate stuff to them.

Relentless Alliance, arguably the largest on PC, filled its most recent 3 vacancies specifically with lower ranked guilds that people could help build up. The primary consideration was that the prospective guilds be actively improving as we weren't looking to 'carry' but to help out. Yes, being able to donate for GMs was a positive, but the desire was to help others grow.

That said, most of our guilds typically disallow Labor donations from outside in order to allow members some chance to donate themselves before the coffer fills.

I know ours (basically every guild 18+ and mainly 20s) doesn't do this, and when one guild was stolen, another R20 was recruited to replace it.

We were all rank 20 and saw no advantage in recruiting other rank 20s. Its not like the discount was important. Having no ability to grow had created stagnation. Recruiting newer guilds has brought some more life.
