Idea for New Zen Market Item: Custom Titles

Cryptic, I would like to propose a small new item for the zen market that would sell well:

What if you could buy blank titles that you then fill in with whatever you want them to say? I can think of many instances where I had an awesome idea for a character title but couldn't use it because you can only equip prewritten titles.

To keep the existing titles that you have to earn distinct, you could change the text color for all prewritten titles. For example, maybe all prewritten titles are written in red and all custom titles are written in blue? That way people can't fake titles they didn't actually earn and people can now let their imaginations run wild.

Your players love to buy items that give them more cosmetic options. Quite a few people have asked for things like more fashion items and transmutes and this concept is right up that ally.

It would require massive vetting, in many languages. I like the idea, but do not see it happening soon.

As previous replies have mentioned, there would have to be a large number of safeguards in place to limit abuse/inappropriate language. It's a nifty idea in theory but not sure about the practicality of implementation.

As an example of this, many Americans are amused to have the common abbreviation for Sudden Storm removed by the profanity in-game filter. Germans fully understand.

I got sidetracked from this thread a while ago but just thought of something. I don't see why you couldn't just do the exact same thing that Cryptic does for character names and chat to tackle the title misuse issue. Can the name and chat filters already in place not be copied over to titles?

Also, name and chat filters can already be bypassed and to be honest, I think cracking down on name misuse, crude humor, and profanity is inherently doomed to fail. Cryptic can (and does) limit the problem some but that's the best you are gonna get. We shouldn't be scratching off good ideas just based on fear of a problem that already exists and cannot be fixed anyways.

I have a feeling this is one of those great ideas that, in the end, is just too hard to manage so it will not happen.

This would essentially ruin the current Title system. The amount of vetting and programming would be btetter spent elsewhere.

You might be right about this being too much trouble to program but I don't see how this would "ruin the current title system". If you are worried about earnable titles losing their value, I came up with a solution for that earlier in this thread:

This is an idea I can get behind. But at least make it so you can't name your title one that already exists in the game.

The only way I could see additional titles being added to the Zen market would be if there was a pool of say 100 titles, then you buy a “Hero Title Pack” where you get a roll of 5 random titles. Titles would be account wide and additional packs would not duplicate titles you’ve already purchased.
