SW 12b bug fixes?

merhunesdagon1merhunesdagon1 Member Posts: 146 Arc User
So I took a little break form the game, and noticed on the forums were a giant list of bugfixes dealing with just about everything you can imagine. I've been hearing the TRs will be recieving some buffs and read over some of the SW fixes. Will any of that stuff be implemented in 12b or should I not hold my breath? some of the things I'm referring to is PoP critting(sounds like a nerf) and other fixes like some powers not proccing creeping death, or proccing certain weapon enchants. I'm having trouble finding these specific fixes on the forum since they are mostly drowned out by other ppl posting bugs. Im just a nob trying to catch up with everything thats going on. any feedback would be appreciated.

Scourge Warlock Bugs: To be Fixed!
Vampiric Embrace now correctly adds Temp HP with Curse Consume.
Wraith's Shadow: The re-activation of this power should now have its damage properly increased by Warlock's Curse.
Fiery Bolt: The Curse Synergy of this power should now be based off of the damaged target, rather than the Warlock's target.
Soul Scorch: Should now correctly deal its initial damage as a DoT over 6 seconds (instead of 5/6ths of its damage).
Pillar of Power now has the ability to Critically Strike.
Pillar of Power was changed so that some parts of it are semi-transparent and it is now possible to clearly see AoE indicators through it.
Killing Flames no longer spawns a soul puppet that immediately despawns and deals no damage.
Murderous Flames feat should no longer be affected by level based mitigation twice.
Immolation Spirits: The spirits summoned should now properly have their damage increased by Warlock's Curse (and Tyrannical Curse).
Tyrannical Curse debuffs for 25% instead of 20%.
Tyrannical Curse stacks with Brutal Curse for up to 35% damage debuff effectiveness.
Tyrannical Curse: The actual damage done by this power will no longer be double-mitigated by higher level enemies. Damage debuff effectiveness should no longer be decreased against level 73 mobs. Tyrannical Curse should no longer be detrimental to cast in single target situations.
Tyrannical Curse: This power should now correctly benefit from Armor Penetration.
Flames of Empowerment artifact class feature now works as intended.

    Add to the list:
Feytouched fixes: this includes the Feytouched – Pillar of Power bug.
Entity based abilities and weapon enchants: Discussion by the developers’ intent on the proc (for enchants that have procs) firing once on activation of the ability. This means that "entity" based powers should proc initially and no more after that. If there is a case where something needs to work different it should be noted in the tooltip. An example of a special case would be channeled spells because you are locked into that spell as long as you are using it.
Weapon Enchantments not procing at all: All of these should now be working properly.

    What's intended:
Tyrannical Curse is not intended to stack with Warlock’s Curse.
Soul Scorch should not have its curse effect triggered by Tyrannical Curse because it is a Curse Consume and you cannot consume Tyrannical Curse.
Soul Scorch was dealing the cursed damage, but it happened to be missing 1 tick of damage so it appeared like it wasn't getting boosted by Warlock's Curse.
Brood of Hadar's Bite is not increased by Warlock's Curse because the damage is based off of the initial hit (which is affected by the Curse damage bonus).

You may win a thousand fights, but you can only lose one.

Most of the bugs being fixed in the October Bugfix Thread aren't slated for release until after Mod 12b (Sword of Chult) and some were stated as possibly being slated for Mod 13 (Here's a compliation of the fixes being made from the Bugfix Thread). Also, take a gander here to see what is in the current list of patch notes (subject to change) for the Swords of Chult update coming very soon.

So. Tyrannical Curse once again become only one daily power.
Funny, @amenar, rework intention where to reduce players depending on one daily power. But with this change, all goes back.

I don't think TC will be the best single target dps daily again, we'll see once those changes go live though o.O

Tyrannical Curse stacks with Brutal Curse for up to 35% damage debuff effectiveness.

And just to remind that before mod 10 Tyrannical Threat provided 35~40% dmg increase for curse affected target.. More less same as you get now with this change..

Next, daily powers seems do not proc Weapon enchantments, while encounters do.
Next, What do you think players would pick, 35% debuff effect for boss fight and increase over all dmg output, or they will spent AP for FoE or Brood of hadar ??

Also as Soulbinder which spam SS encounter it will be even more beneficial, because TC can't be consumed with SS as regular curse. Thats extra reason why players will use only TC..

    And this is my opinion..

Once those changes go live it will be interesting to see how TC does vs single target daylies especially if considering that the new debuff system may diminish its dps bonus in a pretty harsh way therefore being inferior to version of mod 10 and before.

There are some sticking to the class because they like the playstyle and invested in it, there are those who unknowingly started playing the game happily as a SW with no clue what unbalanced mess they are to meet, and those who are waiting for the final push to make them leave the game :)

So they fixed this trick. Pity. And seems my SB loadout become worthless too.

So.. we have to wait 6 months or maybe 1 freaking year until those broken stuff/things are fixed ? and i am not even talking about buffs.
How can anyone still play this class LOL.

    templocks waited 6 mods, Nothing.
And you expect that after 6 month or year some changes will happens.. Kinda naive.
Because, in mmorpg games are lot of stuffs need to be done. And all time is tasks prioritization. And largest class populations are priority, and lowest populated classes have lowest priority.
Companies will not spend money and time for stuff which no one will use.

So Less SW = lower priority, leads that devs push SW stuffs in back, and pick it when have free time frame. Which as you understand is always full of tasks. And that lead to locked chain.
No SW rework> players got dissapointed> quiting game or SW> SW population drops> priority decrease> rework pushed in back> players dissapointment and it's repeating.

Wrong, sw population was very high until mod 6 came out... nerf/change of lifesteal... and BIG nerf of damnation paragon and many more nerfs after. Cryptic keeps destroying more and more every mod and you say they don't have time to Fix our broken stuff/things nor have time to buffs us LOLOL... yet they do have the time to nerf us LMAO.

Mod 4 (SW release) most of dungeons parties where either with full warlocks or at least 2 of them. Warlock where overwpowered to that moment. But thats how where with all classes. They got introduced, and latter got their powers adjusted(common practice within mmorpg industry).

Mod 5, SW population slightly decreased, Crowd mania to start/check/test new class ended, and players back to their original characters, some remained as warlock...

Mod 6 Known by couple names.
    Glasscanon crusher.
Paladins introdution and his Glorious days. (hard days for GF)
Glorious days for CC and self healing based characters(CW, DC. OP)
And as warlocks we know it as > mod 6: warlocks holocaust.

98% of all remained SW population respected to Soulbinder( except me and couple others). Because only SB with Soul sparks and Borrowed time could sustain decent Hp restoring within combat.

    Mod 7 Stronghold introduction.
Glasscanon return< small SW population increase.. Due hope that SH boons will sustain SW within combat.

Mod 8. Underdark, not much change here, Yet slightly higher population that in mod 7, due more guilds had decent Life steal or defence boons.

Mod 9: Maze engine Sw population increased a lot<. And mostly due Tyrannical Threat + Hadar grasp glitch, which allowed players melt any target, heck even demogorgon within seconds.. + more guilds where with maxed boons(not whole guilld, but boons).

After glitch got fixed, we get high SW population decrease. It where to more less prior mod 9 state.

Mod 10 SKT : SW "rework" Untill it's rework, There where just 1~5% Hellbringers of all warlocks population(I was one of them).
and I wrote "rework", because @amenar, only fixed some glitches. Also reworked TT to TC which seems where working not as intended since mod 4....
And mostly rework where to rework SW to bring back Hellbringers from dead point. Some powers get 40% power increase. But even after these stuffs we lost 10% performance.

After rework we can notice slight SW increase. + I started promote temptation warlock(lost/abandoned build).

Mod 10.b Sea of Moving Ice
Slight sw population increase, plus players start to pick SW not just as Fury(dps) but as templock(heal), or fury/temp hybrids.
Plus some Damnation SW appeared in that time.

Mod 11 + 11.b - The Cloaked Ascendancy. SW population more less remained same as in mod 10.b. Some top end SW quited. Some remained.
    Mod 12,
Dissapointments and SW population decrease. Almost same what we had prior mod 10.
Mod 12.b (current)> Well. Seems Top Warlocks already out of game. <
Some higher end remained, but for how long is just question. From all my known Major/famous SW's. Most of them already playing with other classes. Almost non of them play SW as main. Others, quited game.

As templock also lost meaning. Paladins got some fixes, and now with SKT campaign boons interaction, healadin outdps, out heal, out support templock.

Not much remained to do. Damnation dead for sure. Templock lost meaning. Fury can try compete with heal DC in term of dealt dmg.

Owlbear cub companion changing also is big hit toward SW. Pillar of Power rework so it could crit also is big hit toward SW.

I found way to land Crit Tyrannical Curse, so all TC hits would crit. Even with ACC class feature + Infernal Wrath Feat(Fury),
Dps output can't get close to dmg which CW or GWf done with Lightning enchantment.

You would day, it's not so bad, there are still warlocks players within game. Thats true, but, most of them are mid or maybe higher end. Not top end(maxed), and also most of them don't play SW as main.

Have spoken with players who not so long hit 14k GS with SW. 78% of disappointing, and quiting.

Some would say,, just wait little bit more and devs will rework.. Yeah sure. But,

During maintenance, in start was said, When Thomas Foss aka @mimicking#6533 , will get on screen he will answer questions about SW and TR stuffs.. And when he appeared, there where no talks about SW or TR reworks. All what I understand staff have work for next 2 mods.

And if you or others think that warlocks or rogues will wait this long, well you are extremely naive.

Personally I also decide to step away. Through time, from mod 4 up to mod 10 where hellbringer fury sw, where bad days, and where legendary bad days. And I didn't quit, because I do not afraid hard fight, I do not afraid challenges. But current state is not even challenge, it's warlocks trolling. Most weapon enchantments don't work with our powers, there are campaign boons who also don't work with warlock powers.

So more less I staying to help guild to finish build guild hall lv 20, which I can bet will be done within next 20 days.
    After that, bye bye.

And no need spin words around, warlock as class is dead. No more talks need, nothing will change.

Agreed, pretty much dead. Tried a dungeon yesterday, was just really hard to believe my eyes. A few weeks away from the game and it's come to this. It's weird because it doesn't seem like much has changed by looking at the patch notes. Somehow it's worse. I'm probably underestimating the effects of those little changes. I usually do 5-man dungeons with the same group of friends and I was being outdpsed by a GWF I taught to play, 2k below my IL and with rank 10/11 bondings.

I didn't do any hard testing but TC didn't feel like any increase in damage on single targets. And honestly I really don't feel like testing it. Considering it's a debuff, and subject to diminishing returns, it's probably worse than a regular curse at certain conditions.

Like some, I'm glad I made a paladin and he's already way more useful, probably not much lower dps, even though slightly lower IL. And since everything got unlocked on him yesterday, it's more incentive for me to play it.

I can't say I have been actually playing. I'm basically just collecting vip keys, and some professions to help our guild level up. Even though I could "enjoy" the game with my paladin or even with a next to bis gwf from a friend who quit the game a few months ago, I just can't do it somehow. The interest is lost midway through the first dungeon I join . Specially considering how I'm not smart enough to figure out new features, such as the sort all bags thing. The game is probably not for me.

The changes for TC, etc. are not live yet. TC still has lower damage vs single target, and most fixes coming are not released. Only the owlbear cub nerf

Btw, interesting little treat here (though a little wait to get it). The devs made a thread about the SW class and improvements that will come in mod 13. Would be nice to get the rework earlier, but that is the date they have set till now at least.

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1235687/official-m13-scourge-warlock-changes

Temptation SW looks very nice + some Fury changes seems very nice as well!

No 1 will wait that long.. it's not worth playing a broken + underpowered + slow casting class + most nerfed class ever.

Pvp sounds pretty messed up then, it fell off my radar for the time being anyway as been grinding stuff for my toons.

True about mod 13, changes are too minor and don't address the issues of the class.

I'll buy more loadouts because I'm missing couple possible builds, I want SB PvP build too, SB/HB for PvP, a Templock PvE build I use in TONG or otherwise wherever is demanded, like in random que, and for mod 13 Templock PvP build too. Currently I only have 3 loadouts, HB Templock PvE buffer, SB Fury DPS PvE and my hybrid PvP HB build.
I bought the max amount of loadouts slots when zen was 50% off, I will use 1 or 2 in mod 13 to see what those fury feats will do when scaling with buffs and power but I highly doubt they will change state of SW a little if at all, the developer did not consider the problems of the class and seemed to just randomly buff feats in a way that pretty much leaves us in the same spot vs other classes.
