mysterious merchant

isn't the mysterious merchant supposed to be random in it's offerings? if you have two guilds with mysterious merchants shouldn't they have different things? our guild, and another guild in the alliance have him and it's the exact same thing. then I went over to ps4 to check out the sale (Which is a bust) and then looked at the merchant there and he has the EXACT same thing as the xbox merchants.

is this working as intended or did i misunderstand how he worked?

Hi fireside. There are multiple iterations of the inventory the Merchant can offer. While there is a current issue being looked at on PC where guilds are getting the same selection twice in a row, the aspect of guilds within the same alliance getting the same inventory is working as intended. The merchant selection offerings is tied to the guild itself, not all the guilds within the alliance.

The PS4 thing is likely a coincidence but please let me know if you see this again.

I saw someone else mention from pc what was in their selection and it was the same thing I've seen on both ps4 and xbox atm. I have 5 data points and they ALL have the same inventory. granted that's a small selection but that's quite a coinkydink

edit someone from another guild just posted on a facebook forum showing the exact same thing as selection. seriously if they can do a query to see if it's all the same or not they should. from what I've witnessed so far EVERYONE has wiselys wrist guards and executioners black attire.

The mysterious merchant in my guild (Legacy) also has Wiselys Wrist Guards and Executioners Attire... As does every other guild merchant I have visited in TLO alliance

Hi Julia, I've yet to hear of any guild in any alliance where there are variations in the offer (some examples above). This week, several of our guilds have decided to not bother getting the merchant as their members can get the same stuff from another guild hall.

This suggests that it is not working as intended. It could of course just be a 'starting point' problem and that variations will be introduced as the weeks progress.

buttonmashers made him and reported same as last week. I haven't checked it out yet. imo we shouldn't build it this week until they patch lol

Same at every guild in TLO alliance that have built it this week too.

I guess we'll be waiting till mod 12 before it's worth building the merchant again, smh.

i'm sure they'd push out a fix for this before mod 12

This is very expensive for the Guilds, and even worse that we are being promised that everything is working as intended.

And now every single guild on both Xbox and Playstation are getting the exact same items in the Mysterious merchant, two weeks in a row.

This needs to be fixed, and not just ignored until it's mentioned in the copy/pasted & butchered PC patch-notes we get a couple of hours before the next mod is live...

Borg MM is broke as well, they need to fix this and compensate the guilds it was a known issue on PC and yet again they bring it to us broken as well, after the issue was evident on PC.

If not doing Masterworks this and the recruiter are the two most important temp structures for a guild they should be wai (the recruiter is).

still no official comment on this after the community has all uniformly agreed on the problem! (I mean really how often do we ALL agree... unanimously.. how often? LOL)

Button mashers have made the merchant on at LEAST 3 different times, and we got the same gear again today.

thing that makes me laugh is they say they can't bring updates out on console and pc at the same time because console updates have to go away and be verified and certified yet the same bugs are on pc always end up on the console, I'd love to bloody know why it takes 3 months to be certified yet all these bugs still end up getting through? too many lies i think

my guess is they are ready about the same time or as near as makes no difference and it takes that long for the programs to be accepted and verified. by the time (or something along these lines) pc bug is discovered and the fix worked on the content for consoles is still worming its way thru the approval process. providing a list of known bugs would be nice as part of the patch note for new content so we weren't expecting the fix that pc already got though.

I think that the verification process is the issue.
When PC goes live on a mod, we're waiting for the verification on it. But PC immediately begins reporting any bugs/issues.
These get fixed through the patch at maybe the same time the content launches on console.
THEN... we have to wait for the patch veification process before we get it.

There's no way to avoid this, short of holding console launch back till after PC patch one has happened, and verified for console. Which means weeks more on the gap between platforms... DEFINITE non starter.

What I think would help, is for the devs to accept and own this situation, and at the point of console launch make a clear statement of known issues. NOT buried in a release somewhere that only a few people read it, or leave it to players to check PC fora to see what is likely to go wrong.
" Look, guys, we know there is a problem with this, this and this... we are developing the patch to fix this, and subject to verification, we will patch XX days/weeks after PC."

The only people who'd moan about that are the ones who don't understand the verification requirements for consoles, and something like this would go some way towards educating them
