Does anyone know the specific rules on how you acquire power points after reaching level 70? I've "leveled" 3 or 4 times now past 70 and have only received one power point and some fairly useless enchants and refinement stones. are the rewards you get after leveling past 70 random or is there a specific way i can get power points?

You can also farm them specifically, in sharandar campaign window, the task is "Assist Wat Effort" (top left task on pc, not sure on PS4 though)

I just wish they would add in some code like -- if player has gone so many levels without receiving a power point the chances are multiplied per level. So if you level 3 times without receiving one of their RNG math power points it could look something like this -- 10.0%(powerpoint) x 3(levels) = 30% chance powerpoint over flow loot.
The more levels you go without, the more likely the chance to get a power point.

The incentive for rank 4 abilities is more effects/stronger capabilities. Limiting the amount of power points a character can get would only force respec tokens on them. With all being capable of ranking to 4, characters can just switch out abilities as they see fit.
Once you get all the power points it "should" be removed from the "RNG" table allowing the other rewards to be granted more often.

Regardless- that system is not going to happen. Like I said earlier i would prefer them add a multiplier for PPs per level gone without receiving one.
You can't have all abilities usable at the same time, you have to pick which ones you you want (specialization), not to mention the paragon paths, heroic and paragon points, you can't change those without respeccing so there's character specialization right there and on top of it depending on the paragon path and what the paragon points are specced into reduces or increases the effectiveness of the chosen abilities, again, specialization there as well.

Then again I played back before they turned DnD into a rules nightmare where you need 15 rolls just to successfully grapple. limiting to 5 power points doesn't help because you know what? One a character is maxed out, players lose interested in playing those characters both in pnp and in console gaming
there IS a max to the number of power points that you can get.
My TR doesn't need many power points and she's good. 5 would have been plenty. A healer will need more. My tank would probably be okay with 5, I'm guessing that a CW would need more than 5 as well.
Also 5 doesn't cover the basics of 2 at-wills, 3 encounters and 2 personal (unless you are a CW they get that extra encounter) and doesn't cover if you actually are one of those people who changes powers depending on situations.
Whatever you play clearly doesn't need many - just know that others do.
And in this game when you limit the characters what you end up with is 99% of the people all playing the same build, with the same gear or working on obtaining that same gear. There is no real specialization in this game.

Not saying it should be this way or they should put it in this current game.
In dnd if you want to be an archer - you are either a rogue, or a ranger - and then you specialize in bows. You aren't a druid with a bow...
Also remember "turn undead?" where did that go? Or the cleric mace?
Or that paladins do huge amounts of damage and could heal some (but weren't considered your main healer)
Or that as a mage you can cast ANY SPELL in your spell book that you have memorized - not 3-4
This is so far from dnd... which is sad because I wanted it to be dnd.

The current system still makes players have specialized characters, it's just one portion of that specialization can be interchanged without respeccing (encounters, at-wills, dailys).

Good thing i didn't bring up perma death...you would probably be up in arms about that!! ROFL
In other words a character marked as "permadeathable" can get increased "RNG" rolls or something, maybe even "permadeath" zones where when you die on one you can't enter again until the next day or something...

And yes i remember that. The subclasses were awesome and you had to even put points into what type of armor you wanted to wear. And you could split off subclass to be a hero class(??) Fighters >Paladin>>Black Guard.

I'm working on the last boon in both shar and dread; so I've added icewind dale now to the dailies. I'm lucky if i can get in a couple hours a day.
On the other point previously mentioned, some classes can easily get by with 4 points in just a few skills as they never need to change skills - the GWF for example. Other classes have to swap skills depending on whether they are fighting mobs or bosses or doing solo dailies or running in groups.
The Paladin is a prime example of this, I actively use 17 different powers (3 at-wills, 7 encounters, 4 class features & 3 dailies) and mess about with another 3 or 4. To be fair it's taken me about a year to earn all the power points I need and I play a ridiculous amount.
