Ability to Aggro Mobs more than 7 levels below character

On only one of my characters, I now have the ability to aggro mobs that are less than 7 levels below me, just by standing next to them. I first noticed it in Pirate Skyhold as I was doing an Underdark quest, the level 43 mobs were attacking my character.

So, I tested the response in Blacklake, with level 6 mobs.

Level 6 mobs will attack my Level 70 even if:
1) I have no summoned companion
2) I remove all companions from active slots
3) I have no doohickey
4) I change mounts in active slots
5) I strip naked of all items and artifacts.

When I examine the mobs, there is no icon on the mob that would show that I am aggroing or affecting them in any way.

There must be some combination by which I am now aggroing mobs that are programmed not to attack anything greater than 7 levels. The only thing I have not done yet is respec and go empty on powers, attributes, boons, and feats, and add them one by one to see what happens.

What class? Do you have a passive that deals damage? OP class feat can deal aoe damage within xx feet from the target... Just a thought...

The Xvim set will do that if you sidle up to an enemy before Might of the Slayer Knight expires.

Behe, I checked both Blacklake and Skyhold after you logged out and it was working normally for me. Perhaps if you did a fresh import onto the preview server, it would be easier to test?

Sounds like you have a passive that is pumping out damage.

or heals. I think heals can aggro too. maybe not.

Switch to the "log" tab in your chat and you can see if your character is doing any nonesense or whatnot.

Happens to me too (GF) - I've worked out it's the combination the passive feat Combat Superiority & the artifact class feature "Combat superiority now also generates threat on affected targets".

Yes, this happens with certain paladin auras, and also the Damnation SW feat that makes the soul puppet radiate damage.

I think I had that happen to my GF in Neverdeath, pretty sure nothing had changed and it didn't used to happen before. not sure if it happened more than once tho

The issue is what llewelyn pointed out. The combat superiority was slotted as a class power, and I used combat superiority as the OH's aggro mechanism. When you get close to mobs, it aggros them, even without dmg. The OH is supposed to generate threat on CS dmg, but it actually just generates an AoE threat. I have to be near the mob to aggro. But, it aggroes everything, regardless of level.
