Sea of Moving Ice large HEs need to be reworked

urabaskurabask Member Posts: 2,923 Arc User
I've gotten to do ONE because a guildmate saw it. Both weapons need 20 mats and 2 rare drop mats from these HEs. Turtle Moults are going for 50k and evermelt springwater/frozenfar mistletoe are going for 600k. All because of the terrible spawn rate on the big HEs. Can't even imagine grinding out the Storm Giant reputation without them either. No one is going to do HE runs with small HEs. I don't understand why they changed the design here but having multiple large HEs like SKT did would make a lot more sense. Having one large HE that spawns really slowly is just stupid. As it stands now everyone is spamming chat trying to get into large HEs and if you aren't in the zerg already you're screwed. Something needs to change because otherwise we just have to fish our minds out for the turtle moult and buy the epic restoration HAMSTER off the AH.

Either that, or the devs thought people in mod 3 had enjoyed looking for the black ice beholder HE in IWD. What fools we were for doing it when there was a high likelihood we would never ever see the BI piece drop.

They fixed the SG reputation. Do one Quest get 100 Rep (and one bonus point). I now have 5, but not 3200 IL.

I just can't imagine that this was intended. Evermelt Spring water is a restoration material for the rough gems so I'd assume they'd want it in much higher supply than it currently is so that people could justify using one just to restore a gem worth 250k RP. At the moment just that restoration mat is worth 600k+ AD (if you get one when there are actually any on the AH). The only way you really see more of them drop is via HEs or treasure maps so one or the other has to become easier.

The devs are probably waiting for enough people to have found Epic Kyheks in treasure chests to put together a 'viable' zerg group to do them before fixing the problem >:) You can't zerg between BHEs in 50%-80% boats :D

I was talking about this yesterday, and it's just one of the problems with having HEs in this game. It would be better if they just create a map and string these big HEs together (without the fishing one), and allow us to que for it. I would give it a name which doesnt seem to exist in this game anymore - "SKIRMISH".

Because other than the same-day emergency maintenance to try to fix the camera zooming problem, they haven't actually run a patch since the update launched. There are lots of problems I'd like to see fixed this week, but until they schedule a patch, there's not much point in complaining that X isn't magically fixed already somehow.

We were aware of the issue last week and have a fix in testing internally that we're aiming to push as soon as possible. I apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused. I would also like to apologize for the delay in acknowledging the issue. Thank you all for your reports and your continued patience.

    Thanks for the update!

I know it seems silly, but communication like this goes a long way. Anything to continue the dialog and keep the community engaged/updated will work to your advantage in the long run.

As I have on many occasions before, I encourage you to continue to be more proactive about communicating with the community. It really does your team a disservice when the community is frustrated by lack of communication. In the same way, a more open dialog would foster a stronger community more patient and willing to help continue testing and providing feedback <3
