Post level 70 campaign order

Is there an order for running the campaigns (Maze Engine, Elemental Evil, Dread Ring, et.al.) that works best? Thanks in advance for the help.

Technically? no. It depends on whether you want to run the to maximize the speed of completion or whether you want to absorb the content in a logical order from a story perspective.

If you want to follow the story, start Elemental Evil at lvl 60, then do Sharandar (it will open before lvl 70 now... can't recall.. 65?) then do Dread Ring (ignore the demonic HEs... well, DO them, but pretend they're not demoic HEs since they shouldn't yet exist storyline-wise), then do Maze Engine, then Underdark (actually both of those at the same time really), then Icewind Dale, then Storm King.

You should have started Tyranny of Dragons very early on, and you get into Well of Dragons to complete the second part of that campaign once you hit 70. From a story perspective, it's sort of on it's own running parallel to the Valindra story (which culminates in Dread Ring), and the Demonic storyline which never really comes to a solid end (you kill Baphomet in Maze Engine and Demogorgon in Underdark - along with Orcus in Castle Never, but that's not actually associated with a campaign). It's much more efficient if you do ToD while you're leveling though, so hopefully you did that :). IWD and SKT dovetail nicely and don't really interact with any of the other storylines, so I'd recommend (again from a story perspective), doing them last.

If you want to maximize efficiency and don't care that the storylines are all crossed up, start ToD as you're leveling, then hit EE at 60 then Sharandar as they come available. You won't be done with Sharandar by 70, but start Maze Engine and Underdark at 70 anyway since neither takes much extra time to do the dailies. If you happen to play enough, you can also start Dread Ring and/or WoD - WoD can be a little hard on new 70s though, so be careful - might make sense to hold off until you gear and boon up a bit. Likewise, I'd hold off on Icewind Dale and Storm King until you're better geared and have at least some of the boons from the other areas since they're a little harder to run solo at first. There's no reason to do them in order though - you can do both at the same time if you want.

I don't know that there's necessarily one that works "best", but I hit level 70 before completing all the campaigns and went back and did them in "order".

If you do EE first, you may want to consider completing Spinward Rise before the others so you get the artifact weapon.

The order they appear in the campaign interface is fine, bottom to top.

I wouldn't expect it to work this way anymore (but also have not brought any more alts through that didn't do Spinward the old way).

A thousand times this. Even having my gear and a few boons, I was consistently and rapidly converted to a puddle of goo in this zone. If you haven't been building up your boons and feats in a sensible and deliberate way, take the opportunity to re-spec before going into WoD or IWD.

If you are capable, do all of them at the same time. The only one that is not time gated is EE. EE is not as bad as before. Pretty straight forward and don't need to repeat any quest like before. Just don't do the optional quests unless you want to play them for "fun".

The only optional quests I have found are to kill enemies and do HEs. It is almost impossible to run the campaign without doing the former. The latter, well whatever. In some regards, you might as well.

You should definitely do Spinward as soon as you get close to level 70, about 68 or so. Group up for the lairs if necessary but getting the starter artifact weapon set is a big plus. And seconding that you might as well take the Kill 100/200/400 enemies quests as you go, even if you're at 70 already. Running the zones, you will kill that many mobs and more.

Running mods 1 and 2 concurrently is definitely doable. Don't forget that you can stockpile quests as long as you get daily sparks and lair completions.

I asked a similar question a while back... here is that thread, it contains some helpful information! :)

I would like to thank everyone for their inputs, they have been very helpful. I have Tyranny of Dragons, Elemental Evil, and Maze Engine already complete. I think I will just keep working on Icewind Dale and Well of Dragons since I am about halfway through each (I mean, how many Yetis can you kill for Gurth before it becomes tedious?). I started those two while working on Maze Engine to give myself something to do during 30 days of daily quests.

For IWD, you can speed up a bit if you also do the demonic daily quest (finish 3 demonic HE).

was re reading this topic and noticed you refered to Tyranny of Dragons and Well of Dragons. Game is down for maintenance so I will try to remember to check as the campaign is listed twice, however I thought it was all the same name.

Anyway I was going to suggest you can go along with the Stronghold Support and spread it out if you are in no rush. Each day the Stronghold will give you a campaign area to work on and you get a voucher to put in coffer for it. You can also grab the complete 3 stronghold HE and do 3 demonics in the stronghold alongside the kill 100 enemy. That works towards the underdark campaign. You will have to do the SKT on your own as its not tied to the stronghold. EE and ME are not tied in either but you say you completed those already.

As suggested and I recommend to do the demonic daily in the campaign zones that offer it. I do not go out of my way to complete it if no one in zone is doing the demonic HE but i do try to remember to pick it up. Some days I can get all 3 done and others no one is around so i just save it for another day.

    Hope this helps.

Mods 4 and 5 have separate campaign pages technically, but you can do the mod 4 tasks using the mod 5 page, even if you haven't unlocked the later content.
