The Masquerade of Liars Creeps In!

The Masquerade of Liars creeps into Neverwinter with treats so good you’ll turn into a sprinter. Enjoy the night sky and the glorious costumes for the fright is so high with spooky lost tombs. (Excuse my terrible rhyming; I was on a time crunch!)

The Beholder Piñata no longer drops excessive numbers of Liar’s Charms.

This strikes me as needlessly stingy, but I don't remember how many Charms used to drop.

Please make the enchants drop decent r5, r6 but a limit per day per account, droping r3 and r4 is just a mess to colect organize them all.

I remember that it was quite a few. I want to say 30ish per pinata. Dunno that it needed a nerf (nerf all the things that benefit players!), but each pinata was liable to generate a couple more pinatas if you traded all the charms for loot bags.

This year, we’ve added in a new Artifact to the event.

Probably leftover text from last year's post?

    Fair enough.

(Banking on there not being a second artifact.)

    Hey!, Hi... just a thought:

The event shows the best look of PE and a charming atmosphere, really. It also has some nice items like masks, dyes, a companion, etc (good for that, keep adding new of those and will be nice too).

But a detail about the artifact: It's great to get one free artifact with a decent combination of stats, but please, DON'T BE SO MISERLY. Nowadays any player needs the 4 artifacts in legendary to start been competitive in both PvE/PvP. And that requires some good amount of RP and AD, and not even start mentioning mythic artifacts, enchants, artifact gear, etc etc. Sooooo, getting one damn legendary artifact for free (or totally free and easy to upgrade it to legendary) to momentaneous lessen the hugh grind of 1 of 4 of 10k things a player needs will not harm anybody and/or the economy!!!! Because you know, 'til epic is free and blablabla, but then to rank up 2 bloody levels in epic itself are more or less the same amount of RP needed to get to epic in 1st place. And I'm not even talking about seasoned players, just some help, a gesture for rookies or players building an alt. An epic artifact would have been okk and work out in Mod 2 or 3, not now, we are far away from that. Think about that (pppffff!, I know you won't ¬¬ but the point is good anyway!).

P/D: And if you want an event to be a success, add a cool epic and legendary mount as rare rewards... or any remarkable and expensive item. For example in this event: doing one of the daily quests you get a bag and keep participating in the event give you extra tokens to buy more of the mentioned bag, which give trash (as always) but also a chance of an epic or legendary mount (like Portobello's or Summer Festival). And boaláá!, you have a continuos flow of dreamer people playing the event.

I mean, come on!, you should already know what most seasoned players think/regret about the game: "It could have been a SO DAMN EPIC GAME!!!" one in a million, but no, you keep it here, spinning around in the mortal plane, after 3 years... so sad :(. Never the less, we keep a tiny piece of faith, 'cause we are humans :P... see you around :).

Are the fun potions that let you change form and size endless use now or are they still pointless to buy?

I have not smashed many of my remaining pinatas from last year, but of those I did, one of them dropped exactly 0 charms. I don't think that's acceptable.

The pinatas drop minor healing potions (suitable for level 15 characters... although a level 15 character cannot break a pinata without help), rank 1 enchants, and inventory-clogging fireworks and party poppers. The event foods are actually somewhat decent since they've been fixed, but assuming they're still character-bound, they also create an inventory nightmare. The entire thing has shifted from being worth dealing with the hassle due to the large quantity of charms dropped, to downright insulting.

And can we talk about the obsession with shoving a million fireworks into our bags at almost every event? Sahha was the worst offender yet, but almost every event forces "novelties" on you that you have to deal with in some way, use or sell or discard. I *love* the fireworks and iceworks animations, and I feel wretched about not getting to use them all, but I've had to vendor thousands of them because the quantities dumped on us are completely unreasonable. And I couldn't even light off fireworks for fun while waiting my turn for sahha kicks because normal actions were disabled.

Amen. There is absolutely no need for poppers, small fireworks, large fireworks, blow up the enclave size fireworks, etc. One firework would be sufficient. It's the main issue with this game when it comes to inventory space. Every type of item has to come in 60 different flavors to take up as much space as possible.

I don't mind that there are different types of fireworks because each has a unique animation. My point is more along the lines that having 10 fireworks is fun because you light them off and go on about your day. Having 10 stacks of 99 fireworks is kittens. You can't enjoy them in that kind of quantity and they just become a burden.

Yeah im tired of all this junk that drops when inventory space is so badly designed.

Hecklers for example from portabello...straight to delete.

Same with anything from this event...it takes space away from valuable stuff and im not buying anymore bags or creating more alt mules.

You want us to enjoy this stuff then give us storage space for it.

Ive never played an mmo with such badly designed cosmetic and immersion setup. Im a collector on all bar NW.

Seriously you are missing a trick with building a stronger social community that spends RL cash by not having any real sensible approach here beyind throwing endless stuff at us.

I have smashed a great deal of pinatas and have concluded that this patch:

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/neverwinter/news/detail/9742053-patch-notes:-nw.55.20160106a.1

is still in effect and beholder pinatas not only do not drop "excessive" charms, they actually drop none at all.

Thanks for finding this. At this point, I think they should remove the piñatas' loot table entirely (and the cooldown) and make the piñatas do something silly when hit.
