Gear bound to Account now it is bound to Character?!

When Strongholds had released I noticed that purchasing gear such as Dragonflight or Lionsmane was bound to account. I decided to make a 2nd toon opposite spec of the same class to swap gear with. It worked for a short while then individual pieces became bound to character. My question is why? This same exact scenario happened with the elemental artifact weapons. Was using them and swapping them with no issues until the upgrade from rare to epic or transmutation... Either of them caused it but I didn't notice it in time, but I'm leaning toward transmutation. For this to be an issue makes no sense at all. It happens to be that the artifact weapon set is stuck on the toon that never completed the quest. So that means the main toon has already completed the artifact quest which is now unavailable and cannot be obtained unless purchased from the trade house or pulled from a lockbox. Just make all of the gear bound to Account as well as the Companions once equipped. And officially allow the Renegade Evoker (not Renegade Illusionist) to be acquired in Valindras Tower... clearly it is not obtainable at the moment.

Equipping and Transmuting gear will bind it to the character who equipped or transmuted it. Moving this to general as it is not a bug.

This is not true. Sorry Zeb. Bound to account items do not always bind to the character when equipped. I have a character right now that has a Bound to Account item equipped, and I can move it freely between my toons.

The only reason this issue comes up is that the game is incredibly inconsistent with this, even with the same item.

Transmuting, I'm not sure. I would think it may depend on the transmutes status, or it could just be that anything transmuted gets made BoC. You *should* get a warning when the status is changing though.

Aye it is not consistent with all items but for the most part it is indeed true. Account bound items that don't bind when equipped are generally Cosmetic Items. With transmuting, the most restrictive bind status will apply. So if you use a Character Bound item as the transmute, the transmuted item will become Character Bound. Yes, the game needs better tooltips and warnings. This still is not a bug however.

Armor that you equip a Greater (or equal) Overload enchantment in, will get BtC due to the enchant getting bound, and therefore contaminating your arms or helmet with the binding-disease...

This is besides BtC transmuting ofc...

Putting say a BtC gem into an armour piece will bind that armour piece to that character

I am neither here nor there, for I am NevrCene

    Melisandre: SW
    Brienne: GWF

Yeah I believe that there needs to be a note or warning if that is to be true. Spending way too much time, money, and effort for something as simple as a BoC causing this issue. If it is not a bug then it needs to be simply a warning or completely removed as a side effect of transmutation.

I agree as well. I have always been for either having most things like equipment be unbound or at the very least everything that is character binding should, at most, be account binding instead.
