Buying 2k Zen next week. What should I get?

fendigofendigo Member Posts: 3 Arc User
A lot of stuff looks good, but I'm not sure what would be a worthwhile investment. Any suggestions?

Yeah, I don't do PvP. I suck at it in every game ever.

Save it for Black Friday or some big sale :p

If you have to spend it, buy an epic mount, if you have an epic+ mount already, buy VIP, if you have VIP already, buy wards, or sell it and buy the companion you wanted, or bags, or whatever.

either get more bank vault slots? dont buy it straight with zens, i would get coupons first from invoking, until the ones you need. "Any item" is the one you can use for bank slots.

A runic bag, or wait for a mount sale to match that price and pick the armored bear, it's the only one with wanderer's fortune, which is now more or less the only way to loot RP.

What? Don't spend ad in inventory extention if you don't have everythin else you want, at most buy 2 more char slots and store bta/unbound stuff there.

Actually, the gilded giant spider also has wanderer's fortune. If you already have an epic (110% speed) mount or better, get the spider.

If not that, then VIP. Otherwise, i'd just sell it for AD

In my honest opinion the best option would be getting VIP. By having 2,000 zen you could get 2 months worth of VIP. Each day you will get 1 enchanted key as long you collect it. If you do get 2 months worth of VIP and login everyday that's 60 enchanted keys worth. If you bought all 60 enchanted keys from the zen store that would cost you 6,750 zen without a sale price.

If would save up and get 6 months worth of VIP. If you login everyday to collect the key after the 6 months you would have 180 enchanted keys. If you just bought all 180 enchanted keys it would cost you 20,250 zen without a sale price.

Course the downside to using enchanted keys to open boxes. Is it's gamble if you get anything good or not out of them. You could get lucky and get a mount on first try. Then again you could open ton of boxes and get nothing worth anything.

If you sell what you get, on average you'll get 30k per thing. That's not counting any ultra rare drops.

That's 1.8m AD over 60 days, or 3600 zen (at 500 ad per zen). If you can be disciplined enough to get the key every day and not use the drops you get, then it's a worthwhile investment just for the key.

If you opt for VIP, then do remember to wait until you get a 15% discount voucher from your invoking. No point in wasting 300 Zen by paying full price. 3 Months is 2700 which is 'only' 2300 with the same discount. Personally, I would probably hang on to it until Black Friday for the next 50% sale but I have plenty of patience :)

Plans have been changed and now I'm getting $50 worth of Zen (5300 because the bonus) So does that change anything? What about the Dragonborn race? Isn't it the best race?

EDIT: Add another 1000 Zen on top of that. 6300 Zen

As someone who's Rank 12 VIP and has almost every Pack in the game, I suggest that anyone first focus on getting to Rank 12 VIP before buying other stuff. Once you're comfortably staying at Rank 12 VIP, I then suggest to look into obtaining some of the Packs, like the Hero of the North Pack, Guardian of Neverwinter Pack, Knight of the Feywild Pack, and Dragonborn Legend Pack, as those have some of the best Account-Wide reclaimables the Packs have to offer. As well, the HotN pack comes with 3 character slots, then the KotF, GoN, and DL packs come with one character slot each. As well as HotN, GoN, and KotF all come with a Mount. After those, I'd look into some of the other Packs and then then perhaps expand your inventories or go for some more Mounts.

The Dragonborn Race is arguably the best race as you get to choose two stats to get +2 when in character creation. The DL Pack (and Dragonborn Race Reroll Bundle) does come with a free Race Reroll token as well, however you won't be able to change your Homeland or Deity selection.

DB ain't THAT much of a benefit. You could get it later also... Do this:-

Save it for Black Friday or some big sale :p

If you have to spend it, buy an epic mount, if you have an epic+ mount already, buy VIP, if you have VIP already, buy wards, or Dragonborn Pack.

I think no one mentioned fo far that there is a bag for EACH of your characters in the Dragonborn pack.
Depending on how many toons you have that is 30 items bagspace with the Dragon Hoard bag.

Bags ain't a priority. Maybe for extreme farmers, but not for us. Not for me atleast. There are a lot more important stuff to buy first.
