Champion's Battle Horn

mercedesmanmercedesman Member Posts: 200 Arc User
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to take a moment and highly recommend getting one of the Champion's Battle Horn items from the siege event. This thing is by far the best thing to slot in this game. I mean look at the stats, boost in HP, boost in speed and for a whole 6 seconds... and the cool down of 10 min. is just right! Having this completely negates all the bad things that may have been done to your character. Get one today and enjoy watching your cooldown tick down from 10 min. (never mind the fact that you will want to throw it away just after the 6 sec is up but have to wait for 10 min. more to do it)

To bad they won't let you equip 3 at a time... that would make it really OP... :D

another leftover from a event that was made for level 60 (hence i get downscaled to 60 and manage to nuke a whole party with a radiant strike and lowlevels stay with the finger in the mouth(not a good thing)).

All events should be reworked to be fitting to the actual game at the time they are run...

but they have a lot bigger issues at the moment not being taken care of so ...

Pure -> Transcendent Plague Fire weapon enchantment giving 80damge/20 seconds for 500k+ AD is a joke.

Jokes aside, I wonder when/if this item was "The" thing to have. I know the game progresses(changes) constantly but I am sure at some point, someone was thrilled to have this work of art. Kinda how we now look back at the lostmouth set.. lol

It's another prime example of Cryptic's in ability to understand how not to waste their time on trivial garbage when they should be spending those cycles developing content players actually want and fixing bugs that have been around for ages. Instead of spending several hours building some pathetic waste of space like this, they could have spent those hours fixing any number of the small bugs that are just stupid (like spelling and grammar errors, or basic graphic flaws, etc). I get the major defects require more time and cycles, but damn.. how hard is it really to fix inaccurate tooltips or other simple but dumb-looking flaws like that? Certainly, they could have fixed a few in the same time it took to create this Horn.

The horn is occasional stuff for GF conquerors.

GF gains temp HP, which in turn activates Wrath Warrior with extra 15% to damage. Timed with other burst abilities, GF gets more burst. Something like adrenaline injection for heavy rifle snipers hiding in bushes for hours for one perfect headshot.

Availability of item determines usefulness. The easier it is to get, the less valuable it is. As in game, so is life.

the people who create content and what not are not bug squashers for good reasons not to mention there is a tier system to how bugs are fixed if it is very simple text error they will get to it if they have a mite bit of free tie to edit otherwise it is the priority to the more game impairing bugs. back to the event i do not mind this tiny vanity item might not use it but hey its there if i want it.

IT was never good......and it's amusement factor was brief, if it actually happened at all.

I think the movement burst enjoyed a brief period of popularity in domination PvP for reaching the far node quickly.

It's not particularly useful, and even the novelty value of it is in the potty since it was made a very common drop from Simril gifts.

So... what you're saying is that its understandable (which means you're giving tactic approval) that, instead of ensuring they're resources are allocated to doing things useful and important, based on customer requirements and feedback (among other things), they should instead continue allocating their resources to employ staff to generate more trash items no one particularly wants?

I get that there's a separation of responsibilities. I'm talking about resources and time cycles, not individuals. My point is that Cryptic is burning it's valuable resources and time making junk items when important aspects of the game are left unaddressed for weeks, months or years. Foundry anyone??? A person can be trained and coached to be more useful, or they can be laid off so new positions can be created that meet the companies needs. Harsh? Yeah, maybe.. but Cryptic has a business to run (even if they don't seem to realize that).

Actually, I have used it to save my rear in epic dungeons before when I have taken a hit that would have knocked me down but didn't after using the horn. It is not as good as it should be but it can work. The six second cool down needs to change to 20 seconds and you should get more healing and protection with a cooldown of the 2 min standard.

I am sorry if you were hurt by the fix of a bug(lms), but this means you exploited it un/willingly.
Now it does what it should do and if it was the only thing making your character usefull there may be a design issue with the character.

    But

Bugs that can be detected with 5 minutes of playing should not exist in the game or if one somehow slips it should be squashed asap.

And here is where i agree on 100% with kvet,
We are whining couse of constant broken stuff and the introduction of more and more of it with each new thing (with the last patch it was a broken quest and a quest with a wrong description and a broken mount animation and not scaled content making 4/4 things broken on arrival).

Yes i will whine on the forums on every major bug and each time new content arrives bugged with things that any QA could detect in 10min and are known from the bug forums to be buged and not get fixed in months till i still care about the game, after that i will simply uninstall it.

What i hope from the whining - maybe some day someone will decide to put schedule time to bug and content testing

or if such time is actually planed

fire the guy that said that the current content is working fine (seriously the stronghold quest to talk to the guards if anyone signed that he tested it - fire him and get someone who cares)

The levels on which stuff arives broken are below the quality of a fan-made game on valve greenlight and the said fanmade game would atleast try fixing them in the next version...

And we are talking here about a game studio with hasbro license to make dungeons and dragons not a hobby developer...

    http://kotaku.com/what-a-fan-learned-about-game-development-by-making-his-1772325300

i wish i would see such attitude from cryptic but till yet i get none.

    example:

current beta build: bondings are not going on cooldown and no one from the firm has bothered to say if intended or not(breaking info for any character using them)

or i think it were the graycloaks a fairly big guild - they had to find people and get the content tested (afaik problems creating aliance) if the developer cared they would have a guy on the issue from the second it was reported actively using all the tools he has as a developer to squish the issue that shouldnt even exist (noone developer side tested if old guild can form aliances on a patch that is all about alliances) as his main priority for the work day/s so it is not an issue to others in the future.

I had this exactly happen to me last night when my party left me (died) to solo Lostmouth. I only had it slotted because of the amusing noise it makes (HAMSTER jokes don't get old, even when you do), but I'll keep it there for now because of this

Never mind. In the next event, with enough hard work, you can also get yourself a peg leg. Then all the deserved sympathy will be more genuine.
