@wdj40 Talking about most stupid posts: 1) I already provided an argument in the post before but maybe I have to explain it again. 2) you don't have to call me out anymore because I already did? Yea, I was referring to the op but whatever.
And now I'll give my argument again. While you guys hoard salvages over weeks or even months you won't reach your daylie AD cap on your characters, I do. Then, when the double AD event finally arrives. BAM! You salvage stuff for several millions of AD that you cannot spend because there is a refinement cap limit. While you guys hoarded Weeks or even months for this event, you won't get the caps inbetween. I have 2 characters and I get them capped every day. If I would not cap them every day and hoard every piece of item for double AD I would lose on all those AD. Also, because I reach my cap every day there is no point in having millions of rough Ad. Seriously, I would be more careful using such words as "stupid". Just because hoarding works for double refinement event, it does not work the same way for double AD.
Over a two week period with two characters I make 72K AD per day multiplied with 14 = 1,008,000AD If you hoard stuff up you miss on all those AD, sure you get some AD from dungeon and skirmishes itself but it's definitely not enough to reach your cap. Of cause you will get the double amount of rough AD if you hoard stuff up but what's the point? You cannot spend those due to the cap and while you guys waited for two weeks just for this event in order to make money, I already made over 1 million AD that I am able to spend! So you obviously lost those.
Edit: oh and I advise you not to tell people to ignore other people posts just because you don't seem to understand them, such a move indeed seems stupid. Should I tell people to ignore your posts because they seem worthless to me? From a member of Asylum I had expected a more adequate behavior.
lol, you do not and never do "lose" out on any AD what-so-ever. It all gets Refined in the end whether it is today or 2 months from now.
Saving for double AD gets you the most amount of AD you could possibly get out of salvaging... Hence the name of the event.
Just because I did not hit a refinement cap today or tomorrow does not mean I will not hit the cap in the future day after day. By salvaging when not on a double AD event you are not getting the most AD you can get out of the items, its as simple as that.
You need to think long term and not short term in this game.
Tell people to ignore my posts if you think you must, I don't think I have ever given out bad advice, maybe I have got a think wrong or 2 but I have always admitted after. I don't think I am wrong here though.

Im thinking in long terms. I am aware that millions of rough ad are pointless. And you do indeed lose out on AD if you do not hit the cap every day. As simple as that. I hit the cap every day, no matter if a double event is going on or not, so I do not lose out on any AD. FYI, in fact it is not a double AD but a double RAD event.
I think I see where the people arguing for refining $36k every day are coming from. The big assumption here is they reach the $36k refining limit each day on all their characters. They essentially have an infinite supply of $36k per day, and holding some for double AD would give them additional RAD, but they would never see it because it gets "added on" to the end of their infinite days ...
Many, if not most, people, do not reach the refining limit every day - and generally not with all of their Alts. Most of us are going to have at least a few days where we miss the refining limit - thus allowing us to reap the benefit of double AD - especially if we have created Alts for storage and refining.
Conversely, some folks might go over the RAD refining limit in a day, and would benefit from having additional characters and, I would suggest, waiting until double AD to salvage their goods. I save all salvage for double AD, using multiple Alts for both storage and refining. It's worked well for me.
you can get out of the items, its as simple as that.
You need to think long term and not short term in this game.
In the long term, he will have more AD if he refines at the maximum limit every day IF and only if you both refining at the same time.
Everyday he will get 36k and by the time 2x AD come around for you, he will have more than you no matter what.
The only way salvaging at double AD would be useful is if you have many characters and you don't have time to play on them all, which I assume most casual players don't.
lol everyone is just assuming here. I have 8 characters so I will never have time to hit the daily cap of 36k per day... my main on the other hand pretty much hits the 36k each day, maybe just a little under.
Now hoarding everything I can end up with Millions of RAD spread out over 8 characters. I can then send 36k a day per character to my main for as long as the RAD lasts.
In the long run I am going to have more RAD to refine as all my items were worth double whereas if you do not wait for a double AD the player will have earned less RAD than me. I specifically got 8 characters as that is 1 of each class and they all are used for Storage, Professions, Invocating and RAD/AD. I don't even have to play the characters.
In fact I have even had RAD last from 1 double AD event to the next in the past so imagine how many days of 8 x 36k AD given to my main that is.
Honestly anyone arguing that not waiting for a double AD event is somehow better is beyond me.
Also people are just assuming they will be playing Neverwinter every single day for as long as is needed to hit that 36k... It is not a short process it is in fact a bit time consuming. Then if you are concentrating on hitting that 36k a day you do not really have a great deal of time to do everything else or what you actually want.
I actually have a lot of free time as I earned so much AD during double AD events I no longer have anything to actually buy in game. I don't even need to hoard and salvage any more but I still do just to top up what I have.
But hey you guys just salvage now and do what you want, just don't say it is better or you lose AD because that is just pure rubbish.
Hey here is $5/£5 but if you wait a week it will be worth $10/£10.... Nah it is better to have £5/$5 as somehow you lose money if you just wait a week.

Alright, let's clear this up because it seems there are 2 sides to this, when there should only be 1. Why? Because one way gives you ad, the other way gives you even more ad, but this seems to go over some of your heads.
First, Double AD is amazing for saving salvage for. There is no argument against this except for maybe inventory issues. What some of you don't realize, is that in order to get that much salvage, they have to actually run the dungeons/skirmishes which provides them with most of that 36k AD a day, completely invalidating the whole 'oh, you get less ad from saving and waiting'. Let's say you come up short from 36k ad in that day and REALLY want to finish the off. Salvage like 2 or 3 pieces, which is basically 1 run. Both sides of this conversation are now sitting on the same 36k ad a day.
Second, the people who save their salvage for double AD have multiple character slots (I myself have 13). If you want to, I guess you can get all of those characters to 36k ad a day, every day. By all means, go for it. That's going to be a lot of time and effort and most people can't do beyond 2 characters a day, let's be real. So going off of not waiting and only doing 2 characters a day, you'll be a 72k ad a day, right? Not bad, I guess. But the people saving salvage already do that, except they have the salvage left over, which means they are also getting 72k ad a day. But once Double AD comes along and they spread their salvage across all their alts, they are going to be getting 36k ad a day per character (468,000 using my 13 toons as a basis). Not only does this allow for people to keep making ad on days they don't want to play, but even if they play, their 'income' will be much higher than those who don't save salvage.
I'm not going to bother with those who want to try to disagree with sound logic, so if you want to ignore this information, feel free to continue being oblivious. You can have your amount of ad, and we'll have ours. ^_^
Ya, I think salvage should be bound to character and the Zax fixed to not allow that. In the end, you will lose 2x AD or even much worse.
Why though? What kind of logic would make you think like that? How does having the ability to do this hurt anyone? If anything, people always complain about not being able to get ad, even though they're blatantly being told how to do so. Yet, you want there to be even less ways to get ad? Great idea!....
No, I have watched the PC economy crumble due to this behavior. We do not even get 2x AD on PC. Do as you will, but when you lose 2x AD and have a Zen backlog you will be back here raging. 2xAD at the cost of 2x the Zax rate is not 2x AD at all.
No, I won't and you're terribly wrong to assume such a thing. Most, if not all, changes for us are done based off of what happens on pc. Let alone, people have been doing this since the game was released for xbox.
I don't get how you're correlating transferring ad between characters with doubling the zen exchange, but sure, we'll go with that. >.>
Lol 4 mill won't even get you a transcended vorpal or negation. It might get you one or two rank 12s. I say fail. Also unless you spent zen in bags I can promise you that 4 toons do not hold 4 mill salvageable ad
Again using our brains in the past we bought many character slots when they were 90% off. I had multiple toons take advantage of sales for bank slots, shared bank slots etc etc.
All but 3 of my characters have maxed their bank slots as well as 5 bags each etc.
As I have said over and over thinking long term and taking advantage of sales, double events and hoarding items you can easily save millions worth of salvage for events.

Your example is s more like: You can Deposit 10$ everyday, but if you wait one year you can deposit 10$ a day.
See how how that makes no sense?
You refine 36k a day. You will have time to refine 36k everyday.
Why wait a month to refine 36k a day during double XP when you know you will always refine 36k? If that is beyond you, then I just put it in front of you.
I gave up trying to explain the logic to such ignorant people, you can't even have a proper conversation with most of them, all you get is a "roflmao, you have no idea how wrong you are lol" or something like "your statement is simply stupid/ pure rubbish". I refuse to talk to such people, they expect to have right and everyone share their opinion.
Still one last thing though, your argument that you are saving time with hoarding salvages and still hit the 36k cap is invalid. Salvaging pre- twice RAD events shorts up the time you need to reach that cap. In fact you most likely only need 1 dungeon and 1 skirmish run + the salvages to hit the cap. You are right that you save a lot of time after the double RAD event ended because you only have to hit the refinement button instead of being forced to farm. Though, you spent a lot of time farming salvages pre double RAD. Most likely much more than is needed for 1 dungeon and 1 skirmish run. Also you guys seem to forget that we also make use of the double RAD event, even without preparing for it we benefit from it as well.
You are missing the point. I'm still refining rough AD back on 19 chars, thats 684k per day. Meanwhile instead of burning any additional salvage i am earning now, i save it for the next 2x AD event to get twice the value out of it. The goal is to always have rough AD on all your chars for the entire time from 2x AD to the next 2x AD. And in doing so i use half the salvage you use, or i make twice the AD. Depending on how you want to look at it.

pot calling kettle and all that. something to keep in mind.
to keep on track another very important thign is to do the daily prayers and cash in those prayer packs. I got two coal wards last night bundling up five of them over my 9 toons. you pretty much need to collect the coal wards to save up to make your enchants. you definitely can get your artis to mythic with out spending ten mil each. it just requires a lot of farming. well of dragons dragons runs and iwd heroics and the daily lair in Get VIP and do your daily key. hoard the rank 7 companion runes and haunt the ah for bargains in them. farm ELOL and Kessels and shores for artifacts. Other than time I never spent a dime getting my four arti to mythic. Just a lot of farming

^ this seriously.. save it all for double refinement. once upon a time I didn't and I was poor.. then I started saving absolutely everything making all the alts I have available outfitted with bags (I got the dragon pack) now I'm always a millionaire. you split up the extra among your alts and then refine it on all the alts in the days ahead. do all your invoking on all your toons and then save up your prayer packs and open them 5 or 10 at a time for the chance at coal wards. use those coal wards to refine your weapon and armor enchants. level up leadership for your refining stones for your weapons and artifact sets and use fey or dragon enchants for gems and enchants.. and bobs your uncle. on your way to bis. maybe slowly but on your way to bis with dedication and effort. also it's good to watch the ah and find things that are undervalued and sell them on later. event stuff always increases in price a few weeks out.

If you have only 2 character slots and never intend to get more then fine, there's no point in saving. It does however limit you to 72k per day. It's a reasonable amount I guess.
I have 6 characters and for last 2 x AD I saved salvageables for about 4 weeks. At the same time I was running 2 dungeons and 2 skirmishes per character so roughly 20k ea x 5 (other character was new & not running these). I was refining 100k per day and saving salvage - over 4 weeks I saved (at double rate) 800k, plus extra farming during the event, I had 2 mil rough by the end.
This took me about 3 weeks to refine - I was refining 216k per day as I was still earning my 20k per character - meaning that over 3 weeks I've made around 4 million AD.
Of course I'm still gearing up more than 1 character because I'm an idiot when it comes to spending so I've already spent most of it - lol.
But the point is that if you don't mind spreading your time across multiple characters the earning potential is higher because you only get 2 x AD tasks of each type - just run 2 per character & it's all bonus AD.
Ofc some people are very tied to their characters and only play 1 or 2 - fair enough, but the point made by Fireside that higher earnings are made by running multiple alts is very valid as illustrated above.

Wow 13 characters, 19 characters... no wonder you guys have no trouble with ADs... lol
Honestly i have 2 real char, and one baby char that can salvage but have limited bag/bank space. And last double AD i finally filled my bags like 1 week before it hit. And i had a feeling i farmed like crazy... So more than 5 char would be totally useless for me... But lets say that yes ok.. i am motivated enough to make 2 other char, run the intro and such and use them as containers. Still having to play 10 hours or so on them (to get the bags in campaign) and such to be allow to do professions and prayers etc. Most likely double xp help for that, i know... But still timing have to be right etc.
But ok, lets say i could do that, then sure you said you purchased character slots at 90% off... Good for you. When did that happened? I most likely was not playing the game yet and/or still was struggling with my ADs. It took me a while to be able to make lots of ADs. Most likely the multiple shores farms. Everytime i bough bank space tough for exemple, i was like "ouch thats diamond i wish i could had put on my char" but now with the current exchange i don't want to convert to zen, too expensive... even if 16 slots more would surely help and in the long run end up profitable, man its again diamonds going out for now. I think overall its the biggest problems between you guys and some of us. You guys are "hardcore try hards" and i don't mean it as an insult, but just a fact. You play this game all day long, you play most likely ONLY this game, everything you do is intended to be "maximizing profit" and you threat this game as work... Simple as that. While us the "casuals" or hey, i wouldn't even consider me a casual consiering how much time i still play this game, but still not as hardcore as you, anyway we don't play as much as you, we don't play for as long as you(in some cases), we don't play this like its work, and finally we do play other video games as well.
I don't live for Neverwinter. I just started to play it cause it was free and i enjoyed it. I had no idea it would be a life consuming game. It make Skyrim look like a short game... lol, and that is actually a pretty long game that you do feel acomplished upon finishing up. But hey some of you may have been PC players, you know those kind of games, we are consol gamers, we don't play for the PC master race, we don't expect one video game to become a life grind. :P
Before playing NW i tough Mortal Kombat (2011) My Kung Fu is Stronger achievement, and GOW3 Seriously 3.0 where the biggest grinds there was. Then i played NW, and as much as the achievements themselves are not thecnically time consuming (exept 1000 dragons) , its the rest, upping your character to be suitable to do said new achievements they add. No matter on what angle i look at it, ill still have to be 3000 IS for castle never. And i bet you there will be an achievement for it. lol.
And even if achievements ain't your thing or pleasure in video games, just look as it as "completing the game". I completed several xbox games, i maxed out GOW2 at lev 100(before the x32 xp lol) i became prestige master in COD BO2, i am on the verge of being max re-up in GOW UE. I finished skyrim at maybe 96% with only a few quest i didn't wanted to do left, and so on and on. Yet NW, even tough i did do all the content, its not because of me, but my friends...
I have no idea how some people run 8-10 characters and make them all competitive... unless they only play NW and play it 8-10 hours a day and/or help themselves by buying zen with real money... I can't afford any of those. I play other games, i do not have tons of money to put in one game, and that it.
Seriously deluded my friend, also stop saying we we we we us us us... you do not speak on behalf of us Console Gamers and you certainly don't know what "we" want out of a video game.
I play this game SPECIFICALLY because of the grind, no grind = bored = playing something else.

So when we play the game because we want to get something done, that has to be considered work? I enjoy earning what I get which would constitute it as fun. However, I also multi-task when I'm doing the more 'mindless' grinding that occurs. I've been actually watching House of Cards as of late while farming rp for my own means.
Spending time is all relevant. Some people think you have to play a LOT to get anywhere. Not true. Sometimes smarter choices in smaller time periods lead to much more value. Being patient and not rushing things is huge.
As for not playing other games, http://www.trueachievements.com/ZelinkTheOne.htm . Been playing Rocket League/Black Ops 3/Smite/etc. I'll be playing Dark Souls 3 today as well as I consider that a really good series and have 100%'d 1 & 2.
Now I know what you're saying doesn't apply to everyone, but I am the exact anti-body for your reasoning. F2P, plays other games, does other things, and still get stuff done on NW.
What is your IS and all, since when do you play, how much characters you have? Just curious. But my post was mostly targeted at peoples like Indy and the other guys mentioning having over 10 char.
What is your IS and all, since when do you play, how much characters you have? Just curious. But my post was mostly targeted at peoples like Indy and the other guys mentioning having over 10 char.
I've broken 4k, but under currently due to selling items I wanted to change.
I have played since the game was released on Xbox, however, outside of getting the 100% for achievements, I didn't start caring for this game until 3-4 months after its xbox release, in which I played solo for the most part. I knew people, but still did my own thing. This was back when boot and looting was a huge issue, and as someone who ran solo, I missed out on a lot of loot drops because of this (GWF in that mod was treated poorly btw). I then proceeded to go out of my way to make a guild and have my small group(s) to play with. It was originally me, Vexcide, and Thing. I ended up adding Health, Viral, Jealous, Kyle, and a few others to the guild, but these names I mentioned were people I played with the most (This is before Strongholds btw). When strongholds started to peak it's head out, I merged with LGPG and became a leader of the guild with Indy at the time bringing over Viral & Health, as everyone else had quit by then. And the rest is history. I went from nothing, knowing nothing (never played a mmorpg before except for WoW which I never even fully leveled a character in), not having a constant group to run with, etc. to where I am today in the game. I could go more in depth, but I already said enough to convey what I've done.
Having 13 characters and being in LGPG diqualify you as a "casual" lol
Like you i started playing almost at release(i think a week or 2 later) but i only played once a week or so, my character upping from 1 to 60 was very slow, in fact i got 60 only 2 weeks before mod 6, so i never could enjoy epic dungeon and stuff like that during mod5. Then it was back at leveling up. When i was in relax its just a game, i did a couple dungeons with them here and there but can't say i ran much. I was obviously under geared, and had only my GF back then, so had to be carry a lot. I will admit i was spec pretty badly as i had no idea how to play a tank, having never played this type of game. So once i respec and was a bit more able to tank, we did a bit more dungeons. When i joined Dread Legion i then ran much more. Those people where already very geared and they often posted in chat and this is when i started making lots of AD trough shores/lostmauth farms etc. But it was not until december last year. I think this maybe part of the problem and why i am not geared as much as some.
Having only get into an active guild and enjoy the fun of dungeons in december (even tough since august i was playing everyday and tried my best) and it took up until i think january or febuary that my GWF wich i had in Dragonsbane back then, leveling him up from time to time, finally became my main and i realize "man everything is x6 speeded up with this character compared to the gf". Eventually dragonsbane decided to not allow multi guilding so i had to leave (but in very good term and remain friend with them).
I think it may be part of the reason why im a bit burned at the game. Doing dailies and such with the GF was so time consuming and so tedious. With the GWF its much more barable but at that point im just to a point im tired of running them....
Maybe i lost that much time on the GF and its why im not as geared as i should be now, so yes maybe the fault is on me partially, having took a longer path... i dunno.
I just have a feeling that for the time i played this game yet (over 50 days of play time) i should be stronger... I should be more than just a low DPS in dungeons.
But well im going all in on the DRP, its pass or brake for me there. If my character does not drastically improve, i think ill call it quit.. I have LOTS of refinements so... But then again maybe i underestimate the game lol, maybe my tons of refinement won't make that much of a difference when my artifact goes to orange etc... Oh i just hope lol.

Also, because I reach my cap every day there is no point in having millions of rough Ad.
Seriously, I would be more careful using such words as "stupid".
Just because hoarding works for double refinement event, it does not work the same way for double AD.
Over a two week period with two characters I make 72K AD per day multiplied with 14 = 1,008,000AD
If you hoard stuff up you miss on all those AD, sure you get some AD from dungeon and skirmishes itself but it's definitely not enough to reach your cap. Of cause you will get the double amount of rough AD if you hoard stuff up but what's the point? You cannot spend those due to the cap and while you guys waited for two weeks just for this event in order to make money, I already made over 1 million AD that I am able to spend!

FYI, in fact it is not a double AD but a double RAD event.

This is because I have used my brain and doubled everything I earned, basically work hard for a month or maybe 2 then the rest of the year is free.

I don't get how you're correlating transferring ad between characters with doubling the zen exchange, but sure, we'll go with that. >.>
All but 3 of my characters have maxed their bank slots as well as 5 bags each etc.
As I have said over and over thinking long term and taking advantage of sales, double events and hoarding items you can easily save millions worth of salvage for events.

PC fail is because of bots. we don't have them.

I play this game SPECIFICALLY because of the grind, no grind = bored = playing something else.

@zelinktheone3
What is your IS and all, since when do you play, how much characters you have? Just curious. But my post was mostly targeted at peoples like Indy and the other guys mentioning having over 10 char.
I have 13 characters currently.
