Try anything that do DOTs and make sure you don't crit and get maximum buff power. Paladins can do that very well if they slot the two aura from class feat, (i think courage and radiant).

Use an howlbear companion, don't go stealth, raise your power with whirlwind of blade and DC ap featurebug, smoke and path of blades, enjoy.

    Fixed.

Oppressive Darkness/Infiltrator Action complements my lowlife TR setup. Stealth is good to activate Path Of Blades/Whirlwind of Blades. It is all what trash needs to eat.

Please don't use smoke bomb. It lags.

    :squinty eyes:

Real ninjas don't need smoke bombs.

:waits through the usual replies to "lag":

Don't underestimate Life Steal for a TR. Terror is a good enchantment. You can double/triple it up with boons.

TR is a fairly good balance of both solo class AND teamwork class. That's all I am adding here after having played a rogue for... decades over many games. Just for years here. TR has always been my main.

TRs are totally viable. I play an executioner and I love making bosses melt! I just started a blog on my build. Check it out, if you like: www.nwohackandslash.wordpress.com

To answer the original question - most DPS classes excel at either single-target DPS or AoE DPS. Only GWF destroyer currently excels at both, hence why it tends to be top DPS on paingiver charts.

TRs often don't top DPS charts because they're built for single-target DPS over AoE, and dungeons are generally filled with trash mobs where AoE classes excel.

Throw in the fact that GWF can also stand in red and continue to DPS, and deal their damage instantly and not over time via DoTs, and it's no surprise they rank 1st on the charts.

Tr can do massoive AOE...when your running PVE you use 3 aoe encounters for me the best is Dazing strike while stealthed does tons as first strike is the class feature to go with it and then drop smoke then path of the blade then continue with at wills and whilwind of blades when ready ..repeat repeat repeat,,:) Lashing blade for me is mainly a PVE encounter and doesnt make much sense to use doing anything else.(single shot) no good for pve.

I have a 4.1K GWF, 3.1K Warlock, 3.2K GWF for PVP and I enjoy my lvl64 Trickster (MI, scoundrel) with a trans lightning the most.. whether it is PVE or PVP...

Yeah, similar for me. I have both a geared HR and TR, and while my HR's survivability, crowd control, and AoE is superior (and arguably his single-target too, in large scale battles with Careful Attack), my TR is somehow more fun. It's definitely more challenging, that's for sure. In order to get comparable dps with other classes, you need to know all of the synergies of the class, and use them to their fullest. But that's what makes it fun.
