I think it should be the players choice as to what the game content consists of. Settings for things like language and gore are fairly common, so what about having content that's more revealing? Even nudity?

The addition of gore would definitely be a huge plus.

The discussion doesn't have to be proprietary to nudity. Bringing up the taboo has a tendency of deeper revelation.

Why? this game isn't about getting your rocks off.

I have nothing against nudity but I don't think introducing 'fantasy sex' into NW is a good idea. This is Dungeons & Dragons not some form of cosplay. People can get their phones/laptops out if they need a 'quick fix'...

^^ That's right. It's a game, not a pornographic movie. We women are exploited enough... too many outfits are too revealing as is... I'm with fireside cat! If you want naked women, look it up on the net like every other teen boy. D&D is far classier than a cheep thrills peep show. Nudity and perversion can stay out of neverwinter.

Besides... when you run a dungeon, your hands need to be on the controller, not your personal joystick!

censorship is not the case here when it was never part of the game and doesn't have a reason to be in the game. D and D was never about sex and gore. Neverwinter has an esrb of teen. it is NOT a mature title. if you need a fix of all that go play GTA

Forget the mature content, I want more mature players.

Whether it's gore, nudity or language, the decision should be that of the individual. Believe it or not, Im not really interested in seeing naked female characters. I'm more interested in richer content and more diverse choices.

...as it seems to have eluded some, I never said its something that should be forced on everyone. I said the choice should be that of the individual. An user selectable ESRB rating as it were.

The choice of ESRB rating is not a player decision. It it is a choice of the developers/publishers. They design a game to meet a rating goal and often make changes if the actual rating comes higher than they want.

The player's choice is to accept that decision or play something else. Things like variable gore/language/nudity can only exist in games where the ESRB rating covers the upper limit. It is also very unlikely that Wizards of the Coast and/or Hasbro would give permission.

Logistically, I do not even know if it could work in an MMO. Where there is a persistent world, it should be the same experience for every player. So, variable settings that change gameplay or visuals would be difficult or possibly impossible to implement. Allowing things to be processed locally rather than on the game server is can lead to big exploits.

A rating of E is not the rating that allows everything.....an E rating includes children that play Kung Fu Panda. If they wanted a rating that allows everything you are suggesting it would be rated M, or UR, or maybe NC-17. But again, its a game that the devs made this way, and so they cant put "sliders" for you to change the rating lol. You cant just change the rating of a movie/TV Show whilst you are watching it, why would you be able to do it in game. smh

Closing this up as there is no respectable discussion to be found here and with the last line of the original post being troll bait and baited responses to any opposing posts... Yeah, closed. Please do refrain from such, thanks.
