How common is it that an item bought in the AH doesn't get mailed to you?

First time it has happened to me in 2000+ hours...
I bought an Azure R10 (or R9 don't remember) , and the AD was taken, but I didn't get any mail after.

Thought it was weird so i took a screenshot of the log that shows AD being removed, just to be on the safe side.

Since I was in Dread Ring where there's always horrible lag, I thouht it would pop up later, but nope...

And no, mailbox wasn't full, and I didn't get overbid... (at least I didn't get any mail about it or returned AD)

Still waiting on the support-ticket, and got kinda curious if this happens regularly?

I'm not so sure they'll even give you the time of day seeing that you don't know if it was a 200k 9 or a 400k 10...

I would expect them to have a record of the bid from that character, that's not entirely unreasonable is it?

Since the economy crashed with the Axebeak frenzy, I've bought and sold a ridiculous amount of items, so it's not so easy to remember what it was, the only thing I'm certain of is that it was an Azure since I bought it on my GWF...

Support is a joke, you need to be very very very specific to get any kind of action.

What did you buy (not a or b.. ) how much you paid, what time it was, ... They will then say you deleted the mail, you never purchased it, or you didn't have enough funds to purchase it in the first place.

When you follow up correcting their assumptions in the above, and again provide very specific details (Politely) you may get a useful response. They pretty much all but ignore anything you said in the first mail. The screen shot will help if they look, though they may simply say we can't accept screen shots because they can be edited (same with videos.)

    Good Luck!

I kinda figured/hoped they'd just check the characters transactions, and just see what went wrong?

But it sounds like I might be overly optimistic, guess I'll see how this turns out and see what fate has in store for me this time...

Anyways, still curious if anyone else had items go missing like this?
  • Buying an item straight out (winning an auction by means of buyout) but not recieving the item? No, I'm afraid that's never happened to me and I would assume it's extremely rare if even possible at all.

Of course you'd know if you're 200k aD short and did not recieve what you spent that aD on, but to answer the question I'd say that's a rarity at best.

Well, it was an auction without buyout, but I never got any mail that I got overbid either...

I just figured with the ridiculous lag in Dread Ring, that it just took a little longer, but when nothing happened I took a screenshot of the AD removal with the Xbox app just to be safe.

At this point it starts to sound as if the auction may still be ongoing, so your money maybe sitting on that auction as a bid, while the bid list UI maybe heavily lagging and not showing anything, so until they mitigate the DDOS you may need to wait for a minute to see if it shows up there.

Soooo, got an update from support a couple of days ago, "sorry to see you're having problems with your AD" and "as a one-time courtesy" they have restored the AD...

As I've read from so many others, it seems that they don't even read the ticket properly, as everything AD-related worked as intended (as far as I can see) just that the item never got sent to me...

Since it was only 50k, I would really like to get the enchantment instead of my AD back :(

It has never happened to me, and I am a bit surprised/not so surprised that they did a one time restore. They are flooded with support tickets and I could see this getting out of hand/abused.
Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand this was a gift too.
