What sort of stat spread is suggested for leveling a DC?

What sort of stat spread is suggested for leveling a DC?

Don't worry about stat spread while leveling, leveling happens to fast with constant upgrades in equipment to worry about balancing. That's just the nature of Neverwinter

I understand. Just wasn't sure if I could focus too much on one particular stat or no.
  • putzboy78putzboy78 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 1,950 Arc User
not really, if your righteous its all mostly armor pen and power unless you got a vorpal then stack more crit chance. People will disagree but I haven't found a lot of value in recovery for righteous build since I rely on divine encounters. To each there own. I'd really say experiment on your way up to get a feel for what you enjoy. Experimenting is a lot cheaper while leveling than it is at end game. Given the costs of high end enchants and artifacts.

    The meta has changed.
It doesn't really matter what stats you stack from 1-60, although crit can certainly help you kill mobs faster, but from 61-70 you'll want ArP and Lifesteal.

Zero ArP means your DC is doing at least 20% less damage in 60+ content, which means you are progressing at least 20% slower. You should be fine at 20-30% RI unless you like doing HEs.
Lifesteal is more of a convenience stat for healer DCs pre-70, but for everyone else it helps A LOT. Because it's so easy to stack LS on blue level 61-70 gear it basically translates to passive healing that scales with your DPS.
You there. New to the game? Feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you think getting to end-game is impossible for a casual player like yourself, or maybe you just need to be around a community that helps each other stay sane and competitive with the latest news, current trends, random chitchat and most of all LEGIT (that is, we try to keep things fair) gameplay. If you don't mind being around quirky people and the rare occasional drama (one of our prominent TR members is apparently a mafia godfather) join nw_legit_community at http://www.nwlegitcommunity.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2330542.

You can, simply because of blue AH gear. All my alts run with 15% or so LS from 61-70 before they switch to T1/T2 gear. The drop in survivability is VERY noticeable, but luckily that's what the DC/OP party spot is for.
Sometimes I keep my LS gear for solo.

LS scales with your DPS. Your HP doesn't matter because you get enough from the new blue gear and you likely won't be doing level 70 content with this gear.
Why "perhaps"? As I've already said, getting to 15% or so LS is easy using AH blues. A cursory check of AH 61-70 blues and the prices of rank 5+ dark enchants should make this obvious. Simply testing out an LS setup gear (they're only worth around several hundred AD) should confirm my point.

Sacrificing DPS makes sense because the issues you will encounter while leveling from 61-70 have little to do with how tough mobs are. I've personally leveled non-Righteous DCs (with tier 1-2 Righteous feats and ArP) past new content. Killing speed was never a problem, especially when between your heals/LS you could simply aggro more mobs to make up for the difference.

LS is just a replacement for pots in solo play (i.e. less than 70). If it's impacting your survive-ability you need to look at your offensive stats cause nothing should be living that long (life steal on top of divine glow?). Less than 70 it just doesn't matter really, play with the gear you find, there's no reason to bother upgrading your gear through the AH unless your looking to pvp.

    Offense:
    ArP > Crit > Power > Recovery

    Defense:
    AC > HP > LS > Defense > Deflect

LS does not replace pots, 8k-10k HP every 18 seconds is ridiculously low compared to how much HP you'll be getting with 10-15% LS . LS adds an entirely different dimension to leveling.

Divine Glow's mitigation bonus actually increases the value of LS.
I see no reason why Righteous shouldn't invest in LS gear while leveling. 61-70 blues are only several hundred AD apiece. Even if you swap MH/4 piece set twice (63-64, 67-68) you'll only spend around 5k AD. Last time I did it I spent around 3k AD total (cheaper without x2 XP). I didn't bother swapping out accessories, 50 extra stat points wasn't worth it.

I suppose it's only when your survivability is higher thanks to LS that you realize that you could be moving through EE zones faster and with lot less hassle. At the very least, LS allows you to handle more mob groups at a time.
Unless you have the resources to splurge on Mulhorand/Ardent Coin weapons and weapon enchants, being able to tackle content easier for such a small investment in AD is worth it.

In solo play lifesteal replaces pots. The ICD on pots is not an issue because nothing should be standing in time to use a second pot. If your using pots while fighting a mob then your HP is to low. Solo play is not like a 10 minute fight with Traven Blackdagger. I leveled to 70 in high prophet, didn't even take the new WoD blue gear or any gear changes along the way. If your righteous and not clearing trash mobs in one rotation... look at your offense not your defense.

Also leveling is not about fighting mobs. It's about clearing quests. You should be avoiding mobs wherever possible because the XP is low. Leverage the skills you learn from being a healer dc and maneuver around as much encounters as possible and finish the quests. That's one of the reasons trs are probably the easiest class to lvl. They stealth by everything and skip fighting trash vs tanks that pull everything around them.

If you enjoy lifesteal, that's great but it does not have more value than AC or HP. And 5k AD may not sound like much but I'd be saving my AD for 70 because now your in an arms race to meet minimum ilvls for dungeons and idealy attracting strong teams for dungeons.

What's a good weapon enchant for leveling? I have an ensorcelled MH.
  • putzboy78putzboy78 Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 1,950 Arc User
everyone favors different weapon enchants. Vorpal is always popular because it increases damage without and ICD and increases heals

frost can be useful as additional control

terror/plague are popular as debuffs (terror also has control but when rank 11 or 12)

Go for plaguefire, cheapest enchant 550k-750k AD on AH only, but its usefulness surpass all the others unless you have rank 11 and 12 ones.

Can you explain more on the best way to utilize your rotation and timing to maximize the buffs etc? Especially on bosses. I'd like to be part of melting Lostmauth in under a minute like in some of the videos I've seen.
    My Toons

    SoonerGM - HR Trapper
    Haven - Righteous Cleric
    Ethereal Justice - OP Paladin

i will typically try to do a BotS, LF, LF, PoD, DG, 3xdivine DG, HG, BtS.

However it all depends on if people get to position at the right time, how much divinity/AP i have saved up, and of course since it lostmauth if i get stuck dodgin rocks, fireballs, fire breath, lava, etc

    1 - Use DG
    2 - Build 3 divinity pipe
3 - Spend 3 divinity pipe (DG + DL, Chains, or BtS)
    4 - Use BtS
    5 - Use your 3rd Encounter
    6 - Go to 1

BtS damage buff is stronger than the Divine Glow one. I usually use the latter just for multiple mobs.

Not sure what your saying, i use empowered BtS per the note above

    Under HG: DG,3xD.DG,Bts,Chains

For PVE always a tank. The party always need those threat generators, the more tanks in the party the easier the run will be.
Lol the gfs and ops in my guild would not agree with you. They do not like competing for agro

    Personally I run with:
Legendary Shadow Demon summoned (and depending on your gear/mount will make you elgible for the Underdark Mount & Companion Affinity
    Epic Cambion Magus
    Epic Dancing Blade
    Epic Erinyes of Belial
    Epic Galeb Duhr

Galeb Duhr is the one that i debate on replacing but I'm still kind of partial to upping my damage when I'm close to kissing dirt, but the blood thirsty bonus from young yeti is intriguing. Lightfoot Thief is also intriguing but I HATE sca

Unless a GF is in party I do not find myself in position for combat advantage much so I don't use the companions with that bonus

Here are some interesting options for PVP
Cockatrice is good for PVP giving you a little extra control ability
Ioun Stone of Allure can also be good in PVP giving you some more control
    Will-O'-Wisp added control resistance
    Sylph added control resistence

Unless a GF is in party I do not find myself in position for combat advantage much so I don't use the companions with that bonus
