lol, its sorta funny , other then I love the bourne movies.
PVP is crazy .. rings, drains, comp actives.. all crazy. Its sorta fun crazy at times and sorta crappy crazy at other times.
However, I will contend that pvp overall was ok, until at the end of mod 3.. Mod 4 and introduction of artifact gear, was a slippery slope that would never go back on.
I lived in domination for mod 2.. with thousands of matches on 5 toons.. it was quite fun and entertaining. The one class that had a gripe in that timeframe was probably the GF, all other classes could play at that time.
That statement contradicts itself. Of course 4E was D&D. Just because it doesnt fit your individual standards how dnd should be played, does not make it any less D&D like.
And in former editions of DnD you also had an important gear dependence. It wasnt just as obvious as it is in 4E.
So many overambitious nerds dont understand that the D&D system was most of the time a plattform to create your OWN world and setting. The core books and campaign settings are not even close to being canonical integrated in some big story. They are just suggestions to give you examples how a setting could look like, or how a system could be played.
Please try to comprehend that before you want to write, what DnD is and what it is not.
What they should have done is make it a stat based PvP to skill game. Remove tenacity completely from gear, give everyone the same 45% tenacity buff upon entering any Combat area and zone. That way it pushes people to strive for better gear without focusing on a specific gear that seems to be causing a lot of issues within the game.
Currently, PvP in this game feels like it is forced down your throat, because no one "really" truly enjoys under geared PUG stomping (at least "REAL" competing PvPers don't.).
I don't know man, I think them making PvP instances more like the SWTOR dynamic would be beneficial to this game as opposed to what we are seeing, currently.
I may not be considered by most the BEST PVP Warlock on the server but, I am the most HATED amongst them.
The Only way to ...make pvp a satisfying experience "again".
Is to open an " ItemLevel specific PvP Queue" The Higher "ILQueue-Pvp" will have of course "Better & Unique Rewards!" to make attraktiv for players.
The Current PvP-Queue can stay "How is it" no Requirement just "Lower Rewards Overall", So players who just join pvp for daily Quest can go there or simple Beginners,
that's it,
<::::::[]==0 GwF 0==[]::::::> ● Still waiting for the promised Improvement ●
Its "again" cause cryptic never really did pvp well, but for quite some time it is dead cause it is the lamest experience someone could find in the internets, EVER.
The ONLY way to make it playable again is by taking the GW2 aproach and "normalizing" the game, at least in one game mode to make at least ONE game mode playable.
This will never happen cause it became super clear that craptic wants neverwinter to be the most p2w experience possible. So the 10 people still playing pvp could throw all their money into game until their wives leave them and depressed they lose their jobs and their lifes.
So long after pvp is ruined, abandoned and no one ever cares about it cryptic still find new ways to keep ruining it, by adding "awesome new features" like AP and Stamina Drain, now some new stupidly overpowered rings and so on.
now the only way is normalizing it.
How? Some ideas that will never be implemented cause it would be a good idea and cryptic hates good ideas:
-Normalize enchantments on pvp, all enchantments become rank 7 or 8. So the build still is in game but the uber disparity isn't. - Ignore epic enchantments effects on pvp. - Remove the worst idea in this game EVER, aka "tenacity" and make it as it was before, a nice way to get some alternative good looking armor. - Remove from existance those useless stronghold overcharge pvp HAMSTER. - Balance classes (they don't understand their game enough to do that "yet") but that didn't stop then to put all the HAMSTER they are puting. - remove SH buffs from pvp - Remove mount buffs from pvp.
just then the pvp would be playable again, but we all know that will never happen, so RIP.
That would make HAMSTER of pvp, the winner would be the first one to attack, or so i think. There has to be a raze to get better gear, and the better gear has to defeat the lower gear.

If the better gear always beats the lower gear, regardless of skill, then there is no point in even playing. Just add everyone's IL up, declare a winner, and save us the 10 minutes.

come, we should organize a fight wearing just lv 20 pvp gear with no enchantment! IWD go!
We tried doing open world PVP in dwarven valley naked with guild mates. We only kept our weapons on. Of course artifact weapons at legendary had some advantage. ~ People who worked for the new sets also saw an advantage. We came up with the idea because many of us are not pvpers and we wanted gear out of the picture for the most part. We were having a great time and it was still exceptionally fun. We made our own game out of it. Fully geared people came in and thought it was hillarious that they killed us all with their super BIS IL and artifacts when all we had on were weapons..I mean if thats your idea of fun to hunt people's toons standing in the forest stark naked-- I'm not one to judge.
I'm not a PVPer and because I feel like my 2.5k IL is plenty enough for any PVE content. I don't think PVPing with 3-4k+ gods is enjoyable nor do I aspire to be one. Why do I want to put all that time and money into a game to be bored 90% of the time and adventure in god mode? I like having a challenge if that's truly what it is- something that can be accomplished through skill and sheer force of will- but that's exactly what PVP here isn't or at least thats what it seems like from the outside. I don't doubt sucessful pvpers are highly skilled players-- but the gap is too large for me to close and stay free to play within reason.
