Hold to sprint option

oldgravylegoldgravyleg Member Posts: 110 Arc User
There should to be an option to hold the button down to sprint. When I release the button the character should stop sprinting. Since a stable framerate seems out of the question, this would be a good start to helping players control their characters in those 2 fps situations that arise much too often.

You click right thumbstick it makes you run without even using left thumbstick. Click it and then just "steer" with left.

Quite rude of you to complain when I answered your question exactly how you asked it. You said you wanted to be able to always sprint and that is the right thumbstick. You did not refer to the special ability of a GWF or SW. That would be like a TR constantly rolling around, or a DC constantly sliding, or a CW constantly teleporting. All of which are horrible ideas, and which would never be implemented.

The buttons on the controller don't work like that - Cryptic aren't able to change that. I know what you mean though, it's just a drawback of not having a mouse and keyboard like the pc guys.

What he is saying does make sense. It's a mechanic in the game that would have to be changed, not an issue in controller Armadeon. For instance, playing Call of Duty; to sprint you hold down/forward the left stick and if you want to stop running you just let off of the stick.

I consider that running since if you barely push forward THAT is walking.

What death said did technically answer this. I think maybe you are lost as to what you meant as well. Technically when you click Right Trigger you do sprint, and since you made no mention of a GWF's ability to basically super sprint the way you are betraying yourself is being rude to people. Next time include all the details if you have a question/issue/general concern so that you get the solution you desire.

"There should to be an option to hold the button down to sprint." quote from d d there. Saying it slowly since apparently you don't know proper English. Pressing.....right.....thumbstick.....is......a......sprint.....technically......and.....as.....such....my.....response......was.....correct.

Also: "I didn't mention GWF's ability to super sprint because GWF has no such ability. What the GWF does is a normal sprint." Once again you are confused, and clearly you don't know what you are talking about. Because Right Thumbstick is EVERY CHARACTERS NORMAL SPRINT. You may THINK it is a jog, but it is every characters normal sprint. And GWF do have the ability to basically "super" sprint by pushing Left Thumbstick. Its not called super sprint, but compared to every other characters "normal" sprint (right thumbstick down) it is like a super sprint.

Clearly you like to argue the semantics. And since you have no idea what you are talking about from your initial post, I can only assume that none of these facts are going to sink in. Just know that you are wrong because right thumbstick down is technically a sprint and therefore your initial issue/claim is invalid.
