Mod 8: Would you be willing to have mod 8 delayed 1 week to fix a few major SW and Pal problems?

So devs said there will be NO CLASS BALANCE changes for mod 8 (They said the same for mod 6 and mod 7 and 7.5) :( But some of the problems are so bad that they should not have to wait any longer. Some MAJOR stuff could be fixed with some basic patch notes so that especially PvP playabilitiy is greatly improve for mod 8 without needed to do a complete overhaul. So question is: Would you be willing to have module 8 delayed 1 week JUST to let them fix a few major balance things, even if temporary bandaid adjustments? Yes or No.

For example:
Paladin: Bubble daily is toned down to something more reasonable at least in PvP
Warlock: Avalanche boon, avalanche boon, avalanche boon. Now has internal cooldown, no multiprocs.

Just those two changes would make a lot of difference. I personally know players who will leave a pvp match if they see paladins mainly because of spamming bubble daily to make entire enemy team invincible and will not pvp with a fury warlock on their team because the sw kills them by causing avalanche to spamprocs.

no, they will break sw in the attempt
paladins need way more than just a bubble fix...
    its just pointless

All I am saying is that since full class balance is a lot of work, it would be better to fix a few major things with module 8 release than to keep them broken all through module 8 until they get to the full overhaul.

I would think the two things I suggested would take one dev like a day or two to fix, but it took over a month just to take pet active bonuses out of domination so its hard to say.

How would it break SW by adding an internal cooldown to avalanche boon? lol. And of course paladin needs more than just a bubble fix but still just a bubble fix, for now, would improve things.

From my point of view they even could delay next mod for 2month
or skip it completely would be very nice, reading that it is partly a remake of thiamat I could vomit all over my desktop repeatetly
So take your time and fix stuff

Try damnation or temptations hybrid with 15 points in fury until fix, it doesn't proc avalanche that often and the ones telling its worthless I would say they didn't even try it themself but repeating things from hearing
Specced fury one weak ago and few hours back because avalanche is so annoying, wasted 600zen...
Playing fury you have to stay far far away from cap and teammates and everything, not doing so its either suicide or Banshee style leaving dead teammates to the left and to the right, on top being treated like a leprous

    Yes. Yes! Yesyesyes. Absolutely.

Won't happen, though... ...look at what Mod 6 was like in a similar stadium - some of the worst glitches and bugs exposed during testing, else only minor chipping and filing after, even though they delayed it some weeks.

Personally i think sw is fine with certain build..

We now run epic dungeons with 2op(protection) 2dc(ap) and 1Sw…

The 2600 item level sw can kill boss alone(soulpuppy is part of sw) within 30 seconds unless you count tanks' DPS…

Every class has one broken tree now, and it sounds fair for me…

Class balancing? For what? Why?... so that your favorite class can go toe to toe with any other class? It's totally unrealistic to the spirit of Dungeons and Dragons.

It just can not be done in week. Class balance does not have to come with new mod. Balance in pvp is not a one time thing, it needs more small tweaking from time to time due to imcoming new items. Devs just forgot pvp balance for too long.

No. I'd rather have the Underdark content out there to play, then have they take time before Mod 9 to jump into some class balance issues.

PvE is tolerable for me where it is at and the issues PvE has aren't a high priority for me, in terms of content vs fixes. I couldn't care any less about PvP in Neverwinter, so that has no influence towards a yes vote for me. I'd rather them keep making PvE content and fixing PvE things as best they can. However, I do acknowledge that a decent number of folks, relatively speaking for an MMORPG, care for PvP. This is why I wouldn't mind an entire Module or Major Update devoted to PvP. I just don't think anything should be post-poned for the sake of PvP, as not only is it a minority in any MMORPG but as I said, I care little for PvP in Neverwinter (and in MMORPGs in general).
I prefer FPS and pure PvP games for PvP. The only MMOs I enjoy PvP in are the ones with World-PvP / RvR, like Shadowbane (RIP) or Ultima Online.

Feels like the way they working its gonna take months to fix even just a handful of major bugs and problems. How many months have we complained about Elven Battle now? And still no fix.

1 week would not be enough, so why bother?
    Definitely not an Arc User.

Even fixing the glaring issues with the paladin would be enough. Literally two abilities to change, Prism and Divine Protector. I doubt they would even need a week to do this if they wanted to.

I would add to this list: Binding Oath. Make the Cooldown start AFTER the effect ends, not start the cooldown once cast... With enough recov or just echos of light you can be inside Binding Oath indefinitely.

Cut the CD down, then make the CD start post-BO and that will be a MAJOR fix to the class.

I'm not really concerned about PVP problems because I don't, haven't and will never PVP in this game.

No. When it comes to class balancing they need to finally break down and fix them all not just the 2 most pressing issues. Also as we've seen in the past, most often when they try to balance a class for PvP they ruin it for PvE or vice versa. So this time around I would rather the devs actually take a long time and really really try to balance the classes against each other and also make viable for both PvE and PvP. This is not something that can be done quickly.

Sadly I don't see this being possible as the PvP and PvE tend to be different play styles and the gear you use have different stats.

Rule of the thumb in Coding: you can alway get 90% done in 10% of the time.
In reality it's more like 80/20, but you can cheat if your customer can't check the code and you control the roadmap.

People here alway seem to expect the devs to go from something terrible broken to perfect; let's just be content with "workable" as a target; get the OP from "ridiculous overpowered" to "strong class, good for beginners" and the HR from "barely acceptable as trapper, everything else useless even as a meatshild" to "difficult class, but rewarding for the experience player".

Thre's no perfect, flawless game, so no need to plan for years doing nothing, the road must be ongoing improvement, less new bugs introduced than fixed with every path, better performance when possible, but never worse, don't reap customers of options but introduce two new ones for every imbalanced one you take away.

...well, the problem is that it's the 20% of work - and old work, in addition, that the devs are no longer immersed in - that are left.

BTW the phenomenon is ubiquitous, and called Pareto rule (after it's first describer) - or simply 80/20...

Stop adding new bugs, until you've fixed the long existing bugs already in the game.

You need to understand the mentality of the game devs... as HAMSTER as it is....

You have a car. It has a flat tire. Do you...
    a) fix the flat tire
    b) buy a new stereo for the car.

The answer should be obvious, since the car is basically worthless with a flat tire. And yet the game devs mentality is to not only buy the new stereo, but to continue on and buy new seat covers, a fancy steering wheel, etc etc... all the while the car sits with a flat tire... broken and useless.

This, in a nutshell, is the cryptic way of doing things.

The frustrating thing about it is... these are not 'unknown issues'. They've been reported numerous times, and cryptic ignores them... preferring instead to add fancy new content (which will contain yet more bugs that won't get fixed).

A perfect example is the pvp 'matching' system... which clearly does not work and has been reported numerous times. And yet again tonight, I am 'matched' against someone that has a fully maxed out pvp toon, including maxed out Lionsmane gear (level 4 stuff, and I don't even have access to level 3 gear yet). The matching system thinks this is a good match for me and my 2 whole pcs of grim gear. No need to guess at the outcome, I couldn't even so much as cause damage to this person. I had 0 chance of killing them, and this one person held off all 5 people on my team for the entire match. But this will not get fixed... because they are far too busy with the new Underdark.
