i am wholehartedly for this. no amount of discussion can change my mind. good talk.
details aside... cost/effectiveness/etc. heat seaking missile detected. it makes twice as much sense and has validity, fantasy-wise.
I was making my own post of a minor discussion in-game on the broader econ/crafting adjustments, right. basically, I propse we can make stuff for someone besides self in addition (alongside this idea) to avoid the cost and buff the crafting purpose. within limits, crafting + dollar signs. win, win.

I would suggest that you shouldn't expect unbinding tokens to be used except for the highest valued items, as as I said, the cost of them will probably be fairly high in terms of zen.

Agreed. The game is an expensive pass-time if you are a cash player.
i'm trying to figure out what's been said and where. looks like i wanna say it here. in my mind unbinding/reassigning equipment/companions/mounts is a good idea in general. expensive i'm sure. mayheps best to be a tarmalune bar item. or one of those things. my thought is that we need to be able to trade something because that in itself is fun.
like if it were a jackpot. i never buy keys because there's not 1 thing in particular i can ever get...

While bar items are an interesting idea, I don't think that would fly. Bar items are bound to account for a reason.
The main goal of binding items is twofold 1.) Easily bottable items can't be sold, so bots have less impact on the economy. 2.) Ensure that the supply of goods doesn't just constantly go up.
Keeping point 1 in mind, the unbinding tokens have to cost enough that it's worth it to Cryptic to have whatever market distortion the item creates be less than the return they get from the token. Hence why I'd expect it to be a cash shop item.
But since you only get trade bars from keys anyway, I suppose that might be an exception.
Bar items are not all bound to account. Ive been considering flipping a Twilight Horse for a while now
Edit: In looking, it seems that there is little on that vendor if anything that is bound.

I stand corrected. In that case, bar item fueled unbinding tokens would be a good way for the team to encourage key consumption. This would make the VIP pack seem a better deal for instance, which would be nice.
The real problem would be in whether they'd actually want to allow things like mythic artifacts to be unbound and sold on the AH.

give me a change to boa token that rebinds to the new char. i'd be happy with that.
