One of the feature you (devs) can add to Craftmanship is to let people see 'who crafted what'. It was already implemented in an old MMO and it was a thing Crafters were proud of. Can you add this to the game? Just in the tooltip would be good enough. I don't know if it is feasible but it should give to Craftmanship a better shape.

Masterfully Crafted Longbow of Death - crafted by My Butt Hurts.
Step 2 - Stamp it with the users name.
I wish it also made sense, and provided materials that were useful for the Character making them while leveling up, and for others.
Sadly, by the time you can make Armor +1, yous character is already wearing Armor +4 they found, and almost max level.....
The problem with this game?
Level advancement too fast + Crafting Advancement too slow + Crafting rewards being relatively useless = Crafting is going to all but die. Removing AD rewards from Leadership, instead of tweaking the rewards and craft, made things worst.

That being said, it is true that our crafting system doesn't really feel like a master craftsman type system. The "crafted by" thing doesn't make sense. Why?
Because that would be personalized. And personalized items are BoP. By design. So they're ALWAYS "Crafted by, ME, DIO!"
GoT has Valyrian Steel, and the best made by named Tobho Mott.
That said, unless it provided something you cannot get from existing loot drops or crafting, then having a name attached is trivial.

The most important thing in life is to be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman.
I'm not saying a "legendary craftsman" system wouldn't be interesting but if I'm being perfectly honest, I'd rather that positions in the lore be held by NPCs.
Now, what might be interesting is if there's NPCs that give Apprenticeship quests, and by completing those quests, you can be a "Student of Etc." You could make the quests mutually exclusive, so not everyone is able to craft and sell everything (at least not without alts), to make the market more effective.
