As the title says, does anyone know what the Celeste companion drop rate is. Also will she only be available during this x2 refinement weekend. Finally, does anyone how her powers work ?
I have purchased and opened only 12 of these ruby packs which I am using to upgrade a few items on my characters. Out of the 12 I have opened I am 0/12 for the Celeste companion. 36 rubies are enough for me right now, but the companion would have been a nice bonus. It could just be my luck, I never have been very lucky in this game. I am just glad the rubies packs were on sale

In light of the recent changes, I'm not buying Zen or Zen store items this weekend. I recommend others do the same. The Celeste promotion likely won't work out for you anyway. Nature of the standard drop rate in Neverwinter.
I would have liked to upgrade some items as well, but Neverwinter is becoming a very bad investment.

Of course it's a bad investment. It's a video game!
Put money in a mutual fund, contribute more to your 401k or look at real estate if you want an investment
I don't disagree, but the prices need to be reasonable, I purchased The Witcher 3 with all the future DLC releases for $60, I can pay $60 and have a very small chance to get Celeste, they need to either lower prices or increase drop rates.

I just wish they gave her better powers - sunburst and flame pillar, with an active ability that has a 2 minute cooldown? Celeste is supposed to be *the* cleric representative, yet I'd take the Angel of Protection, Battlefield Medic, or Lillend for actual usefulness...
Give her astral seal and divine glow, then we'll talk.

There is not a hard limit to the number of Celeste's that will be given out during this event.
I very much doubt people are buying this promo. You need to give a solid % chance of the reward cause "chance" could mean .0000001% and you'd be legally advertising but still be a scam. Earn our trust, give us the chance %.

I had started to believe that NW had changed its monetization practices. I think that the VIP program is a valued added proposition, which I am pleased with. But, after purchasing 9 of the ruby packs, and not recieving the companion, I have to reconsider my opinion about NW becoming more honest and upfront about its cash propositions.
I regret investing in those packs, and I will never trust this game again in regards to offers like this. To me, the whole RNG metric in offers like this comes across as dishonest and exploitive. Sure, the add says "a chance". But, when you're spending real money, it is reasonable to expect the drop rate to be fairly good.
And I had thought NW had started to become more sincere, and less cash grab-exploitive. Shame on me for making that assumumption.
How about this? How about just offering an honest deal? How about just sell me what you're gong to sell me? How about just offering the companion on the zen store for a fair price?
Enough with the exploitive gambling propositions. How about just sell me something outright, instead of coming across as a used car dealership, trying to rip off the customer.
A more genuine promotion would have been "Buy three or more Ruby Packs and receive this companion". That actually would have been a good deal, and would have made you come across a lot more trust worthy. All you've done at this point is ensure that the consumer doesn't trust you.

It would have also been a better business decision as it would have had more buyers of ruby packs.
How about no RNG. How about just buy X number of items, get Y added. How about just doing regular business instead of leaving so many frustrated and feeling rip offed. Which is exactly how I feel.
How about not running your game like its a carnival side show, trying to deceive money out of people. How about just acting like a regular business, doing regular business in the free market, just like everybody else

That's why I'm not touching it. I only take part in the promotions that reward actual items for spending Zen, not "chance of" rewards.
Or when they add "chance of" to boxes or profession packs that I already want, and the "chance of" is a bonus.

Now Celeste is very expensive to craft. It is handmade and then imported from India to the United States. Her hair is made of sillk dyed with saffron. They have to be careful how many they let go....
i like that idea of "buying 3 packs" and you get a new companion, that RNG is too evil and not acceptable, it more like gambling tactic to gamers, most of us know better. they used Ringling Bros carnival old quote, "there are suckers born every minute".
You know what this ad reminds me of? Anyone here play everquest back in the hay days? Remember those con artists in the bazaar who would run casinos? This is exactly that scam. Only with this, you don't see the roll, Cryptic just says you lost.
Cryptic knows how to be fair they just choose not to be and its really depressing. You all wanna see where "chance" is 100% transparent in their game? Look at the daily reward in Sword Coast Adventures, it shows a visual die roll and tells you what you rolled before awarding the rewards. THAT is what they should have done if they were going to do lotto like stuff. They should also do something like this for lockboxes and packs, make it a theme since this is a frikking D&D table top game sorta would be nostalgic!
Make chest rewards roll dice visually on your screen and see how your performance in the dungeon modifies your roll, even market items or trinkets that improve dice rolls in dungeons. But instead they just leave it all blind gamble with us placing faith in them....after Mod 6.
More than likely we'll get a "we're looking into it" line again like we did with the Priestess of Selune and other companions that are single-character over account-wide.. all about that moneh!
Same issues here, 13 ruby packs and nothing...Didn't bother after that.
I can't believe you guys are paying out that kind of money after the recent decisions they've been making. I grant that I did spend a few dollars for 2xRP, even though I promised myself I wouldn't, but that kind of money makes them feel they have a pretty good bead on things....

Why not just buy some of the packs (Knight of the Feywild for example, i bought that one for 5100 ZEN, 15% discount coupon...) with companions in it for much less or the same ZEN, and get a companion for every character on the whole account? Some people... and it even clearly says, that there's ONLY a CHANCE to get Celeste.

is still just sitting there and waiting for an real answer and solution.
So you can open 2 packs for 10% chance and hope you have luck or buy 20 packs and get the compagnion.
With this "chances" i will not buy packs for this or open lockboxes with zen from real money.
