Maybe you aren't killing the Empowerers when they show up.
We tried slay one easy one with ten players and some how time came up and we took down each empowerers when they came up... maybe each players needs better gear, full boons or we just need 15 - 20 poorly geared players to slay one dragon.

Well...we had a blast tonight killing dragons. Did two dragons three times, then worked up the courage to split into three teams and murdered Black, Red and Green four times in a row. Was some of the most fun we've had as a guild in a long time...had about 20 people on to do it.
I've noticed simple things like feat choices/power choices make a huge difference. I do 3-10x more damage as a Destroyer than I did as an Instigator. Depends on how long the battle goes. Just switched today.

it's awesome, no one said it's not , but coming from the campfire and insta dying again and again it's not fun, its way to PALADIN dependent, and this makes it unfun.
same thing happens in dungeons too.
Not true, we had a GF tanking the red dragon on one run.

We had two paladins and a GF tanking, and three DC healers. More or less because that's who was online.
We also had people of various iLevels, and not everyone was level 70. Some people stayed alive better than others, but those who died just kept running back in, and throwing what DPS they had against the dragons. That, in my mind, was the most impressive part of the night...everyone contributed, no one complained.
And one of the first runs, we killed the dragons with seconds left on the timer. Had those people not committed themselves to the fight, we wouldn't have been able to do it. Every percent of DPS matters.
My advice to guilds trying to figure this out. Start with Red. He's your basic dragon. When the empowers appear around him, have ranged and nearby melee kill them, then get back on the dragon. Once you get comfortable killing red, try green.
Green is tougher because you'll be taking roughly 5k AOE damage ticks from poison surrounding the dragon. You have to heal through it, it can't be stopped. There's a lot more AOE on the ground than red, but people just need to stay calm and ignore the damage they can't stop, hope the healer can keep up and DPS down the dragon and empowers.
When you get good at green, then divide your forces and start tackling red and green at the same time. We did both with about 10-12 players, depending on how well geared they are. If anything, put a few more better geared people on green, and let your lower geared people tackle red.
Try to keep the DPS as even as you can. You need to get down about 10% each minute. If one group is much faster than the other, or one dragon is falling way behind, try to have someone move. When one dragon gets down to 10%, hold DPS until the other dragon is near 10%. Then burn both down.
A note about the timer. If you kill a dragon, regardless of how much time is left on the event, you get a "bonus" minute to kill the rest. So if the first dragon dies with 10 seconds on the clock, you get a full minute to DPS down the last dragons. That helped us a lot on our first run at three. One of the dragons was way behind, so at 0:45 to go, we gave the kill order, and they died with about 10 seconds to go...that then gave the last dragon an extra minute to "hurry up and die" and we knocked out all three.
Anyway, it's an awesome event. It's basically a true raid experience that people have been asking for since Neverwinter went live. It takes a little planning, coordination and some dedication.
But seeing the guild pull together and nuke down three dragons was a huge win for us, and one of the most satisfying things we've done as a large group in a long, long time. Now we just need to get a strike team to figure out how to kill blue reliably, and we'll be burning down all four before we know it
Dragon damage they do is OK for me, but hitpoints and required DPS to bring one down is not for all.
We tried twice and with 7- 10 players we got dragon down to 16 - 20% so we need 5 - 10 players more to bring it down.
We had 10 players and they classes are what they are , their equipment's are that what they have and requirements join guild is will to to do so...
If event is done for all guilds and players, it is then quite obivius that small guilds+low geared players are not included.
BTW, I joined small guild because joining BIG guild is easy button to reach all stuff, I look forward to see what level our guild will reach during this mod and how much requirements fixes we get, .
I ran it solo briefly yesterday, they hurt, but didn't deal nearly that sort of damage for me and I'm a TR glass canon build. I didn't succeed but then i didnt expect to, and I've heard that they are generally on par with the dragons at well of dragons, so essentially a decently geared team of 5 could potentially take 1 down, or a team of 10+ medium/low gear should be able to.
Can I ask what class you are and what gear and defensive stats you have in play? It may be gear or stat related?

We're a casual guild.
I just put a post up in our forums a couple days in advance letting people know we were going to murder some dragons on this day at this time, and people showed up. And then we killed dragons.
A group of 10 people in T2 gear should be able to take down one of these dragons. If your group isn't quite there yet, run some more T2's, get some more Protector's Seals and then try again. Also make sure people are using group oriented skills that add buffs and debuffs, as those go along way, too.
This module isn't even two weeks old...take the time to gear up, practice on the dragons more and build a little more enthusiasm in your guild for these events and you'll get it, I'm sure.

I am lvl59 SW, normal gear what lvl59 SW can have, how I can get gear and solo dragon like this guy do and I have all rank5´s enchants, no AD for respec or upgrades.
There is no problems to survive there, but DPS is needed is too high for casuals, and it is content what is meant for all not "end game" or "epic" sheetz what is made for 0.1% of players.

The dragon fangs that drop from these dragons will let you purchase Dragonflight gear, which is by far best in slot.
So yes, this is end-game content.
You shouldn't expect your lvl 59 SW to be anything but cannon fodder. Go ahead and help your guild -- as Ironzerg noted, any dps is a plus -- but expect to die constantly.

Yeah the melee in our guild drop like flies on red dragon. We have managed a couple of kills with 8 and then 10 players but most times we end up just short, with like a bar or two left. Having said that we don't generally have tanks or healers - we tackle it like a HE, so perhaps we need to change tactics and bring tanks/healers.
Our pain is self chosen.

Also, don't forget your Greater Potions of dragon slaying and your protection from dragons scroll.
OK, the problem is not that we cannot clear them, the problem is
1. the dragons do insane damage
2. to stay alive you need a paladin that pops the bubble daily almost everytime and does a binding oath at the end of it.
without that surviving at the red dragon and blue dragon is nearly impossible.
either way, this thread is about the damage that is inflicted, but if you want a game that is balanced around broken stuff, sure.
you have a broken dragon ora boss that one shots you, to counter him you need a broken pally, you have a broken dragon or a boss that deals insanely damage, you need a DPS DC or SW to do insanely broken damage.
LIKE i said the dragons are clearable, but i just dont like as a GWF to die billions time, and have a game that have broken NPC and use broken classes to fight them.
1. Yes the dragons can do insane damage when the empowerers are up. Melee especially needs to clear out for a second and get rid of those empowerers or just wait for them to be cleared before re-engaging if your gear or character level is a tad low.
2. This is simply not true. Yes Divine Protector is nice to have but a GF using Knights Valor will do the trick nicely. If they get low they can just pop Fighters Recovery and Heal back up. People get too complacent when they get used to having the bubble and take unnecessary damage as a result. A GF using Into The Fray will give you a higher damage boost and the run-speed will allow you to get out of trouble more easily if you are low on stamina. Both GF and Pally have their strengths and weaknesses.
Melee is always at a disadvantage with Dragons. It's no different than any dragon that has ever been created in the game. Part of being a good melee character is positioning yourself to not take immense damage while still getting your damage off.

It looks like "dragon events" are not for us, just for bigger guilds.
...but it is good to see how things are and there is no way with current resources to complete it, positive is that all gear will became obsolete by new mods so taking break for gear upgrades for month or two and look again could be the thing now.

While I don't know whether anything is "broken" regarding the DC or not, I will note that having a healer is part of the dynamic of MMOs, so you can't say "it only works if you have a DC!" because that's the entire point.
Really, the bigger is why are DC the only healer class. Hence why people keep assuming that Underdark is going to add druids to the game (since they can feasibly be healers).
Other possible, but unlikely, healers: Bards, Warlords, Ardents (HA!), Artificer (only if they were going to try and add Warforged, which don't exist in canon in the FR, though I guess if they brought Gond back or something that might work, but definitely not happening in Underdark).

Does this mean that there's no bugs? Of course not. Just that I haven't seen those bugs in person.
But I have a very limited sample size.
