So I can distinctively remember doing the patch for strongholds, but now it's trying to patch something else... sometimes I can bypass it and get to the the part with the red/black and "Neverwinter Dungeons & Dragons" but mostly it keeps trying to patch something.. idk if I should patch it or not!

Do you have on-demand patching enabled or disabled? Perhaps the game is trying to load you into a section you haven't already updated...

That's very odd. Does the game show any actual progress, (like total file size or anything), if you do allow it to patch? Do you have the option to try to force-verify all files, or to launch in safe mode?

Very odd. I haven't heard of this happening before. I know they are going to do a patch tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure it's not pre-patching tonight.

My suggestion then would be to let it run overnight and see what happens.

I'm going to move this to the technical support subforum. Maybe someone reading those can give more incite.

Did you move your patcher file (Neverwinter.exe)?
If not, please try closing down the patcher (then look in Task Manager and make sure the game and patcher are not still running in the background) then go into File Explorer and rename the .patch and prepatch folders (located in *\Neverwinter\Neverwinter\Live) to something like .patchBU and prepatchBU and then reloading the launcher and see what happens.
If you got in a corrupt patching loop, doing this should clear that and then you can go back and safely delete those renamed folders. Also, you can try deleting the .HOGG files in the cache folder, but I don't think these affect patching.
how the hell do i do all that? i am not good with computers
never mind i see what u are saying
Instead then, before signing into the launcher, click on Options on the top. In that new window that opens, check mark Force Verify, then click Save at the bottom. After the window closes, log in and let it verify your installation. While it won't get rid of those patch files, it should detect what the issue is and fix it -- which should then lead to any corrupt patch loop being resolved.
The only other thing I can suggest that doesn't involve manual file trickery, is to uninstall the game completely and reinstall it, as a fresh install should give you the latest patches in one large go.
If you do a fresh re-install, just make sure you first go back into launcher options before logging in and uncheck On demand patching, else you will have to patch in-game everytime you load to an instance. A full game patch will be between 14-16 GB.
