hey guys,

I've recently started playing again after been gone since the middle of last year.

Where has everyone gone in PvP? And where are the guilds? they used to be sooooo active in pvp...is this game worth getting into again?

Being a new player in this game has never been so difficult as it is now. At the same time, if Cryptic lives up to the promises, mod 8 might bring a ton of fun, so starting now to have a solid foundation might be a good idea.

Can you give a bit of a run down about it? I've been gone for about six months as well and I'd love to get a tl:dr of the changes since tiamat while I'm waiting for things to download.

Thing's have changed considerably in the last year I'm afraid. PVP is still active, but most everyone runs GG instead of domination as the rewards are greater.

The game has lost a fair number of its dedicated players since the introductuon of mod 6, but strongholds is out tuesday, so maybe we'll see people return. Who knows.

But in general, if you are returning, you will notice that gameplay and levelling have become considerably harder and take far longer.

I think i'll wait till strongholds comes out before deciding to invest time/zen all over again... i was only really interested in pvp, so unless that becomes interesting again i'll opt out.

Well that's pretty awesome about leveling. One of my big complaints is that leveling was too fast and too easy. It's too bad that it sounds like not much progress has been made in pvp.

I just started a new cw...but haven't given him any special gear or anything. I dunno about this lvling thing, he's already 23, i noticed that they've added 60-70 lvls, but the speed of lvling seems just as fast as ever to me!?

60-70 is what makes it insane. You are complaining that it's easy now, you'll complain that it's impossible and terribly boring once you hit 60 and aim for 70.

I think you misunderstand... nothing changed for 1-60 as far as I know. But 61-70 is reportedly now a base time of about 8-10 hours of mindless grinding per level with no engaging content to support it. If that still sounds delightful to you, then you're in the minority.

Yeah I'd do EVERY quest, skirmish and dungeon available to you on the way to 60. If you over level it a bit no prob, because once you hit 60 the content is..not the best ever produced, until you hit 70 at which point the old lvl 60 Sharandar and Dread ring become viable again, Elemental evil zones for 60-70 are definitely not an experience I would recommend to a friend. But as there's nothing else ...
I'd try to hit everything along the way and hopefully you might be 62 or 63 by the time you progress into Drowned shore which should mean you have to do the minimum vigilance tasks in each zone and actually finish Spinward at 70 and get the shiny artifact weapon, not hit DS at 60 and finish Spinward at 68 and have an arti weapon you can't use without 2 more levels of grinding vigilance quests.
