Repentant Cultist - what's up with this companion? the key never drops.

Done TMS, Drake Pens, and Cult Prison every day since launch of WoD. On multiple characters. I only ever saw it drop the key one time in the first week or two in drake pens. Since that time the key has never dropped over hundreds of runs.

Seems broken.

IIRC & AFAIK the key is a lockbox item... ...but I might be wrong there.

I helped out some guy I ran across in WoD because he asked for help with the instance up at that portal. The Key dropped, this was the first time I've seen this, but the companion was bound to character.

RNGesus is not a kind or just god, it's just how he rolls. The drop rate seems to be fairly low. I've gotten several Yetis and not a single cultist.

There is a trick to get the key and the last time i asked in this (or more likely the old) forum it was a legit method: If you have the tayan portal daily quest thingy (the tayan outpost) run straight to the endboss chamber, normaly stuffs follow but some lose track, enter the boss room, kill the boss. Some monster from the dungeon will come and kill you (let them kill you, DON'T OPEN ANY CHESTS OR STUFF). If you get killed you are back at the entrance, you leave the dungeon, it reset and you can do it again. You can a dungeon run within 5 minutes.

Note: The key is bound to account. The cultist is bound to character.

I don't think this method works, last time I did WoD lairs, you couldn't enter it again after leaving - neither new lair, nor the one you left.

If you loot the chest, the quest resolves which makes the lair not active, but if you mean you purposely tried to leave and go back, then it's possible they made it like Need for Mead (which resolves when you leave whether you finished it or not). Prevent people from trying to farm the key.

Hmm... that wouldn't work with the first run through Cult Prison, since loads of people have to bail at the boss, but it's also a different version of the quest.
