In 90% of my Tiamat runs no says a word to any possible new people on how to do it. They all remain quiet, or pre-complain about GS. Yes they will take the time to write out complaints BEFORE they happen.
In most of them most of the people don't group. In most of them people do not discuss teams. In most of them it's a bunch of solo players refusing to be social.
Yet, here you people are trying to blame GS... wow.
The player base is the problem, refusing to play the game correctly and communicate with each other, refusing to group up, refusing to discuss strategy, etc... Why? Because IF you try to do that, someone will insult you most of the time. This community is utterly toxic and this thread is just more proof of it.
You want everyone to have a high enough GS or skill level, so you can succeed without strategy, without communication, and without talking to each other.
Most people are sitting in zone 10+ minutes before Tia starts, there is plenty of time to sit there and teach and talk and plan before the match, and only a few do that.
Yes, it's hard to to that with the constant spam nonsense being sent to zone, but it's not an excuse not to do it.
You do that more, then you might see more than half a team actually wearing dragon souls etc...
A raid channel would be nice, and I hope it is implemented in the future.
Which leads to the other problem caused by the player base. What is common practice now is for the so called higher GS people to go into the Raid late at specific times. Thus getting in there and have ZERO time to communicate or group up or talk about strategy etc... More refusal to do the things that make the Raid go smoother, all in an attempt to get away from people that may be new... It's absurdly counter productive.
Teach more and more people and you remove more and more weak links, and reduce the risk of fails, but no... keep up these current silly tactics... yeesh.
What is counterproductive are ppl goin to a raid they dont have any idea how to do. Ppl spam tactics all the time. And if they really wanted to get better they would ask and ppl will give them advice. I never see ppl outside asking for help or advice. As i said earlier its not about tactics most of the time. Its about dps. Which almost all low gs players dont have. I dont care how u build your character. 10k is to low a gs for tiamat to be useful. Alot of us work and have families and not much time to play. So when we do we wanna get stuff done. Not babysit and carry ppl. I get asked for advice and help all the time ( not in tiamat tho) , and i help when i can. But its not fair to ask us to help carry a guy with 10k gs just because he wants to check out tiamat and hope we win for a good drop. 13k is a reasonable request to ask for. But when i see a guy with 10k gs wearin green rings tryin to do tiammat it gets frustrating.

Tiamat gs requirements should be changed. Everyone who says its good as it is is 10-13k gs, simple as. Like "it would be too easy for you so carry me!" - lol, no one can tell me its fun to be carrying a player against my will.
Everyone expects this game to be too easy. If the gear score changed to above 13.5k for a queue, I would want Tiamat to be much harder for that lobby to make it a challenge. 7/10 it's easy with the mixed lobbies atm. In previous mmos I played ( Everquest 2) new raid content would take months for even the most geared and dedicated guilds to complete; here we complain if we can't kill Tiamat on the first day. I am more likely to contine to play this game if there is a challenge.
This is a very good point. I do hope the developers just say, 'Deal with it bro' regarding hard or difficult zones or campaign sections (Tiamat included). While I did vote for a separate queue here, its more to eliminate the GS class vitriol that is WAY out of control.
p.s. If you're a cleric wearing anything but high prophet set, you should be permanently banned from tiamat regardless of gs.
This is somewhat misleading if not overtly myopic.
Yes, for the \ any boss, HP is the best pure option but the 5%+5% (damage and crit reduction) with the Draconic Templar, on everything within 50' of you, is nothing to sneeze at. It also works on your proximity, not your ability to first hit something (the same something) 3 times, and keep hitting that same something to keep it up, as the HP set does. Also, the HP bonus does not stack, so 5 clerics on a boss is still just 30%.
For survivability, the stat bump from HP to DT is 1000+ not the least of which is an action point gain (keeping Hallowed Ground down more often). The bump also adds much in they way of defence. A dead Cleric leads to a dead party, quickly.
I wore my HP set until it got holes in it, and I still have it, but to insinuate that a Cleric is obtuse for not wearing it is intellectually dishonest and grossly biased.
5% crit/damage reduction is worth less than a sneeze in tiamat.
If it stacks with other Clerics (that I do not know), it's the best debuff we could have overall. Alone, it's less than the HP bump but still appreciated. Apparently, you do not see it this way.
Survivability is not an issue, this game allows you to be completely immune to damage when you dodge.
That's a assuming you have the stamina to keep doing so. And dodging takes time; time you could be casting. Also, Tiamat is not the only raid in the game. With only 5 in other instances, survivability is a big deal; try running Epic Shores with no tank these days and see how well you last with Grakas and inadequate defense (HP + Deflect + Life Steal + Defence).
Also, it can be expensive to swap enchantments when changing gear if done so for any given circumstance.
What's important is helping people put more damage onto the dragon's heads, because that's why runs are failing.
It's certainly not the only reason nor the main one IMHO. Poor communication, quitting early, and the wrong souls on the heads are equally weighted obstacles to victory.
Again, you have a choir mate with your appreciation of the HP set; it was not until the Templar gear dropped that I changed from it. It just seems like you do not appreciate all that you are missing (or not missing) when considering other options. To cast informed others as ignorant actors is irresponsible and an unnecessary ostentatious dismissal.
I think a 3rd option should've been on the poll - linking access to Tiamat to the Campaign.
Just as you cannot access Shores or LoL without unlocking the Campaign window, players should have to reach the Tiamat window to access the Tiamat 'dungeon'.
The lowest GS for someone getting there will be 12k but most will be over 13k and will have unlocked at least 4 boons.
It also makes total sense in terms of game progression, otherwise it's like jumping to the end of a book before you've read the middle.

I'm not sure where you get those numbers but that is not true. You can easily unlock the campaign with a gear score below 10k. My warlock is under 9500 and has much of the campaign unlocked. None of the campaign is gated by GS. You may need a certain gearscore to get into LoL or shores but you don't need to get in them to do the campaign.
Hmmm I could wear my Accursed Diabolist set and get the Hellfire set bonus, but only have 13k GS... or I could wear my Draconic Templar gear, losing Hellfire thus cutting my DPS down by like 40%, but increasing my GS to ~14.5k.
Yeah Gearscore is HAMSTER stupid. I'll stick to the Hellfire and continue melting things.

You get some fairly decent GROUP bonuses from the Templar set though. I agree some sets are better, but mainly for solo players. If you are always running with a group, the set that helps the GROUP would be the best.
Before, you say "what use would I be to the group if my DPS is down to blah blah". Just know that you would be helping your group as a whole by wearing that set. I am not sure if buffs/debuffs stack with this armor, but if 5 of you SW had the armor taking 5% damage off....that decreases the bosses damage by 25%, which is pretty good.
Is taking damage at Tiamat an issue? I never die at the dragon heads unless nobody pops the correct gem, in which case reducing the damage would accomplish nothing.
