Andy (StrumSlinger) has stated in another post that this will be evened out when Strongholds drops next month.
    1. At first, leveling was too fast, which is why the development team increased the XP gain. True, they might have increased the grind by more than what players are used to, but in my personal opinion, eight hours isn't really that much for an MMO. That being said, Strongholds will make it easier to level in that range.

Let's keep this productive and civil, so I am not forced to close it, eh? Thanks.

I am just not sure where that 8 hour number comes from, a GWFs or a healer/tank?

It was in reply to user greenkrickett "it took me 8 hours to level from 62 to 63". Trawling through their posts, they were most likely playing a warlock.

The problem with what @strumslinger said there, though, is that it's because there's more stuff to do in Stronghold that can generate XP, not so much that the XP requirements are being lowered. The real complaint here is that people are starting Drowned Shores at 60, doing all leveling areas and finishing Spinward Rise and are still a level or two short of 70 - which means they've earn their artifact but can't use it yet. Even with all the new stuff that comes along with Stronghold, it won't change the fact that the new leveling areas don't supply enough XP.

If that's intended, then.. ok, that's fine - but they should perhaps modify the minimum levels for each area so that they can ensure someone that starts Spinward can, at the very least, use the reward given at the end of it even if that means they can't roll straight from the Fiery Pit to Spinward right away, but instead need to seek some XP from other venue for a level before they can get to Spinward. Simply changing the thresholds without considering where players should be, level wise, at different points in the game's storyline shows a serious lack of insight into how the game is actually played (vs. how the producers think the game is play).

They went overboard and didn't even address it as an issue even though it is turning off the majority of the playerbase who want to either start playing the game or play alts.

They just turned leveling into a real grind, so that they can sell those new XP booster better. Nothing more, and nothing less is behind the change to the XP system.
I bought the inscribed garment box today, it's for the whole account/every character and that way i get at least 20% more XP back.

But i'm not going to put down 60$ per character for those XP boosters.

Besides, what would even be the point for buying those XP boosters after level 70?

The overflow has only 1 important item in it, the power point, and you only have a random chance on getting it.
I got a few XP tomes from my last overflow, and the joke is on me/the player, since those XP tomes still give the same low amount of XP.
