Professions - Alchemy ???

I cant gain alchemy exp cause i cant do "alchemical research" cause i dont have "basic alchemical knowledge". Can someone explain to me how to raise alchemy?

    It is not 100% from that task either...it will take a few tries.

    And.. if you're professioning on the Gateway, it won't show you if you get the research or not.. you'll have to check your prof inventory.

    I too have a question since we're on the topic.to lvl from 20 to 21 I need to do experimentation as I have done to advance,correct? my confusion is that I have done it several times and get nothing but the pot. nor do I see how many scrolls I need or amount of exp to get lvl 21.is there a certain amount of times I need to do or what am I missing?

    After you finish a level 20 experimentation, you will get an extra level 20 task. Yes, it is not obvious if you do not check the task list carefully. After you get all the extra level 20 tasks, the level 20 experimentation task will disappear and you will be in level 21.

    The Rank 20 Experimentation task does not grant [Basic Alchemical Knowledge] and disappears from your list as soon as you have acquired recipes to do the 3 potions available at lvl 20.

    Knowledge is awarded randomly. My experience is still that roughly 1 in 3 experiments succeeds when you average them out.

    You can see how much knowledge you've gained towards your research by unchecking the option to hide tasks you don't have the stuff to do. Then it will show you 2/3 or whatever.

    that's my problem is it shows no amount of knowledge needed (yes i have all my filters off to see every task).i have a task for major unstable potion and 1 for an experimentation task.So if i read it right i need to do experimentation till i aquire flask of potency and protection? the wiki only says that experimentation only makes unstable pot as does the task for unstable potion,so i am still abit confused,i did this 12x so far and don't seem to be advancing. thanks for the help

    Ah, rank 20 research is hidden unless you have all the recipes unlocked. Since those experiments could have been completed years ago, they couldn't include a knowledge requirement to start the new levels. You need to experiment until the game unlock two more potion recipes. The experiment task will disappear and the research task will appear.

    To advance from rank 20 you must learn all of the potion recipes available at rank 20 from the experimentation task. These recipes are: Major Flask of Potency, Major Flask of Protection and Major Unstable Potion. Once you learn those three, a new task Alchemical Research will appear in you task list that will advance you to Rank 21.
