prizes were nice, though smth was seriously wrong with burning gear boxes - i got like 6 of the same gauntlet, 4 or 5 of them in a row, then the other gauntlet and then again the first
imho you should keep the npc and give tokens else pvp is a ghost town, those 1000 token accessories seem to be a fail, not enough stats, we need pvp rings with 2 sockets, maybe 100 token box that drops a 2 socket ring with mod6 stats an alternative to personalized rings, the ones you can buy for glory seem to be stuck in mod5
ofc there are a lot of issues with pvp, like disconnects(lost a few pages cause of bug that disconnects you if the queue tries to teleport you while you are changing maps) some balance issues, queue putting 2 ppl with green gear @1600 ilvl in one team in a game where everybody else is around 3k or higher
Yeah I got 2 pieces of elemental gear, figured that was the best I could hope for, and only got second piece on last day. Did get five pairs of useless movement/regen stat boots, though. Wish they'd let you just buy the piece you want instead of rolling the RNG crapshoot on it. Hopefully the boxes will be available during NCL regular season.
You don't even have SW fill the top 40 in top1000, only 13 players made it to top1000, can we plz get some attention?

I do not think that Cryptic is stupid enough to allow them to be sold or account wide. It was won by one character... that character is the one that gets it. If you want account wide... PvP with your other toons.

I am very disappointed with this event. Not because it was a bad idea; it is a good one and i hope there will come more events like this. What really made it unfair, is the huge amount of unsolved problems in pvp like unbeatable Paladins etc, but main thing: THE DISCONNECTS AND THE AUTOKICK AFTER TRYING TO REJOIN.
I was on p. 1 for more than two weaks in this event, best placement was place 2. In the last five days of the event i experienced more than 20 disconnects, so that i or someone of my team got disconnected and was unable to rejoin. Like this a winning game was lost, sometimes with 400 points lead. at the end of this series of DCs i was not even in top 40 of my class anymore. I was one of those who played the most games during this event, 2. most wins and so on and all this effort will be for nothing. No Mount after all.
If i would have played badly, i would not mind, but if i lose pages and pages for things i can not influence like disconnects, what do you expect me to think?
So i am really disappointed as you can imagine. And the main question that is left is - how do you thing a competetive event can be fair and representative with that disconnect and autokick from group issue? Not to mention the balancing of classes, especially OPs.

Are you using ComCast? cus theres many ppl that has connectivity issue and it seems they are all using ComCast.I connect from Australia which is known to have HAMSTER Internet and I only experienced one disconnection during the whole event....

SWs have been screwed really. As a solo player you tend to end up losing more games because of being matched against premades, and as a SW you die a lot because of class problems, which is probably why SWs are so low. I've played probably a couple of hundred matches in the league, got a couple of thousand of assists, and people from other classes were above me who'd played only two matches.
First off, thanks for the event. It was quite fun despite poor implementantion.
The rewards are kinda disappointing, but it's preseason so i guess i'll just life with it. I feel that TOP 40 of each class is not good method to reward players, because a lot depends on class popularity. For example, CW's and TR's had it the most difficult, because these classes seems to be the most popular and getting for top 40 was quite a challenge. While classes like SW could get away with very little effort, cause it's not popular class and you could easily get in to top 40 with just several wins.
If rewards are going to improve with the full season, consider adding additional requirements such as, top 5% of each class get's a reward + special reward for those in top 100. This way even if you play unpopular class you'd still have to put some effort.
If players dc in pvp they shouldnt get auto kicked while trying to rejoin. Give them at least 3-5 min to come back.
I would love to see better pvp sets as a reward and less RNG based. Recent ones were very small upgrade and getting them was really not fun, because of RNG.
PS. I hope mounts are going to be BTC - because only character which fought in the NLC should get the reward not others.
So how much did the top pvp guilds pay you all to host this event? Most are horrible players and without their cheating/exploiting would not be BiS with r12's.

is the level ranking based on being level 70? I don't even see anyone from the 60 - 69 category in rankings, including a TR who had 2 deaths and hundreds of kills....

I agree with these points, and if these unbalances could be looked at and tuned, I think PvP would become a better place. I would even dare to say that these issues need more attention than HR Perma CC (not an HR myself).
All in all, it was good to see an event like this. I am particularly pleased that there was a preseason to test things.
That said, there are a number of issues that really need to be looked at which I hope have become clear.
Areas that need changed are:
1- the matching system - Can someone please explain as to how people are matched? Is it based on where they are on the leaderboard? Is it Item Level? Is it just whoever is on? Something needs to be done to improve this, and crucially to have a separate track for pre-mades and solo q. The only issue here is part pre-mades where I would but 2/5 groups in with pugs but 3/5 and 4/5 in with premades (although of course this is harsh on the solo players joined to them).
You need a clear transparent system whereby people know why they are being matched and face someone who is a challenge but not too hard. Being simply destroyed over seconds reduces the playerbase.
2- the leaderboard - I cannot really make any sense of who scored where. I had two alts in the top 1k which frustratingly dropped out on the last day (although I checked after it closed - sigh). But they weren't my best characters with at least one ranking higher in the pages in game. Please be transparent and consistent about this. Yes people will change the way they play accordingly, but I can live with that.
My sense btw is that those defending nodes are already getting some kind of bonus as both my characters who did well were my very defensive ones (Oppressor CW and DC). But this needs explained so people know what they are being rewarded for.
3 - leavers. Anyone leaving a match should have their whole account banned from queing for a while (it seems inconsistent atm) and they should also be marked as a loss. Yes, like everyone else I have suffered from disconnects. This should allow you to re-enter the match without being kicked if the match is still going. Obviously you have to fix this to punish leavers, but I have seen a lot of times when people just left a match when they were losing a bit, HAMSTER the rest of the team and of course artificially enhancing their own standing. Not being DCd at all would be good too.
There are a bunch of other points already well made. Barkshield needs adjusted to be in line with new HPs, Negation, Feytouched are too powerful, there seems to be something wrong with Avalanche to hit as hard as it appears to, no permacc should be possible (but you currently need it to kill some OPs), GFs should not be killier than GWFs etc. but on the whole I think if you address those three points above it would be great.
One more thing - you need to look at whether this can work in GG also. Maybe have a separate GG league? Assuming of course you fix that GG doesn't award double or triple kills.

I lost at least 15 times due to my own disconnections, each of those was a loss. I would say that I lost another 10 to 15 due to one of my teammates disconnecting. That is 30 matches, minimum, out of the 150 matches I entered.. 1/5 were decided by disconnections and not talent.
I would say that 10 of those losses, happened to me when my team was winning. The other 5 I was dc'd during the Map Transfer... I never set foot in the arena. I am not so arrogant to say that ALL of my dc's would have been wins, but I do know that 10 were on the verge. 5 of them, one never knows. The 15 others... again... one never knows if the field was even.

Yeah I wish I would have quit playing when I was 15-2 and on page 9 before it started constantly making me the 5th player in a PVE guilds 4 man queue against full BIS premades.
I disabled on demand patching a long time ago, in NCL got 3 disconnections in over 200 games or so.
Am i the only one that is happy about going from a green 80% upgraded Shadow Wolf to the armoured thing?
Looks like you all already got epic mounts. I loved my wolfie but couldn't upgrade it to purple. That armoured thing is cool however. Looks HAMSTER.
NCL was weird for me. I can say 100% that 1v1 there are a lot of GWFs that outgear me out there.
Plus i'm a "PvE" type enchants user: Pure Plaguefire and GSoulforged with Lathander set. Can't switch to FOTModule enchants that cost 2x now (Negation, Terror, Fey...come on...) and only 2.6k iLvL.
So how do i think i made it to top 40 in the end, doing only solo queue and never quitting a match (except the couple of games where my team ended 3v5, there the game ALLOWS you to leave, which is legit)...
- Luck. You need that too. But i'd say it was not the main factor.
- Experience. I made my team rotate, coordinated them every time, and managed to reverse more than a few games i would lose, just knowing how to increase their efficiency and set up the best vs. Many GWFs who would beat me 1v1 just play for themselves and give up as soon as they get killed too much or see the match is not going well.
- Worked for my team. My K/D ratio gone to hell. Doesn't matter. I was able to make a difference in many games, even if it was just stalling 2x geared sabo TRs with a Leap-daggers-RS troll rotation for a whole match (got compliments from team for that), dying eventually from SE and piercing spam, but managed to keep them busy enough to allow my team to profit from that on the other nodes.
In one match (hopeless and lost) i fought the entire match me and CW vs geared DC and Saber (BiS gear GWF) on mid. Goes without saying, i went like 0-38 k/d.
- Never gave up. Almost. Except in clearly "no-contest" games. I kept fighting, always, and that allowed me to reverse some games.
Always let losing teams get points for reward if needed, and agreed to cap trade (no need to frustrate a losing enemy further).
The last 3 points allowed me to constantly float at the edge of the top 40, around page 20-22-25. Only a couple of times falling back to page 40+. Overcoming the obvious lack of gear to some extent.
Luck was needed cause i was at page 22, got a last match before maintenance vs ALL ranked, strong PvPers. But got also a strong team so we organized, endured (it was a hard fight), tightened and took the lead. In the end they got 1 quit and that win made me jump from page 22 to page 18.
Whic brings us to another weird factor of NCL: losing one match 4v5 i could jump back 8 pages, and then winning i would barely jump ahead a couple of pages.
iLvL brackets would help a lot alleviating some matchmaking issues. And some better class distribution. Got games with 2 DC+ Pally on one team, and no healer on the other.

And NCL should have solo queue forced.
never quit a match even 3vs5 you will lose more pages than just losing the game.
imho duo or even 3 would be ok, but not more, but it should add rating for matchmaking so it looks up tougher opponents, i pvp solo, but pvping with friends is fun, and thats what gaming should be about
