Storyline like in Elemental Evil? aka 48 very boring quests in each zone?

experience a unique set of quests written by the creator of Drizzt, R.A. Salvatore.
This alone makes me hopeful it will be something better than what was put out in mod 6, though something in the pit of my stomach tells me even good quests can be marred by Cryptic's signature poor rewards.

Mod 6 was focused on increasing the level cap to 70 really. So production of actual content suffered, and what little there was was aimed at providing levelling zones.

Mod 7 will be extended guild functionality. Currently there is not much point in guilds, so Strongholds will be very welcome to revitalize guilds.

Mod 8 should be more focused on telling a story and making good content again. I have high hopes.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't include the NW version of the "story".

But OT: It would be a shame if they went about it as sloppy and boring as EE. If they ruin the drow world for me in such a manner, I'm seriously moving over to SCL and hope they do a better job. I have too many good (and horrible) memories from the Drow society from other DnD games to let this one ruin it for me.

Count on it being sloppy, from what I have seen in game since launch, also look at the way Vanilla messed up the forums and the (sigpic) between different forums.

I think so long as they follow the storyline that R.A. Salvatore write for them for the module, they should be true to Drow society, or at least as it is in Menzoberazzan. But I still wonder how much dislike there will be for our playing characters as most of us are not playing drows. Well of my 16 characters I only have 1.

Probably one thing is certain we are bound to see Jarlaxle, Gromph, Matron Zeerith as probably either NPCs or quest givers. I wonder too if this would be the way, if they wanted to, to introduce the psionic classes, either as the mystic or some other one.

Maybe it is something to do with machinations that Loth has been doing, trying to usurp other gods, the weave etc. Maybe in the storyline she attacked the other demons realms and they are seeking revenge, and her main followers are the easiest targets. It will be interesting to see, for certain.

These are the things that I feel will happen in M8.

    - The Underdark's reaction to the Drow players will be rather harsh... more than if they were another race.
    - I am not sure Lolth will be involved... however... like in BG there will be specific houses involved.
    - Remember... Drow use other races as slaves and sacrifices.
    - They have also used slaves as entertainment, to fight monsters... like gladiator games.
    - Women run everything.
    - Psionics will be a play bigger role than they did in Hotenow.
    - Gith will be fighting Flayers.
    - There will be Sniverblin(sp) and ettercaps

Dungeons & Dragons fans will have more options than ever to enjoy the Rage of Demons storyline.

Ooooh, so you mean there will be 6 quests instead of 5 to mindless repeat again and again and again and again and again and again, et cetera....

I know where Demogorgon is, but where can I encounter Orcus and Graz'zt? o.O

Hope you can tell me, as I began the EE version yesterday. :)

They did dread ring and sharander correctly, people complain about the amount of "days" it takes to get through sharander, but frankly, it doesnt take that much "time" daily to complete them.

In addition they at the time of release WERE worth playing.. and doing not only for boons, but for fey hoards and greater marks of X and peridots and ect ect..

The new content has none of that.. Mod 6 removed most of the rewarding play in game.

If they add it back in for mod 8, I will be happy, I dont even want more boons, but a daily area that rewards you for playing it? Wow what a concept..

The only thing the Neverwinter Elemental Evil campaign has in common with the tabletop version are a few names and the fact that both campaigns are meat grinders that can end in brutal TPKs.

Heck the tabletop would've made some sweet dungeons with the possibility of facing against one the Princes of elemental evil, after fighting the prince's chosen, but nope EE was just a soul crushing grind using 3 recycled areas and one new.

So yeah mod 8, really looking forward to those kill 40 spider quests, and get 10 lolth icons with crappy drop rates.
